Banging on the doors outside echoed through the throne room. I sat on the ground, leaning against the throne Ela was sitting on. We hadn't gotten around to making a second throne yet. Fenris laid next to us, his massive head right next to me. The wolf had always taken a liking to me, over Ela. I absentmindedly stroked Fenris's head as Skurge entered the room.

"What is that noise?" Ela asked, looking towards Skurge.

"The common folk aren't exactly falling into line." Skurge stopped at the bottom of the steps leading to the throne. "There's a resistance trying to knock down the front gates."

I glanced up towards Ela, to see what she thought we should do. She glanced up at the troops of the undead warriors and signaled to them to go handle it. Whatever that meant to her. They'd probably just run them away from the castle. Nothing more, hopefully.

"Tell us about yourself, Skurge." Ela spoke, as the warriors left the throne room.

"Well," Skurge paused to think for a moment. "Me dad was a stonemason, me mom was-"

"I'll just stop you there." Ela cut in. "What I meant was what is your ambition?"

"I just want a chance to prove myself." Skurge answered after a second of silence.

"Recognition." I looked towards Skurge, getting a nod from him, and then I glanced up at Ela before speaking again. "When we were young every great king had an executioner. Not just to execute people, but also to execute their vision."

I paused for a moment as Ela's voice came through my head.

Don't give him the wrong idea, Eir.

Her warning brought attention to the fact I had made it seem as though our executioner would have a say in what we wanted to do. In reality they wouldn't. They'd only be a piece in our game. We wanted Skurge to be ours because he was easy to understand and he understood what we wanted.

"But mainly to execute people." I locked eyes with Skurge as I back tracked. "It was still a great honor."

"I was Odin's executioner." Ela rose to her feet and walked towards Skurge.

She started down the steps and towards Skurge. I sighed softly as I stopped petting Fenris and followed after Ela. Behind me, I heard Fenris shift and huff slightly. Reaching Ela's side, she summoned a double sided axe to her hand and extended it to Skurge.

"And you will be our executioner." Ela locked eyes with me. "Let's begin our conquest."

I smiled at her as she spoke. It was time to finally set our plan into motion. Skurge walked off with his new axe in his hand to rally the troops. It didn't take long before our warriors were trailing behind us as we walked down the Bi-Frost bridge and towards the observatory. Our start to our conquest came to a screeching halt as we reached the observatory. Of course, something always had to get in the way.

"Skurge, where's the sword?" I asked, looking towards where the bi-frost should've been. "That sword is the key to opening the Bi-Frost."

Skurge didn't speak as he rushed to where the sword should've been. I glanced over to Ela who seemed to be seething in anger. We wouldn't be able to go on our conquest without it. We needed to find it. Someone must've stolen it.

"Those people you mentioned," Ela looked towards Skurge. "The ones that aren't falling into line. Round them up."
