My whole body hurts. I feel tired and my lungs burn with every breath I take. The nearing full moon is taking a toll on me and I can't do anything to relieve the pain. The only thing I can do is keep my eyes closed and breathe through my nose.

My head is leaned on Elliot's shoulder. We are sitting in the back of the confined space they have been keeping us in. It feels too small since the torches are still flickering with fire. They are too close and I'm too tired to keep on panicking. It feels like my body is slowly shutting down on me. I could barely connect my mind to Jason's to tell him we are trying to escape.

But how could we? There are most likely numerous hunters out there and there is only two of us. Not to mention we are both tired and drained of all strength. I can hardly move because of my first shift. We don't know if we'll be able to escape with our lives.

Elliot's head lowers on top of my mine and I feel his lips press on top of my head in a soft kiss. His arm is wrapped around me, keeping me flush into his side. He is been quiet ever since I informed him I talked to Jason. I wonder what he's thinking about.

Elliot's hand brushes up and down my arm, making goosebumps appear on my skin. I'm still in his sweater. The one he gave me on the night of our kidnapping. And his upper body is still naked and covered in his own, dried up now, blood. My mate brushes his nose against the top of my head and I hear him breathe in deeply. His chest rises and my hand lifts up along with it. I like keeping my hand on his chest, just to feel his heart beating. So I know he's here by my side, alive.

I crack my eyes open, the first thing I see are the flickering flames of the torches. My dark veins are faint against my skin now. They show how drained I feel. I can hardly keep my wolf from disappearing. I can feel how tired she is as well.

Elliot's head lifts up from my own and I glance up to see him. His eyes are still glowing in a bright yellow color, like he'd find new energy and motivation to keep his wolf up. He is staring in front of himself, his eyes moving from side to side, like he'd be trying to find any type of solution for the situation we are in.

My mate notices I'm looking at him, so he turns his head to me. He doesn't say anything. He only brings his hand up to my face, to tug my hair behind my ear. I feel his calloused hand rest against my cheek as he presses his soft lips to my forehead. I close my eyes and enjoy the scent he is emitting for me. His lips are dry from dehydration, but it still feels nice to feel them against my skin.

Elliot leans back against the wall and stares in front of himself again. I can almost see the wheels that are spinning in his head, as his eyes dart from the torches to the broken chains on the floor.

I lean back down against his shoulder and close my eyes, to try and preserve the little bit of energy I have left. We are just sitting ducks in here, waiting, hoping that Lora will show soon. We don't even know if she's going to show up tonight or in the morning. We can only sit and wait.

Elliot shifts, his body brushing against my own. It makes me look up at him again. I notice the muscle in his cheek twitch from anger. He is clenching his free hand into a fist, as he stares at the locked door.

"What?" I mumble, which makes my mate's tense body relax slightly. "I can't sit here anymore." Elliot answers in a quiet voice. His chest rumbles when he speaks and I feel the vibrations under my hand. Elliot's shaking his foot from side to side, showing me how angry and anxious he is about all of this.

"What can we do...?" I push myself up, sitting upright. Elliot turns to look at me as I lean back against the metal wall. His jaw is set, looking sharper than ever. His eyes shine in a bright golden yellow as he stares at me. "What if I can break through the door?" Elliot asks me, glancing to the locked door that is keeping us inside. I hear myself huff, a mixture of a scoff and a laugh. "The doors are made out of metal... and they're locked." My throat aches when I speak. It feels like everything is burning me from the inside when I talk.
