Ch. 18 - Visitors at the Dragneels

Later that night, Natsu and I managed to get home safely. I had changed into my PJs and kept my formal clothes insidd the closet. "Okay, you can come in now."

Natsu yawned, stretching his arms then plopped on the sofa on his stomach. "Good night, then."

I bit my lip, feeling guilty for Natsu. I stared at the bed and then back to him. I sighed in defeat, "I can't believe I'm doing this." Plopping a few pillows in the middle of the bed, I called upon Natsu, making him shot up a look.

"Y-You can sleep here, you know."

Right when I stated that, Natsu's spiky hair stood up. He immediately plopped himself on the bed and hummed a happy melody. "Ahh... soft... been so long since I felt this..."

I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and gently sat up on the bed, trying to make a comfortable position on bed. I turned my back on Natsu awkwardly then stared by the bookcase to distract myself.

"Night, Luce! Thanks for letting me sleep here!"

"Good night. Just remember--don't remove the barricade. Got it?"

He nodded obediently and went snoring off on me. I shook my head and slowly closed my eyes to sleep off.

In the morning . . .

"Mmf..." I simply let myself moan and smack my lips as I slowly woke up. And when I did wake up, my eyes widened in surprise to see Natsu with his arms wrapped around my body with my head leaning on his chest.

"W-Wha...?"

Too sleepy to use my strength, Natsu pulled me closer.

"Stop this... idiot... I... can't breathe... a-air....!" I gasped when I finally got him to let me go. As a result, I fell off the bed, hitting my head on the small bed drawer.

"Ow! Urgh..." I grunted, biting my lip to stop myself from cursing. Slowly standing up, I saw my cellphone vibrate. I went ahead and answered.

"H-Hello...?"

"Lucy! It's me." I heard her giggle on the other line.

"Levy, morning." I simply greeted, sitting on the bed, away from Natsu. "Why did you call?"

"That's rude. Aren't I your bestfriend?"

I sighed in defeat. "Okay. What do you want?"

"Can I...come over? Pretty please?"

"And...why? Look, I already told you--I can't let anyone-"

"But, Gray got to see your house. Why can't I?"

"That was a stupid acciden-argh. Fine. Fine. I'll tell you the address, just be sure. Be very very sure to not let anyone find out."

"Sure. Got it."

"Hoho! I smell something great!" I heard Natsu run down the stairs when he smelled spaghetti cooking on the stove. He clapped like a child when he saw me cooking. "Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! Is that for me?"

I sighed, "Of course not. It's for me, too."

Natsu shrugs, sitting at the dining room. "Works for me." He simply hummed a tune as he tapped his fingers harmonically on the dining table.

I sigh in frustration, facing him with my hands placed on both sides of my hips. I cleared my throat when I saw him being care-free. "*Ahem* *ahem*"

"Excuse you." Natsu chuckled.

"Seriously?" I roll my eyes at him, "At least prepare the plates for us." I gestured him to get the plates by slightly tilting my head a bit by the place the plates were.

"You should get it, wifey." Natsu smirked, wiggling his eyebrows at me.

"Wifey??"

"Yeah. I'll call you wifey, you call me your precious hubby."

"W-Whatever. Just...prepare the table." I pointed at the plates.

He sighed, getting up then slowly prepared the table set. "There. Happy, wifey?"

"Yas, my dear hubby." I replied sarcastically, emphasizing the word, 'hubby'.

He chuckled, "Yeah. I like the sound of that."

**Ding** **Dong** **Bing-Bong**

Natsu and I looked at the door. I realized who it was. "Who could that be?" Natsu asked in a curious tone. "Must be our parents. I'll go get it, then."

"Uh, NO. NO." I stopped him by pulling him by his wrists. He turned, looking weirdly at me. I quickly let his wrist go, cleaeing my throat.

"Uh, I'll go get it. You just go and prepare the spaghetti on the plate, 'kay?" I laughed nervously, trying to make him feel convinced.

"O-kay...you sound weird." He turned his back and went to the spaghetti. Meanwhile, I ran towards the door and answered, seeing Gray and Levy together.

"Hi, Lu-"

"Shh!"

Levy looked weirdly at me, "What's the problem?" She asked curiously, looking through the net but I immediately blocked her sight. "Wait, Gray came, too?"

"Ain't it obvious? You can see me." Gray stated sarcastically then chuckled after.

I shook my head at him, "You are so not allowed here."

I had opened the screen door and quickly let them in. "Luce, spaghetti's ready! Come on. I'm starving." I heard Natsu's voice faintly.

"O-Okay." I looked in Levy and Gray's direction, signalling them to keep quiet.

"Lucy, is there something you're not telling me?" Levy asked suspiciously, crosding her arms underneath her chest.

"Uh," I sighed in defeat. "Okay, look. I haven't exactly told Natsu about you guys coming here so please? I'll...explain it to him."

"Sure. Try your best because I'm pretty sure he already knows."

"How can you tell that?"

"He's looking strangely at the three of us."

I gulped, slowly turning around--seeing a very well shocked Natsu holding the spatula with spaghetti on the plate.

"Luce...you let visitors in?"

Closing my eyes, I tried my best to wish they'd remain close forever though I knew they wouldn't work. So, instead I decided to let him scold me.

"I, uh," Cleared my throat. "sorta...invited them."

Natsu lifted an eyebrow, "Huh." He placed the plate with spaghetti on top of the dining table then crossed his arms. "So that's why you cooked too muh than I could eat."

He looked carefully in suspicion at the two with Levy feeling uncomfortable and Gray having a smug look on his face.

Natsu sighed, "Fine then. Let's go eat before they run cold. I hate cold food."
Wait. Natsu...wasn't mad at me? Wow. I didn't expect this. I totally expected a full shout saying I'm unfair.
