Mikeal tapped my cheek, "Hey, Iri." I groaned softly and turned into my pillow nuzzling it, but turned around and glared as he pulled off my blanket, "Iris, we're here. Get dressed in your armor, we're going straight to the guild." I huffed softly as I slipped out of bed and headed to my trunk at the foot of my bed next to the desk. I grabbed a new set of undergarments along with my under armor I made, and my actual armor before heading to the bathroom. I washed up and got ready for the meeting before walking out to see Mikeal dressed in his armor, coat, and beanie eating breakfast.
I joined him at the small table as he asked, "So what's the plan?" I looked at my watch, "Walk in, ask for instructions to join them at the camp, ask for number one gold adventurer to see if I can take him on and go from there I guess." I giggled at him rubbing the bridge of his brows. "... I guess that's fine... I'll get ranked up to gold then..." I nodded and giggled, "Sounds good!"
I looked at Gingi as he was eating my mana, "Gengi... Starting today it's full out. No holding back... I'll be using my magic, scarf, and you'll be using your combat abilities on top of the support." He nodded in agreement as Mikeal got up, "I'll pull us up to the front of the guild hall while you finish eating." I smiled and nodded as he headed out and I quickly finished my food and cleaned up the inside of the carriage.
As we stopped I opened the side door and hopped out with Gengi. I placed my hand over the door and applied my mana to a crystal. A wave of mana coats the carriage and successfully warded it before Mikeal and I headed into the guild hall. I held my wooden katana in my hand and against my shoulder as Mikeal was admiring the coat with his dagger in his sheath and his crossbow on his waist as his back held his quiver, "Wow... Despite being so thin, it's really warm." I giggled, "Yup! Praise my greatness Mikeal!" He sighed and shook his head as he opened the door for me, "Don't raise your ass too high Iri..."
I giggled, but looked around as the atmosphere was grim and serious. There were three adventurers in bandages at the counter and five scattered about the hall eating. We walked up to the counter listening to the biggest men, "You said that it was a baby! That was no baby!" The next man slammed his hands on the desk, "How the hell does a baby basilisk suddenly become an adult?!" I walked to the counter next to them, tuning out there bitching.
The woman asked, "Are you in the wrong area? This building is for gold adventurers and up. The building next door is for c-" I grabbed my license and handed it to her, "We both want to rank up. I want to become a Platinum and he wants to become a gold. How's that possible?" She took his and sighed, "To rank to Platinum you must take a written exam over the rules of the kingdom along with the kingdom's history... You also must also either challenge Sir Ethan or bring back one of two things... One, a Flind's talon or two, a Frost Troll's fang. Along with their mana crystal cores, of course."
She pulled out a map and pointed on it, "They're currently being controlled by a Bheur Hag about twenty miles to the northwest. There's currently a Flind's camp filled with ten or the Frost Troll's nest in a cave with about five. You must keep in mind, gold is immensely different from Platinum... It's called the higher tiers for a reason... To become a gold you need either three Ogres and a Hobgoblin Captain or to defeat a gold adventurer..."
I nodded softly, "Is Sir Ethan available? As for him, he has those already, so it's fine, right?" He pulled out a bag and placed it on the counter, so she opened it and looked through it. She held one in her hand and her eyes glowed. After a moment she put them in the bag and grabbed his card, "Congratulations Mr. Mikeal, you're now a gold adventurer."
He grinned as he high fived me, "Yes!" I giggled and looked at her as she got up, "Come with me Ms. Iris. You can take the exam right now as we get somebody to fetch Sir Ethan for you." I smiled and nodded as he went to the bar and relaxed. I followed her to the back where she handed me a stack of about twenty papers and a special pencil. She then sat at the desk in the front, "The pencil will detect any cheating or ill intent. Take your time, I'll be here the entire time and I'll grade as you go." I nodded softly and got to work.
