"It's good to see you again, Daughter." His voice stung my ears.
"I was never your daughter, and I never will be." I snapped back as I stepped towards him. "You're finally dying, old man. It's a shame that Ela won't be here to see it."
"But she'll be here soon and you need to help your brothers stop her from destroying our home." His voice was calm.
I laughed as I looked over the two familiar faces. Both of them I had fought with. Either against or with. Now they were finally learning the truth about their father. I could feel my powers returning by the second. Ela would be here any moment and he would be dead.
"Me, help them kill her? Old age has dulled your brain, Odin." I turned to face Thor and Loki. "I don't know what he's told you, but we aren't the bad guys here. He is. He's the one that turned his back on us. Not us. We fought by your side. We saved your father countless times."
"Eir, that's enough." Odin cut me off.
"No, I don't think it is." I locked eyes with him as my anger boiled. "You sentenced me to an eternal hell on this planet. I've watched thousands of people die in my arms, and I couldn't save them. All because you took my powers away. You took everything from me. It's only fitting that I return the favor."
I drew my daggers and stepped towards Odin only for Thor to step in front of me. He locked eyes with me, betrayal in his eyes. Hesitation coated his face as well. Loki shifted next to his brother, read to make a move if he must.
"Jay, don't make me do this." Thor's voice was soft.
"I'm not going to make you do anything." I locked eyes on Loki. "You're really going to protect him? After he lied to you about your true parentage. I made the same mistake. Don't follow in my footsteps. Help me kill him now and I'll make sure you have a throne beside Ela and I."
"He's still my father, even if it isn't by blood." Loki locked eyes with me, what happened to the Loki I knew from New York?
"Jay-" Thor went to start.
"That's not my name and I'm sure he told you that much." I cut Thor off.
"Thor, if it will make my mistakes right, let her kill me." Odin spoke from behind Thor.
"But father-" Thor turned to his father as I cut him off again.
"Now, you're finally making sense." I pushed past Thor and stood in front of Odin.
I flipped a blade in my hand, thinking of all the ways this could end. Before I could do anything, I was knocked to the side. I rolled to my feet and faced Thor, who had hit me with his hammer. I glared at him as he looked at me sadly. Odin only watched as Loki and Thor stood in front of me and him.
"We once fought side by side." Thor sighed. "Please, don't make me have to kill you."
"We both know that's not possible." I laughed as I moved into action.
I threw a knife at Thor. He dodged it easily, as I reached his side. I quickly knocked him off his feet as Loki came at me with a dagger. I tangled my arms in his and sent him flying. Thor struck me with his hammer and I tumbled to the ground. I cursed as I turned to face Thor again. I paused as a feeling of power overwhelmed me.
"Thor." Loki's voice was panicked, causing both of us to look towards him.
I locked on Odin as he turned to dust, muttering one last 'I love you' to his sons. I couldn't help but feel disappointed that his death wasn't by my hands. Soon a smile fell on my face as I realized my powers had returned. I could feel them coursing through my veins. And if that wasn't enough, then it happened. The line that had been silent for over a millennium, had finally broken its silence.
It's been awhile, Eir.
