I followed Clint into the compound catching him up on a few things about me, that way he wouldn't be left in the complete dark. I glanced around as we entered where Tony was building the machine to time travel. My eyes landed on Tony, Thor, and Rocket.
I paused on Thor. He had fallen down a dark hole, with a beer in his hand, probably his 10th of the day, and his hair a mess. Most of all he had put on weight, a lot of weight. I had caused that, if I hadn't exploded and left I could've changed that.
"Nice of you to join us, Samurai." Tony's voice drew my attention to him, but my eyes went back to Thor as he noticed me.
His face contorted in a way I couldn't identify, due to the sunglasses blocking me from reading his eyes. If I had to guess, probably hatred or confusion. I had hurt him and I understand that now. I shouldn't have blamed him. It was never his fault. There was no hope left. There was no way to get the stones back, but now there was and I owed Thor an apology. Not now, not with people around. It was something that needed to just be between the two of us.
"I figured you could use an extra set of hands." I answered as I looked away from Thor and towards Tony. "Where do you need me?"
"Try the lab, I'm sure Bruce and Scott could use more hands." Tony answered as he hooked something up to the machine.
I nodded and looked towards Clint for help. I hadn't been in this compound a lot, it was still fairly new to me. He smirked softly, probably amused by the fact a god was asking him for help with directions. He pointed in a direction and I followed behind him as he started towards the lab.
Clint reached a doorway and glanced in on Bruce, Nebula, Scott, and Rhodey working on something. Clint held up his hand to me signaling just to watch for a few moments. I looked at him confused, but didn't question him as I leaned against the door frame.
I paused on Bruce who had somehow merged with the Hulk or something. I don't know. He was big and green, but he was still conscious and himself. That's all I could tell from just watching him. I had a feeling he had some explanation for it.
Nebula scanned over the suit Scott was wearing before she nodded to Bruce. Bruce grabbed a vial of red stuff, that I couldn't identify, and pressed a button on Scott's suit. A compartment opened revealing a spot for the vial to go. Scott quickly stopped him from pulling the vial in the open compartment.
"Hey. Easy." Scott stopped Bruce's hand from moving as the helmet to the suit opened.
"I'm being very careful." Bruce defended himself as he looked towards Scott.
"No, you're being very Hulky." Scott took the vial from Bruce's hand.
"I'm being careful." Bruce stepped back from Scott.
"These are Pym Particles, all right?" Scott spoke, clearly on edge, as he held up the vial for Bruce to see. "And ever since Hank Pym got snapped out of existence, this is it. This is what we have. We're not making any more."
"Scott," Rhodey looked at Scott and tried to calm him down. "Calm down."
"Sorry." Scott sighed trying to shake off his nerves. "We've got enough for one round-trip each. That's it. No do-overs. Plus two test runs."
Scott's words were met with silence as he placed the vial into the slot on the suit. A small yell came from the man as the suit's helmet closed and he shrank. I stood up straight confused as Scott came back to a normal size and the helmet opened up.
"One test run." He sighed as he looked towards Rhodey. "All right. I'm not ready for this."
"I'll do it." I spoke, bringing attention to Clint and I, as Clint looked at me like I was crazy. "Out of everyone here, me going and something bad happening would be the least to matter. I'll live through it without aging."
