My hand brushed through Bastard's fur as the cat curled into my leg, turns out leaving Bastard alone made it anxious. I watched the others as they all relaxed and spoke with their friends. Everyone had their wounds tended to at this point. I had promised myself I'd heal as many of them as I could once I regained some strength.

Strange had portaled whoever wanted to come to my house. A few people had wanted to grab family members before coming. A portal opened and closed as Natasha walked through with who I presumed to be Yelena, her sister. Before I could get up from under the tree I had taken sanction under, a small voice came from next to me.

"Daddy said I should bring you some food, Sammy." I glanced towards Morgan as she extended a plate to me.

I smiled at the nickname she had learned to call me, thanks to Tony. The kid couldn't say Samurai and Tony barely used my real name, hence Morgan learned to call me Sammy. I took the plate from Morgan as her eyes stared at the bandage that covered the cut I had across my face. It was fairly nasty I couldn't blame her for being curious.

"I'm okay," I spoke softly as I patted the spot next to me, but on the opposite side of Bastard so the cat could get a break from Morgan. Morgan sat next to me as I wrapped an arm around her shoulder, after placing the plate of food she brought me on my lap. "Everythings going to be okay now."

"How do you know?" Morgan placed her head on my side as her voice was soft. The kid had learned the world wasn't a good place, but she had to at some point. I'd be here to watch over her, she'd be fine as long as I lived. I placed a small kiss to the top of her head as I tightened my arm around her for a moment as a hug.

"Because, I believe it will."

I really did believe everything would be better now. I had my brothers, alive and well. I had my non-blood family. I was no longer cursed, which meant I would live just as long as my brothers, if I was lucky enough. I had everything I could ask for. Morgan began to stir in her spot, signaling that the child had sat still long enough. I removed my arm from around her, allowing her to run off and bug Pepper and Tony. I didn't get to stay in my silence for long, before Loki's voice came into my mind.

I'm surprised that child liked you.

I smiled softly at Loki's jab, before glancing up to look for him. My eyes scanned over everyone before I noticed him far away from the crowd, leaning against a tree. A small smile played on his lips as we locked eyes, but I could see he was hesitant to be here. Even though he helped in the battle, he still felt as though the Avengers hated him, and they might, but he was my brother, so they could suck it up.

Come join me brother, I'm still a little too tired for magic.

Loki's body stiffened at my words as I exaggerated my weakened state. A moment passed before he started towards me. As I waited for him, I took a bite of the sandwich Morgan had brought me, but I didn't take any more before taking the deli meat off of it and giving it to Bastard. Settling on eating just the bun instead, since the meat tasted weird to me.

Once Loki made it to my side, he slid down against the tree, taking the spot next to Bastard. I half expected the cat to get up and walk away, but instead it gave Loki one look and decided that it liked him and sprawled out enough to touch Loki as well as me. I smiled softly at Loki as he pet Bastard.

"What?" Loki looked towards me, noticing the smile on my face.

"Bastard's never done that before." Loki raised an eyebrow as he looked down at the cat, who had closed its eyes and was thoroughly enjoying Loki's strokes on its side. Even after bonding with Bastard, I could see that Loki was still very uncomfortable being here as he glanced over the people. With a sigh I looked towards my brother. "You know, I told them you weren't yourself during New York." I honestly didn't remember if I did or not, but whatever. Loki needed some form of comfort and this is what I had to offer. "They don't hold it against you."
