New student ~ Sae-byeok

As always I was late, rushing down the hallway trying my best to keep my books in my hand and almost miss my classroom, making a quick stop and slamming into the side of the locker. Ow. I open the door of the classroom, the room was silent and all eyes turned to me. shit.

"Y/n, how nice of you to join us; please take a seat" I lower my head and quickly walk to my assigned desk "As I was saying, everyone, this is Kang Sae-byeok. She will be joining us for the remainder of the year, would you like to take a seat next to" She pauses as her eyes roam the room looking for an open seat "Y/n please, she may be late but she a good student she should be helpful" The girl whose name is Sae-byeok walks to the seat next to me and throws her stuff on the desk.

I stared at her for a second, she had dark brown eyes, raven hair cut above her shoulders, a light spray of freckles across her cheeks, her appearance was soft and calm but her facial expressions were cold and emotionless. She realised I was staring and looked back at me confused, I quickly turn my head to the front of the class, terrible execution but oh well. 

"What happened to your face?" She ask, I was a bit offended "Excuse me!?" I think she could tell I interpreted that wrong "I mean your cheek, it looks bruised" She points out "Oh right, I ran into a locker" I reply with no shame, it was nothing new for me I was always known as the clumsy friend. "Uh- I'm not even going to ask" She turns her head down to her book and starts to draw out random lines.

The teacher had set us an assignment to do in partners, I tried to talk to Sae-byeok about it but she had her earphones in and couldn't hear me. I gently tap her shoulder and she sends me a cold look "What?" She asks taking her earphone out "We have an assignment to do... together" I reply, this girl was intimidating but that wasn't what was causing me to be shy, no it was something else but I couldn't tell what.

"And?" "Well, we have umm a week to do it so i- I thought we could start it maybe?" What was happening to me, I never get like this when talking to people. She softens as she speaks "I really don't want to do work right now, why don't you just come by my house this afternoon and we can work on it then?" She offers "That sounds great we can meet outside the school or something-" The bell had rung, were we really sitting there for that long? 

Sae-byeok picks up her things and starts to walk away "Outside the school" She confirms then walks out of the classroom. I was still unsure about what was making me like this around her, it didn't matter because I still had the rest of the school day to finish before I had to worry about it again.

The rest of the day was pretty chill, Sae-byeok was in two of my other classes but because of the seating plans, we weren't next to each other. The bell had finally rung for the end of the day and I quickly walk to my locker to pack my things, I was so excited for this afternoon but I don't even know why; Was it because I was making a new friend? or maybe do I like- nope that's no it.

I exit the school and it seems Sae-byeok had beat me to the front as she was resting against a wall waiting for me, I skip over to her and wait for her directions "We are gonna walk, it's not long" And with that, she started walking away, I follow close behind and attempt to make conversation. "So where did you come from?" "The north" She answers not looking at me, "The north!? Omg, that must have been hard" I try to sympathize "Tell me about it" She scoffs then quickens her pace.

We stop outside a cafe "Want anything?" She asks "Oh umm just a chai latte please" I smile, she nods her head and walks into the cafe while I stay outside. We both get our drinks and make it back to her house, placing our things at her front door and walking up to her room.

When we enter her room I am instantly in love, she had records hung on the walls, a guitar leaning against the corner, her desk that was covered in papers and books, but her bed was made interestingly, unlike the rest of her room.

"Can you close the door? I don't want my brother coming in when he gets home" She requests "So where should we start with the assignment-" I walk to the door and shut it "I was thinking that we could-" as I turn around my talking was stopped as I'm pushed against the door, Sae-byeok's arms next to me holding herself up as her face leans closer to mine. 

"We just got off of school, take a break Cupcake" (Yes arcane (: ) My face turns red and my heart starts to beat faster, I just met this girl what was she doing? I didn't know how to react, I had never been in this kind of situation before especially with someone I had only met 6 hours ago. 

"You know what I'm kinda hungry, you?" She asks moving her face closer to mine, a million thoughts rushed through my brain but were interrupted when I heard the door open behind me and Sae-byeok start to talk back downstairs to what I can only imagine is the kitchen.

I stand there flustered and confused, my heart rate was til trying to slow down and my face felt like it was on fire. What the hell just happened?
