Mila went to one of the only places that gave her any solace, her art studio. Walking into her own space that she had built from scratch was one of the only things that gave her any comfort and definitely a sense of pride. She kicked herself for a second because she knew nothing good could come from that dinner party, but she was not expecting Natalia to be as ignorant as she was. After leaving the town and not returning for 6 years, how could she be so clueless? Mila hated everything about this, she hates the fact that Natalia was back, that she was in town with her stupid infectious laugh, her beautiful smile, and the ability she still has to make everyone around her love her. The girl was gone for 6 years for god's sake, why is everyone pretending like that didn't happen? How come everyone patched up the hole she left in their hearts? How come Mila didn't want to be mad at her reappearance. She should be pissed. She was just going to work on her art, make something with her hands, keep her mind off of things. But just as she was going to do that there was a knock on her art studio door, leaving her art supplies on the table she walked over to see who it was. "Hartman," said Rick standing there "Yeah Rick what do you need?" she said holding one hand on her door leaning on it. "Someone is here to see you," he said "huh?who?" she said confused, "they're back at the house," he said, "if you want to know." Mila locked up her art studio and walked the few blocks to the main house where she saw Natalia standing there. "Hm," said Mila smiling sarcastically "the nerve you have," Natalia just stood there, fidgeting with her fingertips. "Well? what do you want?" spit out Mila with clear venom in her words. "I - I just wanted to apologize," said Natalia. "Apologize? What, you think that means something to me ?" said Mila with her hands in her pockets not believing what she was seeing. Natalia saw the clear hate in Mila and I guess she couldn't blame her. "I was inconsiderate and --" "Just shut up," said Mila with even more hate than before "Just get out of here, you're on my property." Natalia could feel the tears forming in her eyes, but obeyed, she didn't want to cause any more trouble than she already had. "Okay I'm- I'm sorry," Mila just stared at her leave, feeling the same empty feeling she once felt, but she had to protect herself now, if she had learned one thing since her parents passed and Natalia leaving is that you have to fend for yourself, and no one should get in the way of that.
