Elliot
It's already dark outside. The day has passed so quickly and we have still got some things we have to go through. The plan is coming together, but there are still small flaws in it, which can tilt the victory to the hunters.
I'm standing by the conference table, leaning my hands on the desk and watching the two older Alphas going through the plan one more time. I know every single word that is going to fall out of their mouths, before it actually does. We have been saying the same exact statements for the whole day. It is practically like a script for a play you have to learn.
My shoulders feel tense from how long I have been standing in the same position. I let my shoulders raise first and then drop, to try and work out some of the tension in them.
There has been this strange feeling in my stomach for the whole day already. At first, I thought it's because I'm going to miss Mackenzie's birthday because of this meeting and then I thought it was because she's going to be outside the Polaris pack territory with my family. But that isn't it. They are going to be completely safe at Carol's pub.
I tilt my head to the side, relieving some of the tension in my neck. I'm even more tense than usual.
"Is something the matter, young Alpha?" I tilt my head back to look at Nova, seeing her eyes already completely focused on me. The attention in the room shifts towards me now, everyone glancing my way. I push off the desk and shake my head.
"It's nothing." I mutter, only to see Nova's lips twitch up into a smirk. "Incredible." She mutters, which makes my eyebrows furrow.
"Incredible what?" I ask, glancing over to Thomas and Tyler that stand behind their father. They look equally confused as I do, but the Alphas don't. Loki and David are completely relaxed, maybe even relieved that the conversation has drifted away from all of the plan making.
"Your senses. They're incredible." Nova explains, pushing out of the office chair she was sitting in and walking around the table to me. I feel the uneasy feeling intensify, as she approaches me. The Luna has always made me feel this way. Her Seishen is as powerful as she is cunning, which only writes me off with a lot of trouble.
Cole glances over to see me being approached by Nova, his lips twitching downwards slightly.
"My senses?" I ask again, seeing how the Luna tilts her head to the side. "She's talking about your Alpha senses." Griselda explains, making me glance over to the previous Luna of the River Ash pack.
"You've already shifted into a full Alpha overnight." Nova mutters, her dark eyes drilling holes into me. I feel uncomfortable because of her proximity, so I take a step back. My Betas and Gammas sense how I feel and I notice from the corner of my eye how Douglas clenches his jaw.
"I don't understand." I tell Nova, glancing over the room at the rest of the werewolves gathered here.
"Your senses have shifted into an Alpha's senses overnight. The process of becoming an Alpha of a pack is... more complicated than just gaining the title." Cole explains, stepping from the window and to Freya's side. I still don't understand what they're trying to tell me.
"You feel uncomfortable in the Polaris pack territory. Even though you are welcomed here. You don't feel comfortable, because it's not your territory." Nova practically grins as she talks, enjoying how I squirm under her heavy gaze. "I've been watching you. You've been tense the whole day already."
"I'm tense because we could be attacked any second now." I try to fight back, but it makes Loki chuckle lowly. My eyes snap over to the Alpha, noticing how he is shaking his head. "Oh, no. It's because you've become an Alpha. And this isn't your territory, which makes you feel you don't belong." Loki is enjoying this just as much as Nova.
