playdate ~ Sae-byeok

Y/n pov-

I walk the streets to the primary school and arrive with 5 minutes to spare before the bell goes for dismissal. I lean against a wall connected to the school and scroll through posts on social media. Many cars line up at the entrance to pick up their kids, and a few parents or siblings like me stand outside the school to walk home.

I see a girl approaching that catches my eye, she has short black hair and is wearing baggy clothes. Her earphones are in and she slightly bops her head up and down, her hands shoved in her pockets as she stands off next to a light post on the side of the street.

The bell echos through the school and after a minute or two little kids start running out, laughing and chatting with friends as they look for their parents or guardians. I spot my sister walking out with a boy, they seem to be having some fun but she quickly leaves their conversation when she sees me.

"Y/n!" She cheers as she runs over to me, "Anniek!" I smile opening my arms for her, she engulfs me in a tight hug but quickly pulls away to ask me something. "Can we go to the park!? please" She begs, "I don't see why not" I smile "Yay! Can I invite my friend too?" She looks over to the same boy she was talking to when walking out who is chatting to the girl I spotted earlier, I guess they are siblings "You can ask him but I don't know if they can" She nods her head and runs over to him.

I watch, not wanting to walk over yet, I see Anniek speak as the older girl listens closely. Anniek points over to me and I use this as my cue to walk over. "Hi, I'm Y/n" I smile at her "Sae-byeok, this your sister?" She asks me, "Yeah, sorry about her". "Don't worry about it" She smirks at me. 

The little boy tugs at Sae's shirt "Can we? please" He begs her, she looks up at me "You don't mind?" "not at all" my smile grows wider, Sae-byeok nods her head at the little boy and the two kids both cheer in excitement. "Let's go!" Anniek cheers as the two walk off in the direction of the nearest park, Sae-byeok and I following close behind.

"Sooo, Sae-byeok... pretty name" I complement "Thanks, your sister she- she's Cheols first real friend" Sae-byeok admits, Cheol must be the name of her brother. "I see, why is that? if you don't mind me asking" I was curious as to why Cheol lacks friends, he seems like a lovely boy. "He is very shy, finds it hard to put himself out there. Normally kids just bully him for it" She sighs "I'm sorry, that must not be easy" I comfort "It's good he's making friends, your sister seems like a lovely girl" she states.

We finally arrive at the park and whilst Cheol and Anniek run off to the playground, Sae-byeok and I sit on a nearby bench. "So, how old are you?" I ask her "19, you?" "19 as well! you got a boyfriend" I jump to more personal questions, I tend to do that a lot. "no, no boyfriend. Not really into that stuff" She looks at me "What? dating?" I question, she laughs at my confusion "Guys, not into guys" corrects "oh, so I see" I panic.

Not only is this girl extremely attractive and nice but also gay! can she get any better?

"What about you, you seem like the kind of girl to be in a relationship" She comments "And whys that?" I joke, she looks at my outfit and examines my face before answering "I don't know, your pretty and you seem very bubbly" She complements. A light blush coats my cheeks and I find myself uncontrollably smiling "Why thank you but no I'm not in a relationship" I inform her. 

I was about to ask another question when Cheol comes running over to us, "Anniek fell off of the spider web and hurt her knee" he rushes, I stand up and walk over to the playground, Sae-byeok and Cheol close behind. I find Anniek crying on the ground holding her knee close to her chest "What happened?" I ask, sitting next to her on the ground.

"I tried to climb that - and i- I fell off it and- scratched my knee" she chokes out, "ok, ok, calm down, take a deep breath and show me your knee," I tell her. She moves her and shows a little scratch on her knee "Not too bad" I brush off the dirt and kiss it better "there, now you think you can keep playing?" She nods her head and Cheol comes to help her up. "Come on, let's go on the swings!" He rushes off with her, she chases after him as if nothing happened, making me giggle at her childishness.

Time skip-

The sun would be setting soon and I had to get home in time to help with dinner, I tell Anniek that we must go which of course she did not like "Nooo, please can we stay just a little longer" She begs "No, come on! mum wants us home for dinner" I tell her "Ok" she lowers her head and walks over to Cheol sadly to say goodbye.

I turn to Sae-byeok "This was nice" I say "Yeah, really nice" We stand in silence awkwardly for a few seconds "Will I be seeing you again?" She asks me I internally scream in excitement "I don't see why not" I smile at her, she passes me her phone and I type in my number. "I'll message you" She winks. Cheol and Anniek run over to us and we all say our final goodbyes before walking separate ways.

"Are you going to date Cheols sister?" Anniek asks randomly as we continue walking "uh- what!?" I panic "When you were talking to her you got all giggly and your face went red, does that mean you like her?" she giggles "No. Yes. Maybe... I don't know!" I complain, making her laugh more. She begins skipping ahead chanting "Y/n has a crush" over and over again.

Once arriving home, I head straight to my room and change into comfier clothes. My phone buzzes on my desk and I pick it up to see a message from an unknown number.

Unkown number: Hey stranger ;)
Y/n: Sae-byeok?
Unkown number: The one and only.

I change her contact so I remember who it is.

Sae ❤️: Cheol wants to hang out with Anniek again, maybe Ice-cream tmr after school?
Y/n: sounds great! cant wait.
Sae ❤️: see you then gorgeous ;)

Gorgeous? Did she just call me gorgeous? fuck I'm falling hard I know it.

A/n-

So I may have changed my mind on ending this book, I am re-entering my squid game phase, therefore, updating once more. Sorry for not posting in a bit school was very stressful however I am on a two week holiday so maybe I will post more, not too sure yet. Enjoy!
