"This is gonna be the best date ever." You beamed.
"It hasn't even started yet."
"Yeah, but I have a good feeling."
Jungkook smiled softly as the both of you entered the arcade, heading straight for the laser tag area where you received your vests and laser guns. The place wasn't too busy and Jungkook just wanted the two of you to play a round of laser tag head-to-head.

A staff member went over the rules with you. It was all the basic things you should know not to do: no pushing, no hitting, no kicking, etc. After that, the two of you were able to enter the laser tag area and begin the game. A countdown sounded over the speakers as you and Jungkook found your hiding spots.
The laser tag room was the coolest thing you'd ever seen. It was dark, but all the platforms were lit brightly with neon colored lights. It was very space-esque and you loved it.

"3, 2, 1. Start." The voice over the speaker finished the countdown.

You held your laser gun close to you, your finger resting on the trigger as you attempted to prepare a game plan. Jungkook is an extremely athletic and talented person. He's quite literally good at everything and that most likely includes laser tag. You knew he'd be hard to beat, you also knew he could probably outrun you, so for the time being, you decided to stay in your hiding spot and scope the place.
With the utmost caution, you poked your head out from behind the large pillar you were hidden on the other side of, peering out into the area. You didn't see Jungkook. That could be a good thing or it could be a bad thing. You had no idea what he had up his sleeve. The boy was unpredictable.

You watched the red numbers on the wall counting down. One round was fifteen minutes and the clock currently read 13:04. You knew you couldn't just hide the whole time, you had to make a move at some point.
There were many glowing, neon walls placed throughout the area. There were plenty of great hiding spots and Jungkook could be in any one of them. You just had to hope that you didn't pick a spot he already occupied.
You carefully stepped out from behind the pillar, hurrying over to two walls, standing catty-cornered so you were hidden.
"I heard that."
You flinched hearing Jungkook's voice from somewhere in the area. Your heart raced as you glanced towards the clock.
12:45.
Holding your laser gun tightly, you abandoned your hiding spot, skillfully and silently slinking across the floor until you got to a ramp leading to the second floor. Perhaps you'd be safe up there. You hurried up the ramp, not wanting to be caught.

Your eyes hastily searched the area until you found a nice little spot with a view of the floor below. With a few quick steps, you swiftly moved behind one of the walls, shielding yourself from any prying eyes. You were quick to decide that you'd stay in that spot for a little while, seeing as it gave you a great vantage point.
When you felt it was safe, you slowly stuck your head around the corner. Fate must have been on your side, because as soon as you looked out, Jungkook went creeping across the first floor. He had his laser gun pointed ahead of him as he scoped the place. He obviously didn't see you go up to the second floor.
This was your chance.
You stepped away from your hiding spot for a brief moment, moving closer to the railing, your laser gun pointed and ready to fire.

Each vest had four targets on them: two on the shoulders, one on the back, and one on the chest. If you got hit five times, you were out. The target on Jungkook's right shoulder was in perfect range. You seized the opportunity, shooting your shot—literally. You started rapidly pulling the trigger, the sounds of lasers coming from your gun as you mercilessly shot at him. To your glee, his vest began to flash white, signaling that you had hit one of the four targets on him during your attack. Jungkook let out a yelp as he scurried behind a pillar to hide.
You retreated back to your hiding spot, a bright grin on your face.
"One down, four to go." You murmured to yourself.

You stayed in the same spot for a while, using one of the slits in the wall you were behind to look out for Jungkook. Just then, you caught a glimpse of him sneaking up the ramp to the second floor. Your eyes widened.
Being as quiet as you could, you snuck away from your hiding spot, abandoning it to find a better one that was further from Jungkook.

There was a large, curved wall in the corner of the room that looked like it would hide you well. Without thinking twice, you hurried over to it, watching through one of the cutouts in the wall. Your athletic boyfriend snuck around the area, hiding himself behind pillars as he searched for you. You figured your best bet was to stay in the same place, at least for a little while. You couldn't see the clock from your hiding spot, so you weren't sure how long you had, you assumed probably 10 minutes.

You heard Jungkook's heavy breathing as he walked around the small area you were hidden in. You froze, your whole body stiffening as you listened carefully, your hands shaking on account of the adrenaline running through you. Then, Jungkook came around the corner, his laser gun pointed at you. A scream escaped you as you pulled the trigger, blindly shooting laser beams at Jungkook as you ran off, your body hunched as you made your escape, praying you didn't get hit. Once safely hidden, you glanced down at your vest only to find that it was flashing white.
"Crap." You hissed.
Jungkook's maniacal laughter could be heard from somewhere in the arena.
"Jerk." You muttered under your breath, a smile threatening to break out on your face.

Now you each had one hit on each other. Since you moved to a different spot, you could now see the clock. 8:45.
If one of you didn't pull out a win, the game would be pointless. You could hear Jungkook jogging around the second floor, keeping you on your toes. You quickly scurried away from your hiding spot, choosing to be bold and quite literally risk it all. Without taking another second to think about your decision, you raced across the floor as quickly and quietly as possible, peeking behind each wall. Your head poked around the corner of a pillar where you spotted Jungkook, hitting him immediately before making a swift retreat.
He let out a noise of displeasure at his flashing vest, upset that he got hit a second time.

The game progressed rapidly as time ticked away. There was three minutes left in the game and you only had to get Jungkook one more time. To your utter shock and disbelief, he only had three hits on you.
Jungkook had retreated to the first floor and you were currently on your way down the ramp in hot pursuit. You ran across a shallow platform, coming to a halt, your laser gun at the ready.
"I have the high ground now!" You grinned wickedly, your finger on the trigger.
Jungkook sprinted away, running behind pillars. You glanced at the clock, watching as it counted down. You began to panic, knowing you only had one shot left to win. You jumped down from the platform to chase after your boyfriend, but your ankle twisted, causing you to yelp.
Jungkook rushed over to you moments later, a worried look on his face.
"Baby, are you okay?"
The fall only surprised you, so seeing Jungkook worried was a bit humorous to you. Laughter spilled from your lips, but to Jungkook, it sounded like sobs.
"The countdown is almost over. We'll be let out soon. It's okay." He reassured you.
Your laughter quickly turned into cackling and you looked up at him saying as you lifted the gun to his chest, "You fool."
Then, you pulled the trigger.
His chest plate flashed white as a voice over the speakers announced, "Player JK out."
There was only one word to describe the look on Jungkook's face, and that was betrayal.

Once you left the laser tag room, Jungkook got pouty, clearly upset that he lost. The poor boy can't stand losing.
"If it makes you feel better, I actually hurt my ankle, look." You pulled up your pants leg to show him a small, faint bruise beginning to form.
His pout only got worse.
You then remembered that the arcade had a snack bar that served food.
"What if I buy you fries?" You asked.
Jungkook stopped, looking over at you.
"Loaded fries?"
"Yes. Whatever you want."
His face lit up immediately.
"Okay."

After buying loaded fries for Jungkook, he seemed much happier.
"You played really well." He told you.
"Yeah?"
"Mhm." He nodded, taking a sip of his Coke. "Sorry I was being a sore loser."
"You weren't. Plus, we can always play another round."
His brows raised as a grin made its way onto his face.
"You're on."
