Ch. 03 - Suddenly Mr. Popular

I stayed up all night trying to snap myself out, thinking this is just a nightmare I have to wake up from. But, noooo. I have pinched myself countless times and I'm still in this nightmare-ish world.
I'm marrying Natsu this coming Saturday. That's like, 4 days away. That doesn't sound so good for me to hear, you know? No way am I gonna escape this.
I decided to go to my comfort zone--the library, where I saw the librarian smiling. "Oh, good morning, Lucy." She silently greeted.
"G'morning." I greeted, walking towards the Romance section.
I may love the Romance genre most but, I am not up to marrying Natsu--even though I think he's cute with his child-like acts.
"Lucy, where have you been last Saturday? I was texting you all day. I was gonna hang out with you at the mall." Levy sighs, staring up at me. She tucked her phone back inside her bag.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry about that... my parents called me for a meeting." I shook my head, memories flashing back.
"Oh." She nodded. "What did they talk to you about?"
I shook my head then, shuddered. "Oh, no. You don't want to know, Lev." I shivered. "L-Let's just go back to our class."

[ GYMNASIUM ]
"Oh. My. Goodness!" Levy almost shrieked when the both of us saw Natsu playing badminton with the guys. With 80% of the girls were present in the gym.
I saw the score board. Natsu was definitely taking the lead with him, leaving Loke in the air.
"Wow. Natsu really captured the girls' attention." Levy awed.
I scoffed. "He really likes showing off." I looked away but then, I turned to look back at Natsu when I heard the girls scream.
Levy smirked. "So, still think he's just showing off?"
I shook my head, turning my back at him. "I think I'll need some fresh air. I'm going ahead, Lev."

[ ROOF TOP ]
I felt the air blowing through my hair, making some strands lift up. I crossed my legs as I plugged my earphones inside my ears then played my favorite play list.
Just how amazing is Natsu, really? Honestly, I did not see that coming--judging from his child-like acting.
"Ahh... FINALLY! Fresh air..." I looked up and saw Gray wiping sweat from his head. He looked at me and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Lucy? Funny to see you here." He sat two inches before me as he fanned himself with the fan. "What brings you here?"
I shrugged, sighing. "I'm experiencing a personal conflict."
"Oh." He said. After that, he just stayed quiet.
"Hey, Gray? Can I ask you something?" I asked, looking towards him.
"Shoot." He agreed, staring at me.
"Are you ignoring Juvia... just because you know she's in love with you?" I asked.
He looked away. "What's with that question? And, out of the blue, too."
I shrugged. "Just making small talk."
He shook his head. "I'm not ignoring her because of that. I'm just ignoeing her so things won't be awkward. Besides, I have someone else in mind." He smirked, staring at me.
"Ohh... I see..." Was all I commented. Did not bother to ask him who she was. He won't say it even if I do.
"Anyway," He stood up, handed out his arm. "Let's go back to the classroom."
I agreed, pulling his arm so that I could stand up. "Thanks."

Right when I came inside the classroom, I saw Natsu already sleeping his ass off on top of the table.
I sat in front of him and furrowed my eyes at him. "What happened to him?" I asked Levy, who was cheerfully texting someone else.
"H-Huh?" She blushed, closing her flip top phone and tucked it inside her skirt. "U-Uh, Natsu was tired, y'see? He beat Loke, after all."
I shook my head. "He's... amazing, I guess."
"GESUNDHEIT!!!!" The whole class looked in Natsu's direction when he woke up all of a sudden.
I turned to look at him. He definitely fell asleep earlier. "Uh, are you okay?" I asked.
"Y-Yeah..." He stuttered, trying to stop his upcoming sneeze. He suddenly scrunched up his nose, slumping his back on his chair.
"Natsu, what's your plan?" I asked.
He furrowed his brows. "About what...?" He asked, looking dumbfoundedly at me as if he doesn't know what the hell I was talking about.
"About the..." I looked around then whispered. "Engagement."
He suddenly perks up, resting his back on the chair. "I can honestly say we just do my plan-- 'lovey-doveying'." He smiled. "Now then, if you'll excuse me, I want to get back to sleeping since I hadn't have a single shut eye last night."
I scoffed. "Why wouldn't you be able to have a good night's sleep?" I muttered to myself.
"Lucy, I saw that." Levy smirked.
"Saw what, exactly?"
"Your little convo with Dragneel." She stated, looking from me to him.
I shook my head. "I was just asking him something. Nothing unusual."
Levy bit her lip, obviously not believing my story. I rolled my eyes at her then, looked away from them.
"But, it's funny though. I mean, Natsu's only transferred here and he's already got the attention." Levy said.
'Well, I must say he is attractive despite his childish acting." Wait. What the hell did I just say? SNAP OUT OF IT.
