Elliot

I pull the shirt over my head, my wolf growling quietly in my head in warning. Before I could even pull the shirt completely over myself, I brace myself, as Sean tries to trip me. His shoe hits my leg in hopes of making me lose my balance, but with the way my muscles tense his hit only bounces off of my leg and I glance over my shoulder at him. Sean looks angry because of the unsuccessful attempt.

"Watch where you're walking." I warn him with a cold voice, as I pull my shirt down my body. Sean doesn't answer as he and his lacrosse buddies head out to the lacrosse field.

"The nerve he has." Thomas grumbles beside me, making me glance over at him. I shrug my shoulders a little, surprisingly not being bothered with his futile attempts to unravel me. "Let him have his fun." I mumble as I grab my shoes and sit down on the bench to put them on. Thomas watches after the lacrosse players with a hard expression on his face.

I glance over my shoulder to see if there's anybody else in the locker room with us before I speak.

"How are you?" I ask, pulling my laces so they tighten the shoe's hold on my foot. Thomas glances down at me with a confused expression, which makes me roll my eyes. "I meant with Natalie." I explain, noticing how the male stiffens at the question. I would too if I'd be in his place. Having a human for a mate is a first in werewolf history.

"We..." Thomas pauses and glances across the locker room to make sure nobody is listening to us. "We are taking it slow. Since we still haven't accepted each other it's been hard for me." He confesses, which makes me nod a little. I tie my other shoe on my foot before I stand up to my full height. The twins are almost as tall as me, maybe an inch or two shorter.

"She's still getting used to the werewolf world and well... she's full of questions about the mate bond." His voice is now hushed when he speaks and I smile a little. I can already imagine Natalie babbling on and on about the mate bond. I actually think her questions are interesting, because she comes up with those kind of questions that you barely know how to answer.

"She took it better than the other two." I say, making Thomas nod in confirmation. We head out on the lacrosse field, the cold morning air making goosebumps form on my skin. I watch as the P.E. teacher shouts orders at us, like he'd be in the army or something. He makes us run two laps around the lacrosse field as a warmup.

"And you and Mack?" Thomas asks as we start running side by side. I can see Tyler somewhere in the front with the rest of the lacrosse players. "What about us?" I question, raising an eyebrow at the twin. Thomas rolls his green eyes at me, just like I did at him before. "Don't act innocent, buddy. I know you two have been sleeping in the same bed ever since you joined us."

I tilt my head to the side a little. Is that annoyance I hear in his voice? Or is he just jealous because Natalie and him haven't accepted each other as mates?

"I won't deny it." I answer, noticing how Thomas narrows his eyes at me. "But sleeping is all we did. Don't go all big brother on me." I defend myself, lifting my hands up to my chest like I'd try to protect myself from him. Thomas doesn't look like the type of guy who would be able to hurt you, but he has proved me wrong the night the Midnight pack attacked Kenzie's friends. He went feral to protect his sister and mate against the werewolf.

We stop jogging, as the teacher tells us to choose a sport we will be participating in today. Most of the guys in my class choose lacrosse, since most of them are players on the team. I sigh in defeat and step away from the field to try and avoid getting hit by one of the players.

"Elliot!" I glance over my shoulder, my eyes narrowing at the voice that just called me. Thomas looks equally suspicious as Max starts walking over to us. He hasn't talked to me ever since he brought my stuff to school when I left the Midnight pack.
