Chapter 11: Training (Part 2)

After the door was closed he leaned back and walked to the desk, "Iris... You know I see you as my granddaughter, no matter how pretentious of me it is." I sat in front of him, "You know you're both my martial teacher and my family." He huffed, "... I believe in you. I do, but Iri... Unpredictable things happen. I'm worried, not only as my family, but if something happens to the princess, the jewel of our kingdom... War would literally break out to the south. You're old enough to know..."

My heart thumped and I went wide eyed as he sighed, "When you were at your debut you were given many marriage proposals... One was from the prince, Roseland Eugene. We couldn't deny them so easily. We told them you were already engaged, but we couldn't provide proof... After the academy or even during it, you can get married and it'll be solved, but... War will break if you don't... Keep in mind, it's Lord Trafalgar, a war, or Prince Eugene."

I looked down and held my necklace and earring as it shined a bright gold, "I don't want to marry anyone, but Law..." He got up, "I know... Just make sure to live and make it back to him, ok?... After you leave in two months I'm returning to the capital... Your birthday happens a week before you start the academy... Come home at least a few months beforehand. I'll talk to him about Minori and Mikeal, ok?" I looked down and nodded, "Alright... I'll see you tomorrow..." He nodded as I made my way out.

I sniffled and shook, but felt a hand on my head. I looked up and cried as Mikeal pulled me to his chest. I reached up and cried in his neck, so he picked me up and quietly walked me towards our carriage. I whispered as he reached outside, "Mikeal... I'm happy I'm loved, but... I don't want to be a princess..." He nodded, "I know..." He walked me inside and sat me on my bed, so I curled up, "... Gengi." He appeared next to me and hopped into my arms. I curled around him and nuzzled him, so Mikeal stroked my hair, "Get some sleep." I whispered, "Alright..."

I open my eyes as I look up at a strange sight. A man hovering over me, with piercing gold eyes and a hair color similar to Law's, but he looked older. A lot older, like early thirties. There were two unfamiliar men as well. One had brown hair and blue eyes with a penguin pendant while the other had red hair and brown eyes that had a killer whale pendant on. I held out my hand, "Law..." He grabbed my hand and held it to my cheek, "Iris-ya..."

I smile softly, "I love you..." I looked at the other two, "Penguin... Shachi... Take good care of Law, ok?" I saw them tear up as Penguin yelled, "Iris-chan... You'll be ok... We'll save you no matter what!" I giggled, "I'm not scared... Not as long as you don't let go of my hand..." I felt Law hold my hand tighter and felt him kiss it, "I love you too Iris-ya... You'll be ok. The accident is nothing. I'll get someone to fix your lungs... I swear." The vision faded, "Alright... I'll trust you Law."

I took a sharp, but soft inhale as I heard noise outside. I saw Gengi sleeping, so I slowly got up and made my way outside. I hopped down to see Lial, Kytrose, and Sylvar talking. Lial smiled as he looked at me, "It's a relief to see that she still has child-like behaviors. It was a bit heartbreaking to see her be so mature." Sylvar nodded, "And the way she looked at Jay... It's been awhile since I've seen such blood thirsty or enraged eyes..." Kytrose sighed, "People react to losing someone differently. It seems that for her, she becomes overprotective and possessive. It seems like she's ready to kill anyone to harm her family and friends..."

They looked around as I sleepily rubbed my eye and looked around, but smiled as I saw them, "Hi Lial! Ky and Syl!" I ran up, "Have you seen Mikeal or Minori?" Lial pointed, "They're getting you guys a quest, it seems you need to repair your vehicle." I looked at it, "... No, we need it renovated... Minori can't keep sharing a bed with Mikeal, especially since Minori doesn't know Mikeal's gay." I giggled, "Although he only has eyes for Mary."
