JENNIE POV:

Madam Manoban was the first one to open the conversation, "You two Especially you, Jennie Kim."

I froze right in front of her.

Mr. Marco got scared, thinking that Madam Manoban would start shaming me right before everyone on my wedding day.

"Come closer," Madam Manoban ordered. I walked closer to her and closed my eyes. I clenched the hem of my dress out of fear.

"Hands off your dress!" Madam Manoban warned me, and I reluctantly released my grip from my dress. "Why are you so scared anyway?"

Well, because I was afraid that you would insult me and degrade me during my wedding day, in front of so many guests.

"Stay still," Madam Manoban said. I followed all her instructions, and I suddenly felt a gentle touch under my left eye on my cheek.

I opened my eyes slowly and saw her squinting at me, trying to pick something from my face.

Madam Manoban clicked her tongue annoyedly, "That makeup artist, I've told her to give you the best look, yet, she still accidentally gave you a slightly uneven shade on your cheek."

"I'll call her later. I will complain," Madam Manoban said.

I blinked out of shock. I didn't expect Madam Manoban to be that attentive to my appearance. I really thought she would slander me, but she just wanted to make sure that my makeup was on point during my wedding day.

"Madam?" I called her. I just didn't expect her to be this kind to me.

"What?"

"Did you just-"

"Yes, I don't want my daughter-in-law to look ugly during her wedding day. So stay still while I'm fixing your shade a bit," Madam Manoban said. "Aish, there is also a falling eyelash. I will have a strict talk with her."

I kept staring at her, and I felt that Madam Manoban wasn't as scary as I thought she was.

True, she had a sharp mouth, but she could be a good person sometimes, especially regarding her daughter's well being, including the person she loved.

"Madam ... "

"Don't call me Madam anymore. You're not my staff or underling. You're now my daughter-in-law. So you must call me with Mother or Mom."

"Mother ... " I nodded obediently. "Thank you for accepting me, Mother .... "

"Don't be too scared of me. You may not be the kind of ideal daughter-in-law I envisioned. But you're my daughter's choice, and you're the first and the only one that can make her look so happy.

That's why I will entrust my daughter's happiness with you. You don't need to worry about money. All you need to do is to be a supportive wife for her."

"I will try my best, Mother," I said.

Madam Manoban smiled, a sincere smile that I saw for the very first time, "Good, now I can entrust my daughter to you. Thank you for accepting her love, Jennie Ruby Jane Kim-Manoban."
