I rushed around backstage, unpacking all the makeup from my bag and lining it out on the vanity, making sure each eyeshadow palette was open and ready to be used.
I've been working as a makeup artist for BTS for about five months now and this is my first time doing makeup for a concert. It's a bit intimidating and nerve-racking, but I'm very confident in my abilities.

The boys walked into the green room and went to their designated makeup artist.
"Hello, Y/n." Jimin greeted me with a friendly smile.
"Hi, Jimin." I nodded.

Since becoming his makeup artist, the two of us have become rather close. We have one of those friendships where we always tease each other, which is one of the best kinds of friendships if you ask me.

"You nervous?" He asked.
"Psh. No." I rolled my eyes.
"Yes you are."
My mouth dropped open, causing him to chuckle. I let out a sigh and grabbed the foundation, taking a brush and applying the makeup only where it was needed.
"So what if I'm nervous?" I asked suddenly.
"You have nothing to worry about."
"I hope so."
I continued applying his makeup, stopping when I got to the eyeshadow. Their first song for the night was going to be Black Swan. The concept was supposed to be dark, yet glamorous. I started by applying a thin layer of foundation only where it was needed.
"Can you add some here?" Jimin pointed to his cheek. "I got a breakout the other day and you can still kinda see it."
"Sure."
I applied a bit of foundation to the spot with a brush and used a sponge to blend it in. When I got around his mouth, I made sure to avoid getting any foundation on his lips. Before I got hired here, I noticed that sometimes, his top lip would be partially concealed. I didn't like that. I think his natural lips are beautiful and should be displayed in all their fullness.
That's the good thing about being Jimin's makeup artist, I can pretty much do whatever I want, as long as it fits the concept.

After getting his foundation applied and eyebrows filled in, I moved on to the best, and my favorite part—eyeshadow.
I grabbed a brush and put a pale base color on before going in with a dark brown color, applying it close to the lash line. Then, I went in with black and smoked it out a bit, blending it and making a clean gradient from black to brown. I stepped away for a moment to see if it looked good.
I nodded in approval at my handiwork.
"Don't get cocky, now." Jimin teased.
"What? I can't be proud of my work?"
"You can, but it's not even done yet."
"And still, it looks amazing." I grinned, flipping my hair before going in to work on his other eye.

I finished his eyeshadow rather quickly and moved on to his lips. One thing I still haven't gotten used to is applying tint to Jimin's plush lips. Though we're friends, I can't deny how good-looking he is, and I certainly can't deny the fast beating of my heart when I'm around him nor the fond feelings that take over when I see him.
It's difficult to push those feelings away, especially when I'm at work, but somehow, I manage.

"What are you waiting for?" Jimin asked.
I blinked a few times, not realizing I was just staring at him.
"Sorry." I mumbled, grabbing a tube of tinted lip balm and uncapping it.
I began applying it to Jimin's lips, watching the way it glides across them. When I pulled away, he pressed his lips together a few times to spread the product before looking in the mirror.
"I think I need a little more." He told me.
I leaned down and put more of the lip balm on,  going in an spreading some of it with my finger.
