Everyone moved quickly, getting their weapons and suiting up. I glanced around the room for a moment before using my powers to transform my clothes into my Asgardian armor. I summoned a dagger to my hand and strapped it to my belt, before summoning a sword to my hand. Glancing up my eyes stopped on Rogers, Rhodey and Natasha, who had all stopped what they were doing to look at me in astonishment. Catching my eyes Rogers and Rhodey looked away, going back to what they were doing. Natasha only nodded before going back to strapping on her holster.

Once everyone was done, we started out of the, now landed, ship and towards where Danvers said Thanos was. We walked for a few minutes before a small hut came into view. Danvers went in ahead of us, smashing through the roof and towards Thanos.

Bruce was the next to enter, in the hulkbuster Stark had made. Bruce had been having some sort of problem summoning the Hulk so he took the next best thing. Rhodey followed behind him. Next it was Thor and I.

We entered to find Thanos with his arms being held in place by Bruce and Rhodey and Dnavers holding him in a headlock. Thor moved quickly, slicing off Thanos's hand that still had the gauntlet on it. Thanos screamed in pain as the hand tumbled to the ground.

Rocket, Natasha and Rogers entered the room. Rocket immediately went to the gauntlet as Rogers and Natasha watched Thanos closely. Rocket flippe dove the gauntlet, his face going pale and soon I realized why.

"Oh, no." The only words Rocket managed to say as he looked down at the gauntlet.

Everyone's attention was drawn to the gauntlet and the same reactions filled the room. It was empty. The stones gone. Thanos had hidden them somewhere or he had done something to them.

"Where are they?" I looked towards Thanos, trying to hide the desperation in my voice, but only getting silence in return.

"Answer the question." Danvers tightened her grip around Thanos's neck.

"The universe required correction." Thanos spoke breathily. "After that, the stones served no purpose, beyond temptation."

"You murdered trillions." Bruce snapped as he shoved Thanos to the ground.

"You should be grateful." Thanos's words were strong as he sat up, only to be cut off by Rhodey's fist connecting with his face.

"Where are the stones?" Natasha spoke her voice level, but I could see it in her face that she desperately wanted her sister back.

"Gone." Thanos locked eyes with her. "Reduced to atoms."

"You used them two days ago." Bruce spoke, not believing Thanos.

"I used the stones to destroy the stones." Thanos answered, his face dead honest. "It nearly killed me, but the work is done. It always will be. I am inevitable."

Everyone went silent. Some believed him while others didn't. Thanos had no reason to lie. He had destroyed the stones, there was no doubt in that, it's why I couldn't feel their energy. They were gone. Loki was gone for good. Yelana, Fury, Lila, Coulson. Everyone. Gone. Just like that. I should've never let that seed of hope grow. I knew where it led, where it always led.

"We have to tear this place apart." Rhodey looked at us desperately. "He has to be lying."

"My father is many things," Nebula spoke softly as she walked into the hut. "A liar is not one of them."

"Thank you, daughter." Thanos looked to Nebula, noticing her for the first time. "Perhaps I treated you too harshly."

Before Thanos could finish Thor was swinging his ax. He was going to kill him. No. He couldn't not yet, maybe there was still a way and maybe Thanos knew it. I tried to move fast enough to make a shield between Thanos and the ax, but it was Stormbreaker, something that could break through the barrier, especially if I didn't have enough time to strengthen it.

Thanos's head fell to the ground as everyone fell silent staring at the lifeless body. What the hell Thor? Why couldn't he see that he just took our chance away? That was our last shot. What if Thanos knew how to get the stones back? What if he knew of something more powerful? We could've still won. We could've gotten Loki back.

"What did you do?" Rocket asked softly, staring at Thanos.

"I went for the head." Thor looked at Thanos's body almost as if he was shocked by his own actions.

He couldn't be. He knew what he was doing. He just killed our brother. We could've saved him. We could've, if it wasn't for him killing our only chance. Thor stumbled out the door, leaving us all in shock at what had just happened. It was all his fault and he was just going to walk away. I don't think so.

I went for the door, walking past Natasha, who quickly read my face and stepped out of my way. I quickly caught up with Thor, creating a barrier in front of him, causing him to walk into it and stumble backwards. He turned around confused, but soon his eyes locked with mine. My fist connected with his face before I could stop myself.

"What the hell did you do?" I yelled at him as he stumbled back. "He was our last chance to get Loki back!"

"There were no chances left and someone like him shouldn't be left alive." Thor snapped back, as he rubbed his jaw.

"You just killed everyone who got snapped!" I couldn't bite my tongue as the next sentence left my mouth, fueled by anger. "You killed Loki!"

"I-" Thor went to speak but stopped as my words sunk in.

He stepped back from me, betrayal on his face. It wasn't me who betrayed him this time. This time he betrayed me. He ruined our chance. Thor's eyes locked on something behind us, before he looked away and started to walk back to the ship.

I went to follow him only to feel a hand fall on my shoulder. I turned quickly, coming face to face with Natasha. She looked at me softly, but I pushed her hand off my shoulder. Why couldn't anyone see Thor just ruined everything? There was no hope left. Everything was gone, everyone. I had failed half of life. I failed at my job. I had failed at everything. I was a failure.
