JENNIE POV:

"Lalisa..." I muttered subconsciously upon seeing this slag woman standing in front of my house, waiting for me to come out.

I clenched my fist for a moment, but I didn't want to look agitated in front of Lisa because I know Lisa wasn't worth all my attention after all she did to me.

Thus, I looked at her straight in the eyes and asked, "Manoban, what do you want here? I thought you're having a nice date with your childhood sweetheart there."

"No, Jen, I can explain this. It's all misunderstanding," Lisa said.

I glared at her and then told my mom, "Mom, can you give us some time alone?"

My mom sighed and turned her back, leaving us alone. I used my sandal and told Lisa to come with me. I guided her to the small hill near my house and then asked her to sit down on a bench under a tree.

"Jennie, you're not going to sit with me?" Lisa asked.

Seriously, this kid still had the audacity to ask me to sit side by side with her after she hurt me badly. I actually cried for a whole minute while I was running away from her before.

I didn't even think it could hurt this bad, but it was really painful as if I had been stabbed in my heart.

I noticed that Lisa's clothes were all dirty from the mud. I remembered the last time I saw her, she tripped and slumped because she tried to chase me. In fact, even her face was dirty from the mud, and she was still barefooted. Maybe her shoes were lost somewhere when she tripped.

Lisa looked at me earnestly as if wishing that I would pity her.

Yes, I should be ruthless enough not to pity her. But when I saw her rugged state, I couldn't help but want to take care of her. I sighed and said, "Wait here, I will return."

I went to my house for a moment, then I returned with a bucket of warm water and a towel.

I sat beside her and then dipped the towel inside the bucket and wiped Lisa's face carefully.

"Aish, look at your condition right now? You're covered in mud, and your expensive shirt has been torn beyond saving! Can you even take care of yourself? Be careful next time, okay? I don't want you to get hurt."

"Why are you going here without a slipper or shoes? Aish, this is not the city, Manoban. What if you stepped on a sharp flint or something?" I chided even more.

"Answer me, ah, if you can't answer me, that means you're guilty! Don't you realize that you fell face-first to the mud before? Look at your bruises! Be careful next time!"

"Jennie, did you finally forgive me?" Lisa asked.

I stopped wiping her face and hands after realized what I've been doing the whole time. We were in the middle of a cold fight. How could I just casually chided her and wiped her face carefully? I should've shoved this towel to her mouth!

I got up from the bench and threw the towel to Lisa's face, "You wipe yourself!" I yelled.

Lisa was dazed for a moment, and I didn't want to miss this chance to run as fast as I could because I know it'd be tough for me to get away once I see that deadly puppy eyes again.
