We nodded towards Stark who branched away from us. He wouldn't be joining us in the quinjet. Natasha gestured to the quinjet we would be stealing as I branched off to grab my bike. It would be useful, probably. I reached its side and waited till I watched the agent inside the jet leave after the others entered. I quickly pushed the bike inside as the hatch closed behind me.
I moved up front in the pilot's seat next to Clint and started starting up the jet. We needed to move fast. We were doing this without Fury's permission. They'd catch onto us sooner or later. I glanced over to Clint's side making sure he had everything good to go, before I pressed the final button to start up the quinjet.
Soon, we were up in the air and headed for New York. Stark had figured out where Loki was gonna set up his machine, Stark tower. Stark flew ahead in his suit, since he could get there faster. No one really talked as we made our way to Stark tower.
Reaching the outskirts of Manhattan, we looked on in shock. The Tesseract had opened a portal to allow the Chitauri into our world. They flooded the streets, causing chaos everywhere. I glanced over to Clint, who watched in awe. I turned on my headset to speak with Stark.
"Stark, we're on your three, headed northeast."
"What? Did you stop for drive-through?" Stark spoke. "Swing up Park. I'm gonna lay 'em out for you."
I followed as Stark said and swung up through Park. Clint prepared the gun to the ship as we neared an opening between buildings. Stark flew through the intersection seconds later. I steadied the ship as Chitauri followed Stark. Clint unleashed bullets into the Chitauri.
They dispersed as I swung the quinjet up and back towards Stark tower. Clint fired at any Chitauri that crossed our path. Rounding a building, Stark tower came into full view. Thor and Loki were both fighting on the balcony.
"Clint." I spoke, trying to draw his attention to Loki.
"I see him." Clint answered as I turned the jet to face Loki and Thor.
Clint began to fire at Loki, only for Loki to counter with a blast from his scepter. Loki's blast was perfect aim as it hit one of the engines. Damn it. The jet began to spin out of control. I tried to steer the jet to the best of my ability to miss buildings as we plummeted. We were going down, there was no changing that.
"Hold on."
Seeing an open area, I steered the jet towards there. The impact was hard as we hit the solid ground. I pulled my headset and belt off, and popped open the hatch. The others walked out of the hatch after me as I grabbed my bikes keys, and left the bike behind for now. I popped in my earpiece and started towards Rogers, Natasha, and Clint.
"We gotta get back up there." Rogers spoke, taking the lead.
We ran down the street. Reaching an overpass, we paused and stared up at Stark tower. The sounds of groaning metal coming from the portal in the sky. Everything in my body froze as a giant armored Leviathan, I think that's what Thor called it, came through the portal.
It started down the street flying above us. Chitauri warriors jumped from the side of the beast and latched onto buildings, immediately attacking anyone in sight. More Chitauri flew out from the portal. At this point we were hilariously out matched.
"Stark, are you seeing this?" Rogers looked up at the creatures in awe.
"Seeing. Still working on believing." Stark responded. "Where's Banner? Has he shown up yet?"
"Banner?" Rogers asked, confused.
"Just keep me posted." Stark finished as he flew past us and towards the Leviathan.
