We definitely did not handle it with ease. It all happened so fast. We fought valiantly for a while, but then everything changed. They stormed our ship so fast. There weren't many of them, only five of them but they had caused the same amount of damage an army would've. Half our people were dead, their bodies scattered across the ground. Loki had been cornered and was being held at knife point. Thor and I were at the feet of the mad titan. Thor was barely holding on and my wounds aren't healing fast enough, making it so I couldn't do anything.

"Hear me, and rejoice." One of the five spoke, as he stepped over the bodies of our people. "You have had the privilege of being saved by the Great Titan. You may think this is suffering. No. It is salvation. Universal scales tip toward balance because of your sacrifice. Smile. For even in death, you have become Children of Thanos."

An eerie silence followed after the man's words. Thanos. I had heard legends of the man. Not once did I believe them to be true. I was wrong, so wrong. He had taken Thor and I down so easily, we didn't even stand a chance.

"I know what it's like to lose." Thanos stood above Thor and I as he spoke. "To feel so desperately that you're right, yet to fail, nonetheless."

A moment of silence followed before he reached down grabbing both Thor and I by our necks. Thor let out a few groans of pain as he fought against the hold. I stayed silent. Not because I wasn't in pain, but because I was. For the first time in forever, someone had pushed me to the point of feeling such an incredible pain, that it paralyized me. I could barely even keep my eyes open at this point.

"It's frightening. Turns the legs to jelly. I ask you, to what end?" Thanos dropped Thor and I to the ground as he reached in front of Loki. "Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same. And now, it's here. Or should I say, I am."

Thanos held up his gauntlet which held one of the six infinity stones, the power stone. His goal was to get all six, I doubt he ever would, considering no one knew where the soul stone was. Even at that, if he got the five that are known, then he would be unstoppable.

I slowly pushed myself up on my elbows as my injuries were finally healed to a point I could move slightly. I was quickly pulled to my knees as Thanos grabbed me by my hair. I let out a small groan at the rapid movement, causing a protest in my body. I glanced over towards an exhausted Thor, who had also been forced to his knees on the other side of Thanos.

"You talk too much." Thor groaned as he spit blood from his mouth.

"The Tesseract, or their heads." Thanos looked at Loki, as the stone on the gauntlet holding me in place began to glow. "I assume you have a preference."

"Oh, I do." Loki locked eyes with me, sending me a pitiful look, before stoning his face. "Kill away."

A searing pain coursed through my head as the stone glowed brighter. I bit my lip trying to fight off any noise that tried to escape my mouth, but ultimately failed as the pain became too much. A scream left my lips as the pain only increased. My screams were accompanied by Thor's as Loki looked away trying to shield his eyes from what Thanos was doing.

"Alright!" Loki broke, as he yelled at Thanos. "Stop!"

Thanos released the power of the stone, stopping the increasing pain. I gasped for breath as I spit blood from my mouth. I glanced over to Thor, who was panting as he tried to gain his breath as well.

"We don't have the Tesseract." I spoke, my breaths still not evening out. "It was destroyed on Asgard."

My eyes locked on Loki's and immediately I knew I was wrong. He had taken the Tesseract from the vault, that's why he followed me. Loki sent Thor and I a pitiful look before summoning the Tesseract to his hand.
