Chapter 15: Shattering (Part 4)

I sighed softly as we soon arrived. I looked up to see the guards protecting the gate. I nodded to them as they let us in. I closed my eyes, "I suppose there's idiots everywhere... At least hide your mana properly, you dumbasses... Leave now and I won't push the issue." Gengi hopped along, but even though their mana was almost completely erased, I was just too sensitive. I huffed and got off as he turned small and sat on my head, "Very well, come."

I held my hand out with its coated mana as I caught a poisoned knife. I twirled it and threw at a man standing up before bringing my leg up to kick the guy behind me. I activated my barrier as more knives were thrown, but they ledged inside as my mana froze. I casually stood up as it happened in similar places. I saw four people going for me, "Gengi, don't interfere... I need to let off some steam."

They all reached for those places and broke my barrier. I huffed as I simply jumped, my eyes widened and glowed as a grin formed as there were three more going for me in the air and one more with a crossbow. "Now we're talking!" I grabbed one of their blades as one stabbed me in the leg and two others were hit with their own swords. I ripped the sword out of my leg, twirled it, and stabbed the man as we fell.

I grabbed one of the assassin's heads to avoid the next stab. I landed behind him and round housed him into his buddies. I grabbed a blade that was dropped and flung it at the archer before grabbing another and immobilizing them. I grabbed some rope and began tying them up before grabbing the archer and doing the same as Gengi watched them.

As they were grouped up I saw the carriages arrive. I saw Shanks freeze then run up, "Iri!" I tilted my head, "What's up?" I waved to Lial, "Lial and Syl come inter-" I flinched as Shanks yelled loudly, "You're covered in blood and your leg is bleeding out Iri!" I looked down, "Gengi, come heal me please." I looked at Mikeal as he walked up and sighed, "You really do need h-" I shrugged him off and turned away from them, "... Gengi and I are going to my room..." Mikeal grabbed my hand, "Iris! I didn't lie to you!"

I yelled, "I trusted you more than anyone. Even more than Law! We've done and been through more together than anyone else. You were more than my brother! You were the only one I could talk to about anything! But to you!" I teared up, "To you I was just a replacement for your sister! If I wasn't! If you trusted me! You would tell me just like I told you everything! Now that I think about it, you never told me much about yourself and seemed bothered with everything I did!" My voice cracked as I screeched, "I was never your sister to begin with!"

I gritted my teeth as I applied my mana to my feet and sprinted to my room. I slammed my door as I collapsed onto the ground breathing heavily and beginning to hyperventilate. Gengi turned human and rubbed my back and brought me to his chest as I was crying and wailing at the pain in my chest and my entire body was cold. I cried and wailed until I felt like my throat was bleeding until Gengi forced me to sleep.
