Chapter 12: Changes (Part 3)

I took a sharp inhale and looked around as I groaned and held my head. I hissed as I heard Minori yell, "Iris!" He ran to the door, "Mikeal! You guys! She's up!" Minori helped me sit up as I looked around to see me in a hospital room and hooked up to a weird machine. I looked up and groaned as I felt two people hug me. I tilted my head as Mikeal was shaking and hugging me while Rayleigh sat up and cleared his throat, "Are you ok? Are you hurting?" I rubbed Mikeal's hair as I looked around to see Minori, Sylvar, and a new, but familiar face. I looked down, "Mikeal is heavy, but other than that n-" I grabbed my hair and shake as I yell, "What the fuck?! Why is my hair white and why is it so long?!"

I looked up as the new face sat next to me, "... You don't remember, so I shall help you before your training." I blinked as I looked at him closer, he had piercing golden eyes, and dark midnight blue hair, but was long and in a ponytail that rested on his shoulder. He was wearing a black suit with a golden tie. He had tanish skin that reminded me of Law. I tilted my head, "Gengi?" He smiled and chuckled, "That's right... Now... Let me show you..." He laid his forehead on mine as the scene appeared before me of Yarisa blessing me.

I leaned back confused, but he huffed, "I am Yarisa's envoy and your familiar, Gengi. My original name is Jade." I looked down, but he stroked my cheek, "I am still your Gengi, Iris. I can take my normal form if you wish, but this was the best way to keep you safe and here while you trained with Yarisa." I hold my head, "Wait... Wait. Wait. Wait... Ok, so... I've been blessed by Yarisa-sama because I'm the person to defeat the demon beast king? I have to defeat Teach to slow down his resurrection, find people willing and strong enough to fight the demon beast king... Before I reach twenty-three years old... It leaves me five years in the academy to form a party?" He nodded, so I groaned and held my head, "This is too much to handle in a day." I flinched as Mikeal looked at me, "It's been a year... Iris, you've been comatose for a year... Gengi told us specifically not to tell anyone. Only Rayleigh, Minori, Lial, Sylvar, and Kytrose can know."

I laid down, "... This is too much..." Raleigh stroked my hair, "Relax for now... Sylvar, Mikeal, and Minori are here while Lial and Kytrose are searching for answers... They will return soon, so for now... Just relax. Why don't you go have a bath and relax? We'll bring you some food." I huffed softly, "That actually... Sounds pretty nice..." I sat up, but yelped and flush a bright red as Gengi scooped me up into a princess carry. I looked at the four of them, "W-Well... I'll see you guys in a little bit..." I looked up as he walked me to the bathroom, "... You're still my Gengi right?... I can treat you how I treated you before?" He nodded, but huffed as I giggled, "Then I want a massage! A full body deep massage before relaxing!"

He nuzzled my cheek and whispered, "Alright... I'll get the bath ready while you get undressed. I'll give you a massage after you're in." I nodded and walked to the counter and began stripping down as he got the bath ready. After folding my clothes I looked at myself in the mirror. I saw my hair a long silver-white color like Yarisa's, while my eye color brightened and my pupils were now shaped like crescent moons.

I cupped my cheek as I looked malnourished and dehydrated. I looked down, but looked up as Gengi walked behind me and nuzzled my neck, "Come on... Let's get you cleaned up." I nodded softly as he led me to a washing station. I began shakily washing myself off as he prepared a bubble bath for me.

After washing up, I make my way to the bath in which Gengi helped me into. I leaned back and relaxed as Gengi reached down and began massaging my shoulders and neck. I went to shoot up as I realized I wasn't wearing my jewelry, but he whispered relaxingly, "They're safe. You can put them on after your bath. Just relax and trust me."

I hesitantly leaned back and slowly relaxed to his massages, "What changes in this past year?" He began massaging my shoulder blades, "Mana crystal's have developed quite a bit. You're able to talk long distances as long as both of you have touched that crystal before. Your watch is getting produced now, but yours is now outdated. Rayleigh is in the process of transferring everything to a newer one. We emptied your ring and are giving you a newer one. It just gives you bigger space and the way it comes out is different. It now appears on a platform. They made smaller and easier to travel appliances. There's now a portable stove top and fridge. They also created a storage space that can carry food. People now travel with just a backpack of things now."

I smiled bittersweetly, "... A lot has changed in just a year..." I looked at my hair, "... I wonder if Law's feelings will change or have changed..." He began massaging my neck, "They have. He cares and misses you to the point that he wants to break his promise with Coru, the god of light, to come see you..." I giggled, "I knew he was special." He chuckled, "Yes... However, Iris... You are the reason he's special." I looked up then down before closing my eyes and relaxing, "Law is special because Law is Law." Gengi laughed softly, "Yes. Yes. Whatever you say."

I giggled before smiling up at him, "Thanks Gengi... For always being by my side... Please make sure to stay that way... Whenever you think I'm hurt I want you to appear, alright?" He stroked my cheek, "Always." He mumbled as he began massaging the back of my head, "I exist for you after all." I hummed softly not hearing him, "I need a haircut. A short one... So whenever it reaches my lower back... It'll be time to go to the academy in a year and a half..." He took one of my arms and began massaging it, "Alright. We'll give you a wavy bob haircut." I smiled and nodded as we spent an hour relaxing in the tub and him massaging me. It was a little weird how he massaged every part except my privates for the entire hour. I told him he should relax, but he just made sure my body was completely relaxed and untensed.
