Dancing ~ Sae-byeok

The lights of the city illuminated the night, cars filling the busy roads, the wind blowing lightly into my face. I often came to this rooftop as a way to escape, there was only one other person who knew about up here and that was Sae-byeok, my girlfriend. My day was stressful and clouded my brain.

I hang my legs off the edge of the building as I sit on the ledge, taking a deep breath of the air that had a hint of rain in its scent. "Hey beautiful, what are you doing up so high, all alone?" A voice asks from behind me, I smile and answer "Oh you know just taking in the life of the city" I smirk. "Someone like you is too pretty to be left alone, say what's on your mind?" They sit next to me, I turn my head to meet their eyes staring into mine "Wouldnt you like to know".

Sae opens her arms for me to hug her which of course I do, tightly wrapping my arms around her waist I bury my head into her chest. She plays with a strand of my hair and continues to speak "Hard day?" I nod my head to her question, she lifts me up and brings me to the middle of the rooftop, bringing my arms to her neck whilst hers go to my waist.

"What are you doing?" I question "We are dancing" She simply replies "Dancing? Since when do you dance?" I was confused because Sae never dances with me and if she does it takes like 10 years of convincing beforehand. "Since today" She smiles, she moves our bodies slowly from side to side, pulling me closer to her. It was silent, all that could be heard were the sound of distant cars and the light breeze. Sae grabbed my hand and pulled me outwards, twirling me under her arm then pulling me back close to her body.

My head rests on her chest again and hers rests on the top of mine, our bodies swaying perfectly in sync to the unheard music. "feel better?" She asks "I always feel better when your around" I compliment her, a soft giggle from her makes my smile widen. I always love moments like these, they can make the rainiest of days shine the brightest, always turning my frowns to smiles no matter how sad I may be and it was all because of her.

She's my joy, my pride, the one I can always rely on no matter the situation. No matter how big of a problem, she is always there ready to fight and take it on with me. She wasn't like other people who would just sympathize and say everything was going to be ok she could always relate and understand on a different level making sure nothing is faced alone and that's what I love about her.

The light touch of rain chilled my bare skin, I wasn't wearing clothes appropriate for cold weather because I hadn't planned on being up here. Sae must have felt me shive because she moves away from me, taking off her jumper and placing it on my shoulders. "How about we get to the car and you can tell me everything that happened today, yeah?" I nod my head and she wraps her hand around my shoulder, walking me back to the car.

It was crazy how much one person could care for me, and I knew that one day I was going to marry this girl.
