Ankita's P.O.V.

I reached to my college the next morning and saw that the carpark was filled with more cars than usual. I walked through the corridor and went to the auditorium. The auditions were about to start for the camp concert and and there was a long line of people waiting. I made my way to the backdoor and entered from there. Everyone was waiting inside for me. "Look everyone, your so punctual manager," Pihu said sarcastically. I know that it was my mistake so I didn't reply her. I stood in front of everyone and said, "Firstly, I apologise for being late. Now, what ideas did you guys come up with for the concert?" Everyone sat and looked at me silently with frowns. "Are you all serious? You didn't think of anything all night?" I asked. "Ankita, what can we possibly do?" Preeti asked. "Oh come on guys! Think of at least one idea!" I said. "But Ankita, will Princy allow that?" Maya, another student asked. Smirking, I said, "You guys just think. I will see about the rest." "But shall we start the auditions now?" Vicky asked. "Yeah sure. I think that we should start," I said. "Great, let's get Mr. Prakash," he said. "Why?" I asked. "Look at this! The manager of the concert doesn't even know who the judges are," Pihu spat. I rolled my eyes. Preeti came and rested her hand on my shoulder saying, "Mr. Prakash is judging because he's the music professor and he knows about music better than anyone else." Makes sense. Vicky came back with him and he took a seat at the table they organised off the stage. "Are you comfortable sir?" I asked. "Yes, I think we should start now," he said. I nodded and looked at Vicky. "Send the first person," I said. He went to the door and called the first person while we all took seats behind Mr. Prakash. The girl came inside with her form and handed it to Mr. Prakash. She went on the stage and stood behind the microphone. "Introduce yourself," Mr. Prakash said. "My name is Smita Pandit," the nervous girl said. "What's your favourite song?" Mr. Prakash asked. "Ed Sheeran's Perfect, sir," she said. "Nice! And what song are you going to present today?" he asked. "Sir, I will be performing my favourite song," she said.

"Ok, calm down. Relax and enjoy your performance," he said. She took a deep breath and exhaled. Closing her eyes tightly, she started the song, "I found a love, for me...Darling just dive right in and follow my lead..." She had a sweet voice and hearing this song from her was just so soothing. While listening to her, I began to feel a bit thirsty and decided to go and get some water to wet my throat. I looked at Preeti enjoying the performance and decided to not disturb her. I got up quietly and left the auditorium. I looked at the long line of contestants standing for their turn while others made themselves comfortable on benches on the corridor. I was so proud of myself for the work I had cut out for me. I can't wait to reach Manali and start my work. I bent my head and was walking through everyone with a smile when suddenly, I stepped on someone's foot by mistake and heard them saying gritting their teeth, "What the hell!" I looked up to say sorry but stopped when I actually saw who it was. "You again!" I yelled. Ayaan looked at me angrily and remained silent. "What are you doing here?" I screamed further. He looked at me with his eyebrows joined in annoyance and continued to stay quiet. I rolled my eyes and decided that I would leave him this time. Besides, my throat was too dry to quarrel with him. I shook my head and walked away. I quickly went to the cafeteria and asked for a bottled water. While waiting, someone came and stood next to me. His sweet scent and demanded presence forced me to look at him and I frowned. It was Ayaan again. He looked at me and said, "You owe me an apology." The seller brought my bottle and I took it. Sarcastically smiling at Ayaan, I asked, "For what? Dashing a bucket of water on you, or spoiling your so-called expensive designer shoes?" I opened the bottle of water and walked away drinking it. Someone grabbed onto my arm in the corridor and span me around. With the sudden scare, my entire bottle of water slipped from my hand and began emptying on the ground. The person pulled me to a private corner and pinned me against the wall. I stared into his eyes with fury. "Who the hell you think you are?" I spat but he placed his finger on my lips saying, "Shush."
