"Babygirl" said Mia looking at her sister who seemed catatonic just staring at her bedroom window.
"Why don't you take a nap? You've had a loaded day."
Natalia could not hear a word her sister was saying, her mind was completely blank, only bursts of images appear. Ana, the hitman, Jackie, Mila.
"Babygirl?" she asked one more time, but it was no use, until she heard a knock on the already open door startling Mia
"Sorry I, didn't mean to just barge in like this" Natalia then turned around to the sound of her voice, not believing she was here.
Mia took this as a sign to leave the two of them alone, but not before giving Natalia a look, warning her of what they had talked about.
"What are you doing here?" asked Natalia
"We just, never finished our talk back at the airport" she said now sitting next to her
Natalia grew nervous, but firm nonetheless "What else is there to say?" she said avoiding Mila's gaze.
"I just, wanted to apologize"
"what for?"
"For making you feel so guilty and making your trip back here, a miserable one" said Mila looking down at the floor.
"You didn't make it miserable, you just told me how you felt, and I get it, I really hurt you and the others and I do take full responsibility for that."
"Still, I shouldn't have treated you like that, truth be told, I was just basking in my feeling of abandonment. And even though you did break my heart by leaving, you didn't deserve that. And I'm sorry."
Natalia then looked up at Mila "it's okay." Once Mila lifted her head Natalia got another look at her scar "And I'm sorry, about that" she said pointing to the scar on her face. "You didn't do it"
"No but had it not been for me that would not be there."
"You can't control what others are capable of, I know you feel guilty, but you shouldn't, really, I'm okay."
"Thank you." said Natalia
Mila only gave her a slight smile accompanied by a nod
" I'm guessing you're not great at wound care."
"Why would you say that?"
"Because your scar is nowhere near where it should be by now, I'm going to get some supplies, stay right here."
Mila wondered what it was that she was really doing there, but honestly, right now it didn't seem to matter.
Natalia came back with a wet cloth and other medical supplies Mila couldn't quite recognize/. "Are you performing a surgery on me ?" asked a soft spoken Mila with a smile that was sneaking to escape.
"No" she said in between a light giggle "I just want to make sure it's healing properly."
Natalia sat by Mila's side, now facing each other, Natalia tried to focus on the wound as the air surrounded got more tense by the second. "Turn to the side a little" she said almost in a whisper. Mila feeling the air just as intense as Natalia slowly did what she was told. Natalia looked at the scar again, this time in much greater detail, the attacker must have been wearing a ring because she saw Mila's skin had torn open slightly and looked like it was on the verge of getting infected. Natalia then took her wet cloth and washed out the wound ever so gently. Mila immediately winced a little at the cold feel on her still open wound.
"Sorry,"
"It's good"
Natalia kept caring for the wound, as the awkward and tense silence grew.
