A few hours went by as we worked on the old radio. I kept watch, making sure Ultron didn't catch on to us. Soon, we were up and running and Natasha had sent out a message in hopes Barton was on our channel. Some time went by before we finally got a return message. The team was on their way.

"Now we wait." Natasha turned to me. "The rest of the team, they don't know?"

"No they don't." I turned away from Natasha as I spoke again. "I can't stay. I'm gonna have to leave again."

"But the team, they won't care. You're still one of us whether you like it or not." Natasha pressed, I only sighed.

"It doesn't matter what the team thinks." I paused, as I fidgeted with the ring. "There's people out there who will remember me, they'll put targets on our backs. Then there's the people who will want to use me for science, or the ones who deem me a monster and lock me away."

"But you're not a monster and the team will protect you." Natasha's voice was almost pleading at this point.

"I'm sorry, but I can't." I turned to face her. "It's been coming for a while."

Natasha looked down and went quiet. It didn't matter that she knew. It didn't matter if anyone on the team found out, but outside that circle. If anyone outside of my family learned the truth there would be problems. Major problems and I wasn't willing to drag them into them. I had to leave, now more than ever. I'd see this fight with Ultron through and then I'd have to leave and this time it would be permanent.

I couldn't stay no matter what. Natasha couldn't see why. No one could even see why. It's why I always faked my death. It was easier for others and myself. I never had to watch people die and they would never figure out who I was.

"Please don't go." Natasha locked eyes with me and for the first time in the years knowing her I saw desperation in her face.

"I'll see this battle through, and then we'll see." I softly smiled as I lied to her.

No matter what she said she couldn't keep me here. If I stayed there was no telling what would happen. Leaving was the only way I could tell what would happen. She'd let go of me eventually, along with the rest of the team.

Natasha nodded before sitting down on the ground. I couldn't tell if she had caught onto my lie or not. Probably, though. She was a spy after all. I sat down next to her and wrapped my arm around her shoulder. Out of everyone I've ever met, she was the only one I grew to view as a sister. The only one that came close to filling the hole Ela had left.

Leaving this time was going to be harder than ever. Which was why I was glad she hadn't pushed harder for me to stay. I probably would've caved if she did. I had so many emotional ties this time around. I usually tried to keep my circle small, only getting close with 2 or 3 people, but this time I had made so many friends. I had made myself a family.

Silence fell as we waited. The team would be here in like an hour or two, if they took the jet. The silence was comforting in a way. Both of us took what time we had left to be with each other. It wasn't like we had a choice, but still. It was comforting.

My eyes scanned the room beyond the cell door. My swords and other weapons laid on a table. I'd grab them once we got out of here. Natasha's guns laid alongside my swords. Sometime passed in silence, the occasional sound of one of us shifting breaking it every now and then. Then a faint voice broke it.

"Natasha. Jay."

I rose to my feet quickly realizing who it was. Natasha followed my lead as we moved by the cell door. Footsteps came towards us as Natasha spoke.

"Bruce?" Banner rounded the corner and quickly spotted us.

"You two all right?" Banner asked as he looked at the blood on the floor.

"Yeah we're good." I answered, not fully ready to explain just yet.

"The teams in the city. It's about to light up." Banner explained.

"I don't suppose you found a key lying around somewhere." Natasha looked down at the cell door.

"Yeah. I did." Banner held up some sort of gun, and Natasha and I moved out of the way.

Banner shot the lock and I moved to push open the door. Once we were out, I headed straight to my swords and threw them on. I handed Natasha her guns as she turned towards Banner with a question.

"So what's our play?"

Banner glanced towards me, nervous. I laughed slightly knowing what he wanted to do. He had come to get Natasha and run with her. Not wanting to get wrapped up in their, well whatever it was. I moved towards Natasha and pulled her into a hug, knowing this might be the last time we saw each other.

"I'll see you in a few." I smiled softly, before turning to Banner. "Don't make me keep that promise I made."

He smiled softly and handed me an earpiece. I nodded at him as I went to leave. Reaching the door, I paused hearing a whistle. I looked back at Natasha as she softly smiled. It was something she had always done with her sister. I smiled as I returned the whistle, before leaving.
