Chapter 5: Birthday (Part 5)

I blushed lightly as he held me closer, "... I'm not leaving you... I'll be away for a while and I'll be waiting for you... I'm not leaving you... I won't ever do that." I nuzzled and giggled as I hugged him back, "Good! Now..." I sat next to Nami with Law to the left and Nojiko to the right of Nami. Zoro, Ace, and Sabo sat on the other couch. Gengi was purring as I pet him and we played a game of cards. I intertwined Law's and mine fingers as I pet Gengi with the other.

Law flinched as Gengi looked up at him and then away. I tilted my head "Gengi, be nice to Law, ok?" He turns and nuzzles me, I was just informing him of something... I would like to be alone with him after this. I stroked his head more, "Ok, but only because he's staying the night." I looked up as it was time for Nami and Nojiko to go. I hugged them, "Thanks for the tangerine and books! Let's hang out again!" They nodded and waved before leaving.

It was soon Zoro's turn to leave and Teach took his place, but Teach stayed outside the door. Sabo was allowed to stay, but Luffy went home. So now it was just Law, Sabo, Ace, and I. I found myself nodding off around nine while playing cards again. Sabo got up and made his way to get Makino as Ace and Law talked. "Tora-o... You get to see just how hard she works to become first place and why she will be the best battle mage... You better work just as hard or harder if you want to be with her..."

Law held my hand tighter as I leaned against his shoulder, "... Alright..." Makino came in to wake me up, but Law picked me up in a princess carry with Gengi on top of my stomach. Makino watched me carefully, "... How are you able to carry her so easily?" He looked to the side, "... I worked out, but... I also use body reinforcement..." She huffed, "... You're being appropriate?" He nodded, "You allowed hugs and holding hands. I wouldn't disobey that. While it would be a little lonely to not be able to hug her, if you or her told me no, I would stop." She smiled softly, "I see... I'm glad..."

She took me as we reached my room, "Teach will be outside keeping watch tonight, so go with Ace to his room. You'll see her in the morning." Gengi hopped down and onto Law's shoulder, "He wants to talk to me about something. He'll teleport to her once we're done." She nodded as she woke me up. "Iri, let's go get ready for bed, ok?" I nodded sleepily, but I noticed Law.

I walked and wrapped my arms around him. I looked up and pointed to my forehead, so he chuckled and leaned on my forehead as he whispered, "Have good dreams." I nuzzled Law for a moment before walking off. "Nighty night Law..." He waved to me before I walked to the closet to change. I slipped off my clothes, but kept the necklace on. I put the crown and new scarf on the nightstand. I put all the things out of my ring for her to put up as I got ready in the bathroom.

I looked up at her as she dressed me in my nightgown, "Aunt Makino... Can you make my necklace waterproof and make it more durable? I want to wear it all the time..." She nodded, so I gave it to her. She whispered, "I'll give it back in the morning, alright?" I nodded softly and nuzzled into my new bunny stuffed animal as I slowly nodded off.
