There was a soft noise coming from the other side of the door. I groggily turn on my side and blink the tiredness from my mind. The sun was already shining through the window blinds, casting a soft glow in the bedroom.

My eyebrows furrow and I glance over to the door, focusing my attention on the soft noise coming from the other side.

I was alone in the bedroom, which was a rare occurrence. My mate never woke up before me and even if she did, she would wait for me to wake up before leaving the bed.

There is a soft giggle from the other side of the other and a soft patter of feet running. A smile appears on my face as I throw the blanket off myself and sit up in the bed. The sunlight falls over my body, casting me in the sun's warmth. I get out of the bed and find myself some sweatpants and a t-shirt so I don't exit the bedroom only in underwear. I don't think the pack would appreciate that kind of image of their Alpha.

"Come back here! You know I can't go to the top floor!" Someone calls from the lower levels of the pack house and I hear more giggling. I brush a hand through my hair before I head to the bedroom door, opening it.

The giggles and laughter are cut off as I poke my head out to glance into the hallway. Two pairs of eyes turn to look at me, one pair blue, while the other hazel and then the two boys squeal and run the other way, heading directly for the stairs.

I watch them as they run down the stairs, avoiding the Beta that is waiting for them at the bottom of the stairs and running further down to the ground floor.

If I would have a chance to speak to my old self, I would have told the teenage Elliot about the laughter that is going to be present in the pack house now. I don't think he'd believe. He would probably scoff and send me on my way, but he would be surprised how everything changed after the Alpha position was handed to me.

I head over to the stairs, glancing down the steps to the Beta that is still standing at the bottom, shaking his head.

"Little brats are becoming faster than me." He mutters before his eyes turn up to look at the stairs at me. The corner of my lips turns up slightly as I head down the stairs. "Be careful of your sharp tongue, Jason. They might hear you and then they will take advantage of you." I warn.

Jason glances over his shoulder to where the two young boys disappeared off to, before he scoffs.

"They might be fast, but they are going to have to train a lot more to beat me." He tells me as I hit the bottom of the stairs. Jason offers me a soft smile as we head down to the ground floor together.

"Any news from the Runners yet?" I ask as we head down another flight of stairs. I can hear commotion coming from the kitchen and I can only assume the boys let all hell break loose. "Not yet." Jason pauses, a worried look crossing his features.

"They might not be alive anymore, Elliot." He says in a quiet voice, which makes a frown form on my face. I look over to Jason, the worried look in his eyes reminding me of the sixteen year old he was. "They're not dead. Frederick and Camila King won't just lay down and die." I mutter. Jason frowns at my words, shaking his head slightly. "They might have fought for years, Elliot. But twelve years is a long time."

"Daddy!" My head jerks to the door of the kitchen, the conversation I was just having with Jason disappearing from my mind seconds. "Daddy, come here!" One of my boys calls for me and I can't help the smile that stretches out on my lips. I leave Jason in the hallway and step into the almost too full kitchen.

My other Beta and my Gammas are in the kitchen, along with both of my sons that cause chaos.

"Look at what uncle Alec gave me!" Logan all but yells, jumping from the chair he was just sitting in. My oldest son runs over to where I'm standing and shows me a book about herbs and medicine. I crouch down to the six year olds height and take the book he is offering me.

"Looks like uncle Alec decided to start teaching you about some of his Healer magic, huh?" I smile at Logan and the child grins back, nodding his head so fast I'm almost scared it's going to pop off his neck.

"Logan, put the book away for now. Breakfast is ready." My mate says from the stove, her blue eyes turning to look at the rest of the kitchen. Logan leaves the book in my hands and dashes back to his chair, while the rest of the Betas and Gammas sit down at the table as well.

I stand up and head over to the counter to leave the book on it. Mackenzie looks over to me with a soft smile on her face. I lean over and kiss her cheek, muttering a soft good morning against her cheek.

"You slept in." She tells me as she puts a plate of bacon and a basket of bread down on the table. The chatter starts up, as Max helps my youngest son, Asher, pour a glass of juice. I watch them as Asher almost spills the juice over the whole table and Max jumps into action, tilting the carton back so it doesn't overflow the glass.

"And you disappeared from the bed." I tell Mackenzie as she returns by my side and hands me a cup of hot coffee. "I made breakfast for the whole family. Of course I had help from Amelia and Maddison." Mackenzie smiles, looking back to the table. I follow her gaze, watching as the conversation keeps on running between all of the werewolves as they start eating breakfast.

"I told you everything's going to be fine." I tease my mate, noticing how the Luna smiles into her coffee as she takes a sip. "I made you promise and that's why we're completely fine." She jokes.

"And it's going to stay like that." Kenzie looks over to me, setting her own cup down on the counter. "I know. Because I trust you when you tell me that." She tells. I take her hand into my own and kiss her knuckles.

Our conversation gets interrupted as Logan calls for Kenzie to come and see the egg on his plate, because it has taken shape of a heart. I watch my mate lean over my son's shoulder to look at his plate, before she lovingly ruffles his fluffy brown hair and kisses his forehead.

Elliot from the past, we have made it.
