Chapter 73

JENNIE POV:

I went to my office in the morning as usual, but my mood had been relatively low since I woke up. Because I spent the whole night trying to find a rental girlfriend that I could hire to meet my parents this Saturday to no avail.

Somehow, everyone suddenly became fully booked in my Rent A Girlfriend app. I literally almost clicked the profiles one by one, and all of them became fully booked.

It made me wonder if someone booked them all for a almond party or something.

And there was only one person left for me to order. When I scrolled down to her order queue, all of the previous orders had been rejected by her which was still surprising, at least for me.

"Hm... Lisa is just surprisingly very consistent with me...' I thought as I scrolled her profile on the bus.

I always chuckled whenever I read her slogan because it kept making me think that special woman was actually me. It would be such an honor for me, though, to be favored by a business tycoon, hehe.

I pocketed my phone and stopped at the bus stop near my office. I walked to the office alone, holding few documents because Mr. Marco said he had an important meeting this morning, so I had to prepare myself.

I saw AlexPriest already standing in the corridor, working early today. Our eyes met alongside the smile from that beautiful face, but I turned my head, not wanting to see such beauty in the morning that would distract me.

"Aww,Jennie, are you embarrassed after our first date last night?" Alex asked, half giggling.

"Embarrassed? To you? HAH, I would never even bat an eye on you!" I replied harshly in the lift, but Alex didn't seem to be discouraged. In fact, the smile on her gorgeous face bloomed even more.

The elevator was only filled with us. The atmosphere felt different and intimate as well.

"Jennie, I know what you're stressed about. You're stressed because of me, right?"

"Huh?"

"Because you can't forget the kiss that I gave you last night, hmm?" Alex guessed with a smirk to me. Which made me even more disgusted.

"Oh, come on, why would I remember something like that?" I yelled at her. It was true though, any memory about kissing Alex was washed away instantly when I kissed Lisa yesterday.

I could still feel it when her lips brushed on mine, it was more like a quick peck, but it was still very memorable and made my face reddened.

But I shook my head again. This was not the best time to remember such sweet memory, knowing that Alex might have misunderstood and assumed that I was thinking about her.

"Ms. Priest, we are in the office. Please refrain from calling small names in the office. It's quite inappropriate. Please maintain your professionality and call me Secretary Kim or Miss Kim instead."

"Sure, Paper Bag Secretary~."

"You—!" Alex just smiled and winked. She walked out when the lift finally hit the top floor. I was about to leave the lift as well, but Alex suddenly pressed the close button from outside, and I could only gawk when the lift door was closed, with Alex chuckled evily.
