Shikamaru stood still. This was the last thing he wanted to hear. Although he only responded with a sigh.
"How can we get suspicion off of you?" Shikamaru finally said. His father smiled. Confusing Shikamaru in the process. Wasn't this like a big deal? "You look just like me." There was a click in Shikamaru's brain. This would be the first time his father had seen him. "Ah. I do, don't I?" Shikamaru silently chuckled.
"Your friends? I'm guessing the next step in the plan that you didn't tell me about was..." He trailed off, he knew better than to say it out loud. Shikamaru nodded. "I can't explain here. I'm sure you know that." Shikamaru said with a sigh. They had started walking to the Nara clans compound.
"Yes, of course. Danzo hadn't been the greatest guy. No wonder he was a priority." Shikaku sighed as he entered the house.
And there sitting at the kitchen table, was himself. Shikamaru saw no sign of his mother though.
"We should be able to talk here." Shikaku said. He finally looked at his younger self and older Shikamaru. Both his younger self and Shikamaru looked at each other before making a face.
They both definitely remembered the whole separation thing.
"Did something happen between you two?" Shikaku asked confusion plastered on his face.
The younger Shikamaru grunted. "What happened?" Shikaku asked again. "Well, uh... It wasn't just a puff of smoke, when I turned into my original self." Shikamaru didn't want to let his younger self explain anything that happened. His younger self looked confused, but was glad he didn't have to explain it.
But with what Shikamaru had said. His father took the hint. Shikaku's eyes widened. "Oh, that's weird, no wonder you two look uncomfortable." Shikaku said as he laughed at the now red younger Shikamaru.
"Who is he anyway?" His younger self pointed at the older Shikamaru. "Ah. You." Shikaku said. Shikamaru wanted to hit his father, but he knew his younger self needed to be told. If his younger self continued to believe some random guy came out of him, he would be far more traumatized than if he knew it was his future self.
"Me?" The younger Shikamaru said with an annoyed frown. "I come from the future." Shikamaru made himself sound weird. "Yeah crazy huh." Shikamaru dropped the wired voice to sound like a smartass.
"How did you even get to the past, shouldn't that be. Well. Impossible?" The younger Shikamaru said as he crossed his arms. "Usually." The older Shikamaru also crossed his arms.
"Whatever." The younger Shikamaru walked away. "now let's talk." Shikaku finally said. "Right." Shikamaru nodded before sitting down.
Sasuke was being pulled all around the village but Itachi. He originally planned on staying in just the clan compound but didn't feel like arguing.
"You were with the blonde, am I correct." Jiraiya said standing behind Sasuke and his brother. He had gotten an eye patch to cover his Rinnegan. His hair had became to unreliable. "Na- Tobi?" Sasuke stuttered slightly.
Sasuke had figured out Naruto's nickname and burst out laughing. It was ironic. Tobi? Of all things?
"Yes Tobi." Jiraiya's eyes narrowed. Itachi looked between Jiraiya and Sasuke.
"You have questions? Get on with them." Itachi finally said. Jiraiya laughed but quickly put on a serious face. "You want me to ask them in front of Itachi?" He asked Sasuke.
"I don't care." Sasuke had no emotion in his voice. Itachi flinched at the words. No one noticed. His brother really changed into someone else, guessing after the genocide.
"So be it." Jiraiya shrugged. He didn't care if Itachi listened.
"Your friends with Tobi. Are you not?" Jiraiya finally said. Sasuke stared blankly at the sage. "Why would he ask that? Nothing about Danzo?" Sasuke thought to himself. Sasuke narrowed his eyes.
"Yes I am." Sasuke finally said. "Tobi slightly informed us, on his missing arm and your own." Jiraiya waited for Sasuke's response, to deny that his friend had never lost an arm.
"Yes it was when we were around 18." There was a hint of reminiscing in his voice. Jiraiya was surprised. They both really did take each other's arm. "Why would you do that? To your own friend?" Jiraiya inquired.
Sasuke thought for a moment. "You know how we are leaf Shinobi?" Sasuke asked, his voice low. Jiraiya nodded.
"I had abandoned the ways of a Shinobi when I was young. Driven by the sole purpose to kill someone. I had completed my goal and found out things, that made me regret my actions." Sasuke didn't continue his tangent. Jiraiya stared at Sasuke, calculating him.
"We had fought the day I left. Almost killing Tobi in the process." Jiraiya was taken aback. "We finally had our final fight when we were 18. Our final attack, caused us to lose our arms." Sasuke finally finished.
"Where did you fight?" Jiraiya finally asked. Sasuke stayed silent for a few minutes before looking at the sage again. "The valley of the end." Sasuke looked back at Itachi. Jiraiya stood still. He expected it to be some battlefield maybe a pasture of sorts. But the valley of the end? There was something poetic about it. Jiraiya was about to ask more questions but, he didn't see the two Uchiha anymore.
Jiraiya decided to take what he got. He was going to report back to the Hokage. "I was there only a few weeks ago. From how the fight sounded. There should have been some sort of destruction. But there was none. Jiraiya sighed.
He couldn't help but believe the Uchiha, something about the story. Made it real. It was believable.
Jiraiya stood in front of his old sensei. "A fight to what seemed to be to the death? All to bring a friend that went rouge back to the village? Hiruzen sighed. It seemed absurd.
"There was a disturbance in the direction of The Valley Of The End." Jiraiya looked back to his sensei. "We will go check it out. Me and you personally. Something tells me, that we shouldn't send anyone else in our stead."
"The disturbance. Was a burst of chakra. Chakra that reached our own village before seemingly disappearing." Jiraiya stiffened. The Valley Of The End was a whole day away. It reached here?
