Ch. 25 - She's Jealous

Lucy's P.O.V.
Stomping my feet as I was walking around the classroom with nothing to do, our adviser had already come in and started discussing about Physics.
Resting my chin on the palm of my hand, I sighed at the thought. And just where has Natsu gone off to now? Oh, wait. He's with Lisanna. I should've known better.
“Hai, Ms. Heartfilia, I would like you to list the formulas we are going to need today.” Mr. Gildarts called upon me, giving me the chalk.
My mind was empty while I was holding the chalk steadily on the board. Nothing popped into my mind except--
“Uh...? Mi--Miss Heartfilia, please control yourself... we all know how he can be so annoying but, at least write the equation first.”
I felt my eyes widen when I saw what I had just written on the board. My face felt like it was going to explode.
I hate you, Natsu!
Feeling I made a fool out of myself, I had quickly erased the written work and hurried on writing the formula.
When I got back to my seat, I felt Levy's weird stare. “Did you two fight again?”
I scoffed. “W--what are you talking about, Lev? What would we even fight about, hmm?” Giggling shyly, I calm myself and decided to take my mind off him and concentrate in class.
While Mr. Gildarts was discussing in class, I felt my eyes get fogged up. I could suddenly hear Natsu's voice saying. 'Lucy, wifey!'
My face has heaten up again. “D--don't even think about such things...” oh, great. Now, it's all inside my head, echoing.
“Sorry I'm late, sir.”
I heard almost everyone had turned to gaze at Natsu. Taking a quick glance at him, my eyes widened as he walked to his seat with a wrinkled collar and his ruffled hair.
“Alrighty, then. Since our discussion hasn't started yet, I'll forgive you--for now. The next time this is repeated, you will stand outside, carrying two buckets of water.”
I wanted to ask Natsu; where were you? Were you with Lisanna? Is Lisanna forcing herself on you? Were you in a fight? Those questions were wrapped around my head as I was tempted to turn around to look at him straight in his face.

“See you tomorrow, Lucy.” Levy waved good-bye but before she could leave the school campus, she patted me on the back and wore a sad smile. “Hey,” she started off. “if you have a problem, need any advice, come talk to me, okay?” she shrugs along with her answer.
Nodding in approval, she went off to her home, leaving me by the gates of the campus.
“Hey,” I greeted when Gray was just about to walk pass me.
He turned around and greeted back with a “Hey,” he cleared his throat, scratching the back of his neck, whispering something. “I, uh, scolded Natsu earlier.”
My eyes widened in surprise. “wait, what? Why would you do that? What did you scold about?”
He coughed, looking away with a hint of blush rising in his cheeks. “s--see, earlier, I thought he was cheatin' on you with Lisanna so, I told him to cut it out but since he told me it was you who wanted him to continue, I just,” he shrugged. “went with it.”
Shaking my head about what had happened, I worried about Natsu. “Well, d--did he say anything?”
He shook his head hesitatingly. “No... but, he did mention something about obeying your orders because you're his wife now.”
My heart--I felt it again. That sensation. The speed of its beating. It felt like it was about to explode. My chest tightened.
“Speaking of Natsu,” Gray coughed then just pats me on the head with a small wave of good-bye and then walked on his way.
“Nats--” I had cut myself off automatically when Natsu just went pass by me. He went to the clipboard where we have to list our names before we could go off campus.
Ignoring that heartfelt disappointment, I went straight forward to catch up with him--to keep up with his pace.
When I looked at his face, he looked down in the dumps. He looked really upset and confused down on the road we were walking on.
“I... I...” before starting off to break the silence, I clear my throat to make sure my presence was felt. “So, uh, Gray told me... what happened and--”
“Are you regretting it?” he asked in a straight voice.
“W--what am I regretting...?” I asked, confused about his question.
We stopped walking. He turned around and stared at me for a while then he dragged me towards the side of the street, making me squeak a bit.
He trapped me by the wall when his one arm is used to support him and his face an inch closer to mine. One wrong move and we'll end up kissing in front of the school.
“Are you regretting allowing Lisanna to come and continue liking me?”
I shook my head with hesitation.
He lifted an eyebrow. “Are you sure? Do you feel upset or regret when you allowed her to?”
I shook my head and this time, he could sense me hesitating. He nodded in understanding.
“I--I have to do it, then, I guess.”
“W--what are you going to do?”
“Make her dislike me...”
I shook my head. “But... but, if you do that--she'll be heart broken.”
He shrugged. “Nothing we can do. I mean, if I let her do whatever she wants, it'll be like cheating on you.”
As if he could read my mind, he cut me off by saying. “Even if it were forced or not, we are still legally married so, I'm going to do the right thing.”
“N--Natsu...?”
Natsu and I turned around with our eyes wide open. “Oh, no . . .” the both of us said in unison.
“W--what do you mean you're married to her?”
