This phase of your journey is coming to a close, which means a new phase is about to begin. Like 0, the Fool, pack a little bag before starting out. I've heard that the road to enlightenment is long, so bring snacks and magazines. As you move forward on your own journey, take from this book only what you think you'll need or what pleases you. There is a whole tarot world out there waiting for you to explore it. If you have played with your cards and tried some of the exercises and activities, you have a good foundation and, ideally, the confidence in your skills, understanding, and beliefs to allow you to continue exploring.

Throughout this book, I've emphasized the idea that tarot has always changed and will always continue to evolve. Tarot started off as a game—something that you did for fun. Returning to those roots—to the ideas of playing and of fun—is what, ironically, helps tarot continue to grow. People just like you play with the cards and try new things. People run into problems or want to solve dilemmas, and so they arrange and rearrange the cards until they do. You are now part of those people.

Shuffle your cards. Play with them. Do something differently. Do something new. Ask hard questions. Ask crazy questions. Be part of not only your own future but also the future of tarot.
