Silence filled the jet, as everyone turned to doing what they wanted to fill the wait to get to Avengers tower. Banner had found a spot away from everyone and was listening to music, before Natasha interrupted him and they started to talk. I smiled softly, Natasha and Banner had grown closer over the years. She deserves someone like him, after everything she's been through. Stark was piloting the jet, since Clint wasn't an option and I was the only one on board with a small amount of medical training. I had learned it back when I was young. When I still aged. I lied to the group saying it was something I learned to be more useful to the team.

"Thor," Natasha broke the silence. "Report on the Hulk."

"The gates of hell are filled with the screams of his victims." Natasha quickly turned to glare at Thor, who's smile faded, becoming aware that what he said wasn't what she wanted to hear. "But not the screams of the dead, of course. No, no, wounded screams. Mainly whimmering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoids and gout."

"Hey, Banner," Stark cut off Thor's rambling. "Dr.Cho is on her way in from Seoul. Is it okay if she sets up in your lab?"

"Uh, yeah, she knows her way around." Banner answered, turning to face Stark.

"Thanks." Stark turned back to piloting for a few moments before putting it into auto pilot and joining Rogers and Thor's sides.

I sat in silence staring out a window. Natasha and Banner were still talking and Clint had fallen asleep. My eye traced the clouds as we passed them. It was something that never seemed to change. Even after thousands of years. I've watched civilizations grow, I've helped civilizations grow.

I wasn't one to make an impact on the world. I've always tried to stay hidden as well as I could. So far no one's caught on to me. At least there wasn't any solid evidence on me. There were mortal legends out there about me. My name has changed throughout the years, from Merlin to Eir. I've had thousands of names. I've lived thousands of lives and sooner or later I'd have to fake my death.

I couldn't stick around for too much longer, Clint or Natasha would begin to notice I haven't aged. I've been working with them for almost 7 years. They'd catch on at some point, they weren't stupid. I couldn't tell them no matter how much I wanted to.

Last time I told someone, they turned against me. The time before that they burned me at the stake and sparked a murderous witch hunt all over the world. Telling people never worked out. Even in today's society, where aliens and superheroes existed, it was too much of a risk. Especially now. I could be captured. Forced to undergo tests. I could be locked away in the darkest hole known to mankind. I couldn't tell anyone. They'd turn against me. I already knew I was a monster, no one else needed to look at me like that.

Glancing up as the jet landed, I rose to my feet to go with Clint to the lab. Natasha followed as well as we made it to Banner's lab. I stayed quiet, watching from the back as Dr.Cho worked on fixing Clint with some sort of skin graft machine.

"Are you sure he's gonna be okay?" Natasha looked towards Dr.Cho, a smile playing on her lips. "Pretending to need this guy really brings the team together."

"There's no possibility of deterioration. The nano-molecular functionality is instantaneous." Dr.Cho pressed a button on the machine as Banner entered the room. "His cells don't know they're bonding with simulacra."

"She's creating tissue." Banner broke it down, looking impressed at Dr.Cho.

"If you brought him to my lab, the Regeneration Cradle could do this in 20 minutes." Dr.Cho looked towards Natasha.

"Oh, he's flat-lining. Call it. Time?" Stark entered carrying a tray of drinks.

"No, no, no, I'm gonna live forever." Clint laughed. "I'm gonna be made of plastic."

"You'll be made of you, Mr.Barton." Dr.Cho spoke, as Stark handed out the drinks he brought. "Your own girlfriend won't be able to tell the difference."

"I don't have a girlfriend." Clint sort of lied, before taking a sip from his drink.

"That I can't fix." Dr.Cho smiled softly. "This is the next thing, Tony. Your clunky metal suits are gonna be left in the dust."

"That is exactly the plan." Stark nodded. "And, Helen, I expect you to see you at the party on Saturday."

"Unlike you, I don't have a lot of time for parties." Dr.Cho shutdown Stark but quickly changed her mind. "Will Thor be there?"

"He should." Stark answered, before turning to Banner. "I could use your help with something in the lab."

Banner nodded as Stark walked out the door and followed close behind. Soon after, I followed. There wasn't any point in me just sitting around and just just watching. I moved through the hallways and to the elevator.

Once it reached what I called the living floor, I stepped out. It was basically the floor with all the bedrooms, kitchen, and other stuff like that. I headed towards my room and clicked on my tv. I absentmindedly listened to it as I pulled off my damaged suit. I tossed into the pile of dirty clothing in the corner of my room, before grabbing a towel and heading into my bathroom.

I caught myself in the mirror before looking away quickly. I had no scars. No signs that I wasn't a monster. I couldn't even get tattoos, they'd heal and fade within an hour of getting them. My body had no signs of individuality. Something that no one ever wanted, but I did. Everything that's happened hasn't stayed. It's just a memory, with no proof of ever happening.

I stepped into the shower allowing the cool water to run down my body. The blood that had littered to spot where I had been shot, got pulled down the drain. My hands ran through my hair as I washed the shampoo from my hair. I turned off the water and wrapped myself in a towel before heading out of my bathroom.

I opened up my dresser and looked past my spare suits. I wouldn't be needing them for at least the next three days. At the end of day three Stark would be throwing a party, for some reason. He'd explained it to me, but I didn't bother to remember. All I knew is I wasn't allowed to skip it.

I pulled on some casual clothes and sat down on my bed. I clicked through the channels on my tv absentmindedly. Finally settling on a channel, I laid back and relaxed. Not soon after I fell asleep.
