Y/n pov-

My best friend the past couple of days has been ignoring me, leaving me on read or open, declining my calls and avoiding me in the hallways at school. If their goal was to push me away then they were succeeding so you could guess how happy I was when I received a text from her telling me to meet her at the rooftop of an old abandoned building just a few blocks away from school.

I run up the stairs and see her tall, slim figure standing at the edge of the building, the moonlight reflecting off of her raven hair. "Sae-byeok!" I eagerly walk over to her and stand close by, staring down at the city. The abandoned building wasn't far out of the city, in fact, it was quite close, Sae-byeok didn't look at me but just from her appearance, she was far from happy.

"Is everything ok? Why haven't you been talking to me?" I ask trying to break the awkward silence that lingers around us "Of course, it was you" She scoffs "I thought- you asked me here?" I question. She takes a few steps and comes to a stop when beginning to speak again.

"The perfect, pretty, good grades, creative Y/n" She sarcastically spits, "Sae what are you talking about?" I could feel a small lump form in my throat and the unsettling feeling that something terrible was about to take place nagged me.

"Of course she likes you, everyone always likes you" Venom laced her voice, she looks up at me, her eyes are red and puffy clear signs she's been crying. "Who likes me? What are you on about?" I try to make sense of the situation "Ji-Yeong!!!" She yells at me, I hesitate for a second "Ji-Yeong as in the Ji-Yeong you like?" I move towards her a bit in hopes of comforting her but she turns her body away.

"Yes, the one who I have liked for years... likes you" She whispers the final part. I didn't know what to say, it was clear that this was destroying Sae-byeok and she blamed me but if there is any way I can stop that from happening I was going to try. "I can talk to her, I can tell her I don't want any intimate relationship" I try to reason with Sae-byeok.

She lets out a low chuckle and slowly lifts her head, a smirk painted across her face "No point, the only way she will notice me is if you're no longer in the picture" She stares me dead in the eyes sending chills down my spine.

"Sae-byeok let's just talk about this ok, there's no need to do anything we might regret" I step back from her, putting my hands in front of my body as some sort of shield. "Getting rid of you wouldn't be a regret; it would be an achievement" She moves closer to me, backing me up to the edge of the building. I realised now why she moved before speaking, it was so she could trap me with my only escape being down "I always came in second to you, in everything!" She yells.

Tears fall down my cheeks and words were beginning to be harder to say "Please- I never meant to hurt you" I cry out, I feel cold hands wrap around my neck; the grip wasn't too tight but tight enough to make me panic slightly. "Sports- Grades- Girls- Looks" With every word her grip grew stronger still I was turning pale and beginning for air, I hit her arms with my hands in hopes of hurting her so she would loosen her grip but it's no use.

She brings my face close to hers and whispers in my ear "I'm sorry Y/n, But there's only enough room for one of us... and it's my turn" the last words sounded like it was spoken out of pure joy, It was hard to see due to all the tears, my throats was dry, my body was shaking and struggling as I took in the final breaths. I was ready to die from suffocation but that soon changed when I felt a cool wind against my back, I could breathe again, my body felt like it was falling and that's because it was. I look up and see Sae-byeok standing over the edge watching as I plummet to my death, She betrayed me... a 14 Year relationship literally murdered all because of some girl.

All though it was scary, falling was peaceful in a way, the wind was gentle and cool, my body feels light like a cloud. I didn't fight it, there was no use: this is one of the many deaths that once in action it is almost impossible to escape.

These feelings all changed when a sharp paint starts at the centre of my back and spreads throughout my body like wildfire, my eyes threatening to close and a harsh ringing filling my ears. I look up at the top of the building and see Sae-byeok move away from the edge, that was the final thing I saw before my eyes shut although I could still hear.

My body ached and even just breathing made me want to scream out in pain, I hear a muffled voice next to me, it sounded like a woman's but that was all I could hear until the world fell silent. That was it, I was floating in an endless black void, nothing to see, nothing to hear, it was just me, my conscious slowly losing its touch with the world.

Was I dead?
