Chapter 17: Established (Part 4)

 I began pacing nervously as we waited for the teleporter to be ready. I was too nervous to even respond to their teasing. I flipped Sylvar as he put his hand on my shoulder. I blinked as I heard a groan and looked down, "Huh? Syl, did you trip?" I offered my hand, "Are you ok?" The others began laughing as Sylvar glared as he got up. He pointed at Lial and yelled, "I told you I didn't want to!" He began laughing louder, "You're the one who lost fist, wand, and sword!" He yelled, "Obviously a wand beats a sword! How does a fist beat a sword and a wand beat a fist?! What the hell?!" We all laughed harder as he yelled, "Stop laughing!"

We looked up and Nami backed up a bit with Gengi as some people ran up, "Hey! You're the Moon Knights, right?!" Lial and Kytrose hid me behind them, "Sorry... We're on a job at the moment." I peeked out curious, but blinked and sprinted before jumping, "Miiiinoriiii!~" He yelled panicky, "Wait!" He groaned and fell back as I was on top of him laughing, "You came!" He huffed as I got up and helped him up, "I should've expected this." I giggled more, but flinched as he asked, "Have you talked to Mikeal?" I closed my eyes, but grabbed his hand, "Let's go! The teleportation circle is almost ready!"

I looked around and skipped up, but stopped as some people ran up, "Hey! You're the captain, right?!" I hesitantly nodded, but huffed softly as they handed me a paper and pen. I hesitantly grabbed it and signed it. I waved them off before looking at Minori as he ruffled my hair and asked, "Really famous, huh?" I puffed my cheek and stormed off, "Yeah. Yeah." He ran up laughing as we joined up with them. I looked around nervously as they announced the teleport was ready. I stood by and watched everyone get on until it was just us left. I looked down and turned as I stepped on the platform and was teleported.

I wobbled off, but looked up as Minori caught me. Gengi plopped on my head as we both took a minute to adjust before I looked up to see him smile softly, "Maybe he'll be here later?" I smiled, "Yeah! I'm sure! It has to be like that! I'm sure he's just late or maybe he's already here!" I looked down as he held my hand and led me to a carriage. He helped me onto it before helping Nami then getting in himself then Sylvar.

Lial and Kytrose drove us as I just played and pet Gengi silently as the others relaxed. I asked as I teared up, "He's not coming... Is he?..." Nami hugged me as she stroked my back, "I'm sure he is... If not, I'm sure something came up!" I closed my eyes, "... Yeah..." I nuzzled her, "... There's about thirty minutes left, so I'm going to rest up a bit." I slowly pulled away and leaned back to rest and pet Gengi.

I took a sharp inhale as Nami shook my shoulder, "Iris, we're here." I nodded softly and got down as Sylvar helped me. I rubbed my eye and looked up as I blinked surprised. It was a plain field, but my eyes widened and glowed, "Wow! How cool!" Nami looked at me confused. I looked around, "Why aren't they going in?" I blinked as I saw around forty people, "There's so few..." He looked around, "Maybe some are already in? Plus this is the first group. We did arrive about two hours early." I glanced to the side then nodded before I walked a few feet then plopped right in front of the border, "Alright..."

They brought out a blanket for Nami as they pointed. I huffed and got up before dusting myself off and sat next to Nami. Gengi turned big and let us lean against him as Lial brought out a small table then some food. I blinked then laughed softly as we were then having lunch together. I couldn't help but smile and laugh at the memories of the front line, however I always bit my lip and took a deep breath as I remembered Mikeal.

I looked up and flinched as I saw someone unpleasant, "Wait... I thought you were kidding." I looked away as Kyte and Eugene got off and a carpet was rolled off for them. I huffed, "... The definition of spoiled..." I looked at Lial, "I can't believe they want me to marry him..." I glared as they brought out a table, chairs, and a platform so they wouldn't get dirty. I snorted, "Oh how lovely it would be to see them dirty... I bet she'd be squealing and yelling l-" I jerked as a man walked up and bowed, "Princess Iris. Prince Eugene requests your presence..."

I looked down and took a deep breath before smiling my nobel smile, "I'm sorry, but please inform him that I have no intention from moving from the front door, so inform him to kindly fuck off and to stop his delusions before he gets institutionalized for putting such vial words in the same sentence as my name." I half giggled, "K? Have a good day." He gaped at me as the others burst out laughing and I casually ate.

I glared at his blood thirsty, "... Yes, your highness... I will convey your words." He jerked as I swished my glass, "Knight-san... I suggest you keep your feelings in check. It's not wise to let someone know your animosity secretly. Certainly not wise in front of royalty when a simple slip can cause a war." I glared at him, "My words are harsh, but I have never threatened him. I suggest you keep my words in mind knight-san." He bowed, "Yes your highness." He then left as I took a drink, "... I hate being a princess..." I smiled bittersweetly, "... I miss the crunch of the snow and the warmth of being around a firepit talking and laughing like now..." I giggled, "Although I can't wait to see them again!"
