Chapter 6: Endings (Part 5)

After soaking for a bit and washing Gengi I felt a lot better, so I slipped out and dried off. I braided my hair to the side for now as he dried off and ran to get Makino. I slipped on the strapless bra and it's matching panties, then the light pink dress with a lighter pink iris and diamond embroidery. I then slipped on the petticoat and pink leather flats with diamonds along the edge. I put my scarf along with Law's box into my ring before grabbing a golden bow.

I smirked as Gengi walked in with Makino. "Gengi!~" He backed away slightly, but Makino picked him up. Iri, don't make me wear that... It's suffocating... Plus they're going to call me cute and it'll be an- She set him in my lap before beginning on my hair. I smile sadly, "... It's my birthday... Please?" He groaned and puffed up for me to put it on. I smile and place it on. He huffs and lays down, You enchanted it... I giggle, "Of course! I don't want Gengi to suffer! It's your birthday too you know!" He blinked as I kissed his cheek and whispered, "Happy first birthday Gengi..." He huffed, Iri... I've been alive longer than that... A lot longer. I giggle, "It's your first year in my family though!" He smiled and laid down, True.

Makino put my hair up into a half ponytail before curling it, but keeping my bangs straight. She placed Law's clip in my hair as I did every birthday. I sigh shakily and stand up after applying my mascara and lip gloss. She secured my crown before we made our way out with Gengi in my arms. "... Gengi. Maybe you should go on a diet... You're getting fat."

He glared, I am not! I only eat bananas on occasion! I giggle, "You mean every tea time?" He jerked and looked away, Shut up... You still have cake every tea time and dinner. I flicked his forehead, "It was a compromise." He swatted my hand, I know. I know. I giggled and pet him, but looked up to see them looking anxious and pacing. I tilt my head, but giggle, "Hi guys!~" They sighed shakily as they noticed my smile and giggling.

Gengi looked up as Luffy laughed, "He's wearing a bow like a girl!" As Luffy was laughing the other three moved out of the way as I smiled angrily. "Luffy..." He started running, but I ran in front of him, "Luffy!~ Where do you think you're going?" He tried running off, but I held his shoulder and began dragging him with me. "... Aunt Makino... Help me please." He yelled as he was dragged off, "Wait! Iri, let's talk about this!"

I held him still as we put a red bow on his hat and around his neck. He groaned and dealt with it because I told him I'd give him a really juicy piece of meat and that it was my birthday. I hummed satisfied as we made our way back out towards the group. Ace, Sabo, and Zoro burst out in laughter as they saw him. I smirked as he pouted, "... You're so lucky it's your birthday and I get extra meat."

We made our way to the dining room, but I got stopped by Gengi and Aunt Makino. Ace, Sabo, and Zoro motioned me the other way, "It's not ready yet, let's go play for a bit." I huff softly, but freeze as I hear a deep scruffy voice, "She's my daughter Shanks. You stopped me on her thirteenth because I was late and it would be awkward for her, so I came this year, but now you say I shouldn't see her, why?" Shanks was furious, "You left her for thirteen years after my sister died... You relinquished the throne and passed it back to Sengoku! She's stressed out and deserves a good party before her actual castle one, which will probably be stressful for her as well! You're too late Roger!"

They tried to force me to move, but I was just shocked. I flinched as he asked, "Isn't that up to her to decide... I left to set things right with Rogue..." Shanks yelled, "Abandoning your children is not what Rogue would've wanted. If it took a week, hell even a month it would be passable, but it's been over a decade!"

I made my way there, despite their objections and looked inside to see a tall and very muscular man. He had a curved black mustache and intense dark brown eyes. He had thick black hair and a short, thick neck. He was wearing a long red coat. Beneath his coat, he wore a blue shirt and had a yellow sash around his waist. He wore a white cravat around his neck, dark blue pants, and black boots.

I blinked surprised at his grin, "So this is Iris!" I walked away from him and next to Shanks, "I want to make this clear..." I looked around to see Shanks, Makino, Garp, Bell-mère, Rayleigh, Shakky, Nojiko, and Nami look at me. I huff, "Uncle Shanks is my dad and Aunt Makino is my mother. They have done everything they could for me even though they didn't have to. I've seen you once, but you didn't even look at us, even though you were right next to me... To me you are and always will be a stranger... Whether you helped give birth to me or not... You're no one to me... I won't give chances to someone, who after my thirteenth birthday disappeared for two years again."

They flinched as I glared, "You only appear on my birthday when we enter the palace... It's obvious of your intentions and it's disgusting... Leave." I walked to Nami and Nojiko before grabbing their hands, "We're going to hang out. Let me know when it's ready." Nami and Nojiko huff and walk with me out as I ignore him, "Wait, that's not true!"

I held their hands tighter then huff as I slipped away and motioned for Gengi to be in my arms again. I just walked down the hallways with them as I asked, "So, I say we have an hour... What do you want to do?" Luffy smiled, "Eat meat!" Zoro replied, "Drink." Ace and Sabo just looked at each other while Nami smiled, "Let's go to your garden!" I smiled, "Ok!"

I hummed softly as we made our way there, but everyone froze as Nami pointed to my ears, "Those are really pretty." I smiled bittersweetly and brought one of my hands to it and held Gengi in the other, "... Law made them for me... He left me a present for every birthday for when he's gone... I wish I could've done the same..." I giggle, "They're his pure mana crystal that has a healing function and then a barrier that would stabilize me for about a day if I received a life threatening injury. It only works once."

I blush softly, "... It's only five more years... I can handle it... I can still visit you two, right?" Nami and Nojiko smiled, "Yup!" I giggled as I hummed, "Let's go! Some of my strawberries might be ready to be picked! You guys can help me!" So, for the next hour we sat around my garden and plucked all the ripe ones to snack on, while we waited.
