Ayaan's P.O.V.

With my eyes fixed on Ankita, I finally saw her eyes twitching. Her fingers moved and I stood up excited. Holding her face, I called out to her, "Ankita, can you hear me?" Everyone rushed and gathered around the bed. Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked at me. Not keeping them open for too long, she closed them shortly after once again. "She's fine. She regained conscious so there is nothing to worry about," Priya said smiling. "Thank you God," her Nani said joining her hands. I smiled overjoyed and kissed her forehead. After a few more hours of waiting, she woke up again and looked at me. By now, the visiting hours were over and everyone had left. She smiled at me a bit and removed her oxygen mask. "How are you feeling?" I asked holding her hand. "I'm fine. Thank you for keeping your promise," she said softly. I kissed her hand and looked at her. "How was your concert?" She asked. "Don't worry about my concert. Go back to sleep. You must be in a lot of pain," I said. "I'm fine," she said and began coughing. I took a glass of water and fed her some with a straw. "Are you ok?" I asked. She nodded. "Don't worry. Go home and get changed. When I wake up, I don't want to see these same clothes again," she said. I chuckled. I kissed her forehead and said, "Thank you for coming back." She nodded, took a deep breath and closed her eyes again. I looked at my clothes and thought to do anything she tells me to. I stepped out of the hospital but was flooded with cameras, reporters and journalists. I immediately went back inside to avoid them. Thinking quickly, I called Aarav and told him my situation. "Ok. Remain there, I'm coming," he said. I sat in Ankita's room and waited. After some time, he came and I immediately stood up asking, "How did these reporters and journalists know that I am here?" He looked at Ankita and said, "Relax. Let's go out and talk." I nodded.

We stepped out of the room and I asked my question again. "You invited this on yourself," he said. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Concert, hospital in Manali, ring a bell?" He said. "Oh no! I gave them everything," I said. "I will get you out anyways," he said. He took out my hoodie from his bag and handed it to me. "I have parked the car at the back and there aren't as many reporters there so we can go out easily," he said. "Let's go," I said and followed him to the back. As we stepped out, I looked at the reporters, sitting and waiting. We got into the car and easily went back to the hotel. As I entered, the receptionist came to me and said that someone was waiting for me in the restaurant. "Must be some journalist," I said. "No sir, it's some Mr. and Mrs. Kapoor with their daughter," she said. I froze and looked at Aarav. I nodded at the receptionist and went with her to the restaurant. There, they were all sitting at a table, waiting. The mere sight of them made my blood boil. Putting on an expressionless face, I went to them. "Hello, Ayaan. Welcome," Mr. Kapoor said standing up. He stretched his hand out for a handshake and I clearly ignored it outright. "It's AVM or Mr. Malhotra. Only kins call me Ayaan," I said. "Umm...please, have a seat," he said offering me the seat next to Shanaya. I opted for the seat at the head of the table thereby not sitting next to his wife and he, nor his daughter. I looked at them, showing how disinterested I was. "We heard about Ankita and rushed here immediately. How is she now?" Mrs. Kapoor asked. "Don't you think you should meet her doctor in the hospital for this information better?" I said. "We are just worried about her," Shanaya said. "Yeah, I can see how worried you all are about her. Don't worry, she's still alive. Although, I don't know if that is the best news for you," I said. "How can you say something like that? I'm still her father," Mr. Kapoor said. "Wow! You remember?" I said, "But where was this father when his daughter was growing up alone with her mother? Where was this father when his daughter's mother died and never showed up. Where was this father when his daughter started college? Where was he when his daughter needed him the most in her life?"

He lowered his eyes in front of me. "The thing that have me thinking is why are you here now?" I asked. "We are only concerned about our daughter," Mrs. Kapoor said. "Then you wouldn't be here sitting with me. You would be at the hospital," I said. "Just because you have a few hit songs and performed in a few concerts, you think that you own the entire world, don't you? Mr. AVM, you are insulting us again and again and we aren't saying anything to embarrass you. That doesn't mean that you keep on doing it," Shanaya said. I looked at her sternly. "Miss Shanaya, you should completely stay quiet if you have nothing good to say. My success has nothing to do with..." I said but stopped. I thought for a while and then it came to me. "Oh! So that's it!" I said, "You all aren't here to meet Ankita. You're here to meet me." "How can you be with a girl that betrayed you in the worst way?" Mrs. Kapoor asked. "The same way she can love her family after being treated in the worst way all her life," I said. "You don't know anything about our family. You don't have any right to comment on that," Mr. Kapoor said. "You're right. I think this meeting is only being kept to waste my time. I should be heading back to the hospital," I said looking at my watch. As I stood up and turned to leave, I looked at them. "Few more things, Mr. Kapoor, you might have never seen her as a daughter, but since the first time I met her, the only thing she said to me, was a huge praise about you. She was so absolutely proud of you that she said that her Dad is capable of anything, even if it is buying off my Dad," I said and looked at Shanaya, "The next time you are planning to drug someone to carry out a plan. Make sure to look around for cameras. And don't use others' names in it as well." She looked at me with her jaw dropped. "I hope this is the last time that I am seeing you all. I will still send you our wedding invitation though, just as a formality for unfortunately being my in-laws," I said and left.

I went back to my room, bathed, changed and went back to the hospital. Ankita was waking and laying on her bed. "Hey," I said, "When did you wake up?" "Five minutes ago," she said. "Are you in pain?" I asked sitting next to her. She shook her head. "Do you need anything?" I asked. She shook her head again. "Ok," I said holding her hand. "Were you scared?" She asked. I nodded. "Despite tell me over and over to not be scared?" She said. I nodded. "Why are you so?" She asked. "Just get better and stay with me. I promise you I won't be scared of anything else in this world," I said. "Ayaan..." she said looking at me with a sad smile, "Thank you for granting me this second life. I wouldn't have been able to do this without you." "I love you," I said. She looked at me silently. Not wanting her to feel awkward, I changed the topic saying, "Do you want to see my preformances?" Smiling, she nodded. I took out my phone and was getting some videos when Aarav messaged me. I opened it and saw Ankita's picture here in the hospital published on the news. I frowned at her. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Nothing," I lied with a smile, "It's Aarav. I'll just go and talk to him." I stepped out of the room and played the video. "Famous superstar AVM was allegedly spotted in a Manali hospital with a girl namely, Ankita. He also said in his most recent concert in Goa that the person responsible for making him reach this position is critical in the hospital. The question remains, how is this girl related to Rockstar AVM? For more news, keep watching..." the reporter said and I turned off the video. Surely one of the hospital staff must be the one to leak this. Ankita needs proper rest and if this reaches her, she will be stressed out and I can't let that happen. 'What are you going to do?' Aarav messaged me asking. 'I'll handle it somehow,' I wrote back.

Mom called me and I knew the reason. "Have you seen the news?" She asked. "Yes Mom, I just saw it," I said. "Who could have leaked this picture?" She asked. "Maybe a hospital staff member," I said. "I think there is only one way to clean up this mess," she said. "What is that?" I asked. After she explained her solution to me, I said, "I don't want to put pressure on Ankita. This could be too much for her to take on. Once she gets better, we can talk about this." "I think you should throw it out to her before it's too late," she said. I was left to think about this and went back into the room where Ankita was waiting. "What's wrong? Why are you so worried?" She asked. "Nothing at all. Everything is fine," I said. "No. I can tell when you are lying," she said. "Relax, don't stress too much. It's just a small problem. Smaller than you think. I'll handle it," I said. "Are you sure there isn't anything I can do to help you?" She asked. I dropped my shoulders to lighten up the mood a bit and said, "You only need to help me by staying here and resting. That means no overthinking as well." "Ayaan..." she started but I held her hand and stopped her saying, "Ankita, now that your surgery is finished and done with, nothing is more important than you recovering right now. You don't have to worry about my small problems. You only have to relax." She smiled slightly. "Promise me that you won't think too much," I said. "I promise," she said. "Thank you," I said. "I'm hungry," she said. I looked around and only found a small bowl of fruits. "Will you eat an apple? I don't know if the hospital will give food at this hour," I said. She nodded. I got an apple for her but couldn't find any knife to cut it. She took it from me and bit into it just so. I smiled and shook my head. After eating the apple, she closed her eyes and went back to sleep while I continued looking at her.
