I groaned as my phone rang for the seventh time in the past ten minutes. I declined it again and turned my phone completely off. Coulson could survive without me, he'd been calling all day. My hands wrapped around the warm cup of tea on the table. I didn't even like it, but I had still ordered it. I needed to look normal. Which I couldn't do if my phone was blowing up every two seconds.

I had more pressing matters right in front of me, compared to whatever Coulson needed me for. Alex Morris. He had been causing havoc for a while. He'd been selling a drug that had become lethal. In the past week, 57 people have overdosed from it. He was the lowest of the low. Offering a drug to junkies and taking their money only to know they wouldn't survive the next 24 hours.

My eyes locked on the door of the cafe as the bell chimed. It was early enough that there weren't more than 4 people here, counting myself. There he was. My target. The pictures of Morris served him no justice. He looked even more like Satan's spawn in person than he did in pictures.

I watched him closely as he sat down in a booth with another person. The same man who had been here for nearly 20 minutes and still hadn't taken a sip from his coffee. Both of them seemed to have some sort of connection. Morris seemed pissed at the man.

Probably my doing. I had intersected one of Morris's deals the other night. He was starting to realize that his operation wasn't so secret, starting to realize that someone had caught onto him. The conversation got heated as the two exchanged words. I did my best to read his lips, but didn't come up with anything that made sense. Besides a bunch of curses and a few threats.

Morris stood up quickly and stormed out the door, after cursing out the guy one more time. I tossed some money on the table, to pay for the tea I had ordered, and followed behind Morris. I kept my distance as I tailed him. I closed this case tonight and moved onto the next one. In the next few hours Morris would be in a jail cell and soon be sentenced to life in prison.

After a few turns, he seemed to catch onto someone tailing him. He glanced over his shoulder multiple times as he picked up speed and his movements became erratic. Unfortunately for him, I knew this town's layout by heart. Part of my paranoia of getting cornered by someone. I was the hunter and he just so happened to be the doe.

Morris took a sharp turn and disappeared behind a wall. He probably thought he could get the better of me and lose my trail. Right about now he was probably panicking. He'd just turned into a dead end. Unless his ego was getting the better of him. He could be thinking he could overpower me and easily kill me. Little did he know. I've been trained for this sort of thing since birth. I had to become the person I am today to be able to survive. People have hunted me since I first came into this world. I figured I'd turn the tables on them and hunt them myself.

I scanned the streets for any signs of life. Nothing. Perfect. My hand wrapped around the handle to my retractable sword. Morris would be cuffed and locked in a cell in no time. That would be his home for the rest of his life. Along with any other monsters I put in jail.

I quickly rounded the corner to the alley only to pause. Bloody hell, Coulson. I sighed as I took my hand off of my sword's handle and looked at the already tied up Morris and Coulson standing next to him with a few other men. Coulson had a small smirk on his face as he met my eyes.

"You've been ignoring my calls, thought I'd stop in and give you some assistance." Coulson smiled, knowing full well I could've handled it by myself.

"I can see that much." I gestured to Morris, before looking back at Coulson. "I'm assuming this isn't just a friendly visit."

"We need you back." Coulson signaled to his men to take Morris away.

"Why me? You know what I've done." I took a few steps towards the wall of the alley and leaned against it. "Why choose someone like me?"
