Chapter 1: Life (Part 3)

I glanced at Shanks who was in his office talking to someone then down, "I haven't talked to Uncle Shanks in a while... He's so busy lately..." I jerked as she glared and we walked into my classroom, "Iris..." She closed the curtains and turned on the light, "Where did we leave off?" I look forward slightly, shaking, "No matter where you are... Or what you do, a lady must always be dignified and proper... An improper lady won't be able to succeed..."

She nodded and sat down, "Let's review.... Start with the introductions, then walking, then table manners." I took a deep shaky breath before grabbing the ends of my dress and curtsying, "Greeting Lady Praline. Was y-" I jerked and shook as she stood up, "Again..." I stood up and curtsied, but slightly shaking, "Greetings Lady Praline... Has your evening been well?" I yelped and hissed at her hitting the back of my calves hard with her ruler, "No, that's wrong! The correct phrase is simply, how is your evening so far or has your evening treated you well. Again!"

I stood up and took a deep breath before curtsying again, "Greeting L-" I hissed as she hit me again, "The head is held higher, also your arms are incorrect, lastly you said greeting instead of greetings. Again." This went on for about an hour or so before she allowed me to walk to the table, but as she was about to hit me for stumbling Ace and Sabo ran in, "What do you think you are doing?!" Ace ran to me and helped me up.

Sabo yelled, "Who do you think you are to hit Ir- her highness?!" She stood up, "I'm her teacher... I'm allowed to punish her for incorrect behav-" She flinched as Shanks came in, "What's going on? Luffy said so-" He glared as he saw blood through my tights and Ace holding me away with Sabo standing between us. Shanks ran over as he saw me shaking, so he picked me up and glared as she bowed to him scared, "We'll talk about this later... Ben, have her detained for now." He then walked out with me in his arms crying softly. He carried me to his office where two familiar people were. Law, Rosinante, and a man that looked like an older Law.

Shanks ignored them and brought me to his desk and started going through it for something, but Law got up and walked up to me before putting his hands right above my calves. His hands and my legs glowed golden as he mumbled something. I sniffled as the pain slowly went away and Shanks and the two others stared surprised. He looked up, "Does anything else hurt?" I shook my head and sniffled, "No..." Shanks looked between us before helping me off and looking at Law, "Law... Could you keep Iris company while we talk about something?" Law looked at me wiping tears before nodding. He blushed lightly as I took his hand and he led us out to where the others were. 

Ace, Sabo, and Luffy ran to me, "Iri!" I took a step back as Ace yelled, "Why'd you never tell us?!" They blink surprised as I hid behind Law. "... Ace, you're scary when you yell..." Ace groaned as he scratched his head, "Ugh... Sorry, but why did you never say you got hurt?" Law froze as I mumbled. "Improper ladies... Won't be able to succeed... No matter what... I want to be a combat mage and suc-"

Law turned around and held both my hands, "That's not true... As long as you work hard and plan ahead you can succeed in anything you want." I was about to say something, but Zoro, Sabo, and Luffy tore me from him. Ace crossed his arms, "Who're you anyways?" Law glared and responded flatly, "Greetings to his highness... My name is Trafalgar Law..." Ace looked him up and down then turned around, "Sabo! Whatcha think? Attractive enough for our princess?" Sabo shook his head, "Hell no!"

Luffy and I looked at them confused and asked at the same time, "For what?" Ace picked me up and threw me over his shoulder before running. "Hey Tora-o! You can come play again if you manage to catch me! If not, you're not allowed near Iri anymore!" I burn brightly, "What if I want to play with him?" We blinked surprised as Law was gone. I looked down a little sad, but Ace stopped running, "Heh? Definitely not good enough! What a wimp!"

I yelped and Ace jerked as Law appeared next to us and touched his shoulder. Law smirked as he asked, "I get to play now, right?" Ace glared and ran off with me again, but Law always appeared and casually got him every time, while I just kinda laid there being carried around. I yelled irritated at the tenth time, "Enough!" I kneed Ace's chest and kicked him up. He got knocked back as Law just stared, "I'm not a ragdoll! If I want to play with Law I will! Ace! Don't talk to me until further notice!" I grabbed Law's hand and dragged him off as Ace was just baffled. "Iri..."

I huffed and stompped, "Stupid Ace... I can make my own friends..." I blinked surprised as Law was rubbing my hand with his thumb as if confirming something. I burned brightly and looked to the side as I slipped away, "S-Sorry Law... I didn't even ask i-" He shook his head, "It's fine... I wanted to be with you anyways." I hid behind my scarf, "I-I see, well..." I pointed towards the garden. "W-want to come see my garden?" He smirked, "If we hold hands." I giggled as I slipped my hand in his and walked.
