JENNIE POV:

I hang up the call when I saw Lisa's car finally moved from the parking lot. I told her to grab me a burger, though I doubted that she would buy me a burger from the fast-food restaurant near the office.

I also doubted that Lisa would buy me a burger in the regular restaurant either.

Oh well, it was Lisa being Lisa. I couldn't do anything against whatever random stuff that she did. I just hoped she would return with real food instead of random food with small portions for an outrageous price.

Yeah, that kind of food wasn't just my taste, won't lie.

"Oh well, not my problem," I returned to my desk and started doing my job. After a while, my phone rang again.

I rolled my eyes, about to scold Lisa for being so clingy. But when I saw the caller, my eyes widened instantly.

- Ms. Alex Priest is calling. -

I snatched my phone instantly and picked up the call, "Hello, Alex, are you alright? Did you actually go out of the country?"

"Y-Yes, Jen, I'm currently on a secret island. One of my mom's gifts for me. I don't think Lisa can trace me here. I hope not-" Alex replied. There was still nervousness in her voice, I could tell. But she didn't seem to be in danger, nor was she too stressed.

I took a deep, relieved breath. I really thought she was done for since Lisa was so ruthless when she was angry at Alex before. At least, Lisa fulfilled her promise not to attack and lash out at Alex.

"Well, you should stay wherever you are right now. Lisa and I will get married soon. I will invite you. But for now, just stay," I suggested.

"MARRIED?!" Alex yelled out of shock. "You're really going to marry her?!"

"Yeah, we've obtained the blessing from Madam Manoban. We will go to Mr. Manoban today for his blessing, and marriage will be soon," I replied lightly.

I didn't want to hide this fact since I didn't want her to wish for something unreachable.

I didn't want Lisa story and I to be messed up just because of some stupid misunderstanding, especially if it included a third party that knew nothing, like Alex.

Alex paused for a good while, then she said, "Is that really your decision, or is it Lisa who forced you to marry her?"

"It's my own decision. Lisa never forces me in anything, and since you're still in the dark about this, I am that Batman J in Lisa's life."

"WHAT?!" Alex reacted wildly upon that reveal. "Why didn't you tell me about it sooner?!"

"Because I also didn't know that she was my PeuPeu back then. I was afraid to lose my job as well. But now that everything has been revealed, I have no more worry about this. You don't need to chase after me anymore, Alex."

Alex suddenly chuckled, but I could sense that she was sad and maybe disappointed with my decision as well.

"Ah, I should've expected that someone as precious and gorgeous as you must've been with someone else. There is no way you could stay single with such quality," Alex said.
