Your shoes crunched against the foliage below your feet as you traipsed through the woods. You were on a mission, a personal one. Your mom had become ill and you have to find this specific flower to help heal her. The doctor described to you what it looked like and made a rough sketch of it for you to carry with you on your journey. You were told you could find it in these woods near a brook, unfortunately, you have yet to even hear water.
You continued ahead until the trees started to become more sparse. You assumed that meant you were nearing the stream. That assumption proved to be wrong when you still didn't hear water.
"I was sure I was going in the right direction." You muttered to yourself.
"You're not." A male's voice spoke up.
A gasp left you as your body jerked upright in surprise.
"Who—" Your question was cut off when you saw King Jimin, ruler of the ice kingdom.

His sharp, frosty blue eyes bore into yours so intensely you could almost feel a chilly sensation creeping onto your skin.
"You're on ice kingdom territory." He stated firmly.
"I'm so sorry, your majesty." You apologized. "It was an accident."
"Liar."
"I'm not lying." You shook your head.
"You're from the fire kingdom, of course you're lying." He seethed, moving over to you.
His top lip curled as an icy crackling sound could be heard as he summoned his powers.
"I should turn you into an icicle for trespassing."
Seeing you on ice kingdom territory angered Jimin immensely and he wanted nothing more than to scare you off and protect his people.
"I swear, I'm telling the truth. Please don't hurt me." You begged, covering your head.
Jimin noticed how your hands trembled with fear and the way you cowered away from him. Then, suddenly, he began to feel guilt.

The icy shock wave you had prepared for never came, prompting you to lift your head to look at the king. Jimin's face softened as he looked at you, his expression showing remorse.
"You are telling the truth."
"I am." You confirmed.
Your body shook as he brought his hand to your cheek, making you flinch slightly.
"I'm sorry for scaring you." He spoke calmly. "I was only defending my territory."
"So, you won't turn me into an icicle?" You asked, weakly.
"No." He shook his head.
You let out a sigh of relief.
"Follow me." He instructed, walking back the way he came.
"Where to?" You inquired, trailing behind him.
"My castle."
Your heart dropped.
"Are you taking me as a prisoner?"
"What?" He chuckled. "No. I feel horrible for scaring you. I want to do something to make up for it."
"Oh. That's not necessary."
"It'll make me feel better."
"Ah. I can't really refuse then, can I?" You chuckled.
"No you can't."

You followed the king into town, the citizens residing there watched you with scrutinizing gazes as you passed.
Is it that obvious I'm from the fire kingdom?
"Ignore them." Jimin spoke under his breath. "Keep walking."

Jimin has a big reputation among the four kingdoms. He's a king without a queen, which is unheard of. One would think someone as handsome as him would have someone by his side, but he doesn't. In fact, you heard that he turns down everyone. Any woman that's come to him has been turned away which has led everyone to believe he isn't interested in a relationship.

You continued through the town until you reached Jimin's lavish castle. The structure glimmered slightly, a frosty layer appearing to coat the outside of the massive fortress. Despite the weather only being slightly chilly, the frost stayed unmoving, clinging to the castle's outer layer.
Jimin merely nodded at his guards, not saying a single word as the two of you passed through the gate and into the courtyard. You trailed wordlessly behind him as you stepped into the castle.

You had never been inside the ice king's castle, let alone on ice kingdom territory, but it wasn't anything like you had expected. You thought everything would be made of ice and it would be bone-chillingly cold, but it wasn't. The atmosphere inside was rather warm and welcoming. The decor was just regular furniture, all consisting of the same color scheme: sapphire blue and silver.

"Your home is beautiful." You uttered more quietly than intended.
"Thank you, but that's not the only thing that's beautiful."
Your eyes widened a bit as you processed his rather straightforward comment.
He smirked before speaking again. "You know, I haven't gotten your name yet."
"Oh." Embarrassment flooded your entire body.
You were so scared of being turned into a block of ice that you didn't even bother to introduce yourself.
A soft chuckle escaped Jimin as he glanced over his shoulder at you, an amused smirk painted across his features.
"Apologies, your highness. I'm so impolite." You bowed your head.
"There's no need for all that formality stuff." He waved his hand dismissively. "Just call me Jimin."
"Sorry... Jimin." It felt odd calling him that. "My name is Y/n."
"Y/n." He repeated the name to himself. "I wanted to apologize again for scaring you in the woods. Once I realized you weren't a threat, I felt bad for being so harsh."
"You were just protecting the territory. I understand."
"Even so, I do feel bad. Perhaps a tour of the castle would help to make up for what I've done. Hm?"
"I would like that very much."
"Follow me, then." He held his arm out.
You linked your arm with his and allowed him to lead you through the place he calls home.

Jimin took you through the winding hallways, showing you different pieces of artwork and many family heirlooms.
"This vase belongs to the Joseon dynasty." He pointed.
"No way. That's amazing." You stepped forward to get a closer look at the artifact.
"It's one of the many prized possessions within this castle."
Your eyes looked over the vase, admiring the intricate details on it.
"I like to have beautiful things in my home." Jimin commented.
You turned to him, noticing the way he stared at you, his eyes looking you up and down, a smirk tugging at his lips. You then registered his comment and the meaning behind it.
"Ah." You blushed.
"Come here. I want to show you something else."
He took your hand and pulled you further down the hallway, stopping in front of a massive painting. The artwork depicted the castle covered in snow, its surroundings coated in a beautiful white blanket.
"It's beautiful." You commented, admiring all the small details in the painting.
"It's one of my favorite pieces. I love winter and seeing everything covered in snow makes me so happy." He smiled softly, his eyes gazing at the artwork on the wall.
"Jimin, I'm enjoying my time with you, but how much longer will it take for you to show me the rest of the castle?"
"I'm not sure. Why?"
"I can't stay long. I have something important I have to do."
"And what would that be?" He inquired.
"Well, you see, when you caught me on ice kingdom territory, I was looking for a flower."
"What do you need a flower for?"
You let out a sigh, your heart feeling heavy.
"My mother is sick and I need the flower to heal her."
Jimin's brows pulled together worriedly, his full lips pulling into a frown.
"What does this flower look like?" He questioned, his tone soft and gentle.
"I have this." You rummaged in your bag and retrieved the rough sketch the physician gave to you.
"The doctor told me I could find the flower in the woods near a brook."
"Did he tell you the flower was a pale pink color?" Jimin asked.
"Yes. He did."
"I have that flower."
"Really?" You asked, feeling rather hopeful.
"Yes. I'll show you."

Jimin led you through the castle and out into a garden behind his large home. You followed him to a specific section of the small plot. Sitting amongst the other blooms and blossoms was the pink flower you were sent to retrieve.
Your eyes began to water slightly as happiness overtook you. Your hand covered your mouth in an attempt to muffle your silent sniffles.
Jimin stepped forward and hugged you from behind to comfort you.
"She's beautiful... but not nearly as beautiful as you." He commented.
You were a bit caught off guard by that, not expecting him to compliment you yet again.
"Is this the only one?" You asked, drying your eyes.
"There are some in the woods you were in, but this is the only one I have here on my estate." He explained.
"I don't want to take it from you."
"I don't need it."
"Jimin—" You didn't get a chance to finish as he spoke up.
"You can only have her if I can have you." He said.
The stipulation surprised you, but it wasn't something you were against. You liked Jimin and you also wanted to save your mother, so the answer was easy.
"Okay." You agreed.
"Very well, then."
Jimin stepped away, his arms retracting as he pulled the flower from the ground.
He handed the bloom to you. "I want you to come back and see me. Okay?"
"I can do that." You smiled, taking the flower from him. "Thank you, Jimin."
"Of course." He returned the smile and leaned forward, placing a gentle kiss on your cheek.
"Go save your mom."
