LISA POV:

"Yes, it's about my daughter, Lisa. I want to have a little talk with you."

Lisa held her breath as she continued listening to what her mother was about to say to Jennie. It was too late to stop them from talking to each other, so all she could do right now was to wait and listen.

Jennie got nervous all of a sudden. For some reason, she also realized the seriousness of this talk. She knew it wouldn't be good since she was talking to Madam Evelynn right now, the lady with a vicious mouth from the entertainment industry.

"T-Then, what is it about, Ma'am? Have you decided upon something?" Jennie asked, half expectant, half scared.

There was a long pause on Madam Manoban's side. She sighed deeply, "I don't know how to start this. But congratulations, Jennie Kim, you've successfully bewitched my only daughter. She doesn't even want to listen to me at this point."

"I wonder if you're doing something that makes her so crazy in love with you, I've never seen her with so much determination in her heart," Madam Manoban said. "And I hate you for that."

Jennie gulped. Madam Manoban could throw something so heavy like 'hate' so easily, proving that she still didn't see Jennie as equal as her.

But then again, what did she expect from Madam Manoban anyway? She was the 'high above all' type of woman who could afford to look down on people.

As someone who worked with her husband for seven years, Jennie had to admit that most of her memory with Madam Manoban was just bad or plain humiliating.

Jennie usually ignored her because she knew that was just how Madam Manoban talked and looked at people, but when you were in this position right now, as her potential daughterin-law, things became ten times scarier than they should be.

Lisa felt that it was unnecessary to talk with her, she tried to snatch the phone from Jennie, but Jennie immediately dodged and moved her lips to say the word 'NO' in silence.

Lisa didn't want Jennie to get hurt by her mom's ruthless words. But whenever Lisa tried to snatch the phone, Jennie would dodge and refused to hang up the call.

Jennie took a deep breath to calm herself down, "Ah, I see, Ma'am. I'm sorry that you have to spare your hatred on me. But you should've realized that stubborn character in Lisa .... "

"I do realize it. I just didn't expect it will be that strong. She would usually yield to me and obeyed what I want for her. Because naturally, I want to best for her, my child," Madam Manoban replied. "And I naturally believe that you're not the most fitting for her, Jennie kim."

"Don't you see how overqualified Lisa is for you? I don't even need to explain it. Everything is so obvious right in front of your eyes," Madam Evelynn scoffed. "It's a miracle that Lisa would bat an eye on you. She is just too much for someone so humble."

Lisa was the first one to get angry at her mother's remark. She already told her mother to stay away from her problem, especially about Jennie. She wouldn't tolerate any of the bullshit she spoke about not having the woman at the same level as her and whatsoever.

Lisa believed that Jennie was far above her. Jennie was the kindest, the most beautiful, and the most generous a woman could be! She was the one who should be happy that Jennie wanted to love her!
