Ch.49 An interrupted lie

Naruto took another look around the room. They had been completely serious. Had be made a mistake when he decided to do nothing about the enemy Ninja they brought in?

Naruto finally rested his eyes back at the Hokage.

"That's completely ridicu-" he was cut off by none other than the panicking Shuisi himself. Naruto knew Shuisi was panicking by the way his chakra was spiking in random gushes.

"I'm sorry! It's my fault they found out!" Naruto looked at Shuisi and punched him on the side of the head. "Shuisi! Your supposed to be smart!" Naruto but his lip. "Then again, I never really knew you." Naruto flicked Shuisi on the head. "Sorry. Now it really is my fault." Shuisi kicked the ground with his foot.

"Yea it is." Naruto blankly said as he looked back at the Hokage. Shuisi looked betrayed by the lack of comfort he received from Naruto. But Naruto didn't know that.

The Hokage stared in disbelief, but not at Naruto, at Shuisi. "You knew?! And you didn't come tell me!" The Hokage yelled. Shuisi's face went blank. "I'm pretty sure this guy is the Hokage, from what Sasuke said." Naruto was about to hit Shuisi on the head again, but the hoagie would have connected the dots anyway.

"Hokage?" Hiruzen looked back up at Naruto. "Unfortunately, no. I am not a Hokage. I never got the chance." Hiruzen's eyes tightened. "What's that supposed to mean? Did someone else become Hokage and not you?" Naruto shook his head.

"If I were to go back. There wouldn't even be a village to go back to." Hiruzen's eyes widened. The other Shinobi in the room mumbled amongst themselves. The Hokage quickly dismissed them.

"Who are you then..." The Hokage asked trailing off. The Hokage knew who this was. It wasn't hard to guess now. "No. I know you, Naruto." The Hokage laughed to himself. Shuisi stared at the Naruto. "Now what?" Naruto rubbed his chin. "I'll probably have to inform the others." Naruto shrugged. "And now Sasuke is going to feel bad for you Shuisi." Shuisi scrunched his face.

"He has no reason to feel bad." Naruto shrugged. "He is the one who told you we were from the future." Shuisi's eyes widened. "Wha- no! Its not his fault!" The Hokage watched in disbelief. Hiruzen's eyes widened.

"Naruto..." Naruto looked back at the Hokage. "Hm?" The Hokage's eyes darkened. "Who killed Danzo?" Naruto let out a sigh to both Shuisi's disbelief and the Hokage's. "Can't tell ya who. But can tell you why." The Hokage nodded slowly.

"It was to prevent the genocide of the Uchiha clan. Lots of Sharingan eyes fell into the wrong hands." Hiruzen's eyes widened before narrowing. "I see... It wasn't prevented then. Why?" Shuisi began talking. "Sasuke told me, it was because Danzo had stolen my eye."

Hiruzen's eyes furrowed. "He took you eye?" Naruto butted in before Shuisi could speak. "Since Shuisi's eye was taken he couldn't stop the coup from happening, hence why the genocide took place." Hiruzen slowly nodded. This was a lot of new information.

"Who else knows your from the future Naruto?" The Hokage grimaced. "Other than all the people that were In here." Naruto nodded. "Kakashi, Obito, Itachi and Shikaku." Hiruzen's eyes widened. "Is that why he was..." Naruto smiled. "Shikamaru is our 'nara' friend that your Anbu banged up." Hiruzen's eyes widened. "Shikaku wasn't conspiring against the village."

Naruto narrowed his eyes. "No he was not." Naruto let out a clicking noise with his tongue. "Well... I still can't tell you anything." Hiruzen's eyes hardened and his body tensed. "Why is that? I have the most power to help." Naruto sighed and looked at Hiruzen impatiently.

"You will only make things worse Hiruzen." Naruto said with a dark tone. Hiruzen's eyes widened. He never had thought Naruto would have been capable of something like this.

"Then what? What are you going to do?" Hiruzen stood up and put his hands on his desk. Naruto narrowed his eyes. "That would invalidate my point, of not telling you anything. Do you think we just weren't telling you because we felt like it?" Shuisi looked at Naruto's eyes.

They had been filled with guilt, sadness and however small it was, hatred.

"It think you should accept it he's not telling you Hokage- sama." Shuisi bowed respectfully and grabbed Naruto's arm and they both left.

Naruto looked at Shuisi confused, but in the end Naruto was glad Shuisi had pulled him out.

Hiruzen stood in shock but Shuisi's actions, and especially Naruto. Naruto had this nervousness in his movement and voice. Hiruzen sat down after a long time. He sighed before saying, "Hokage huh?"

"I'm sorry what?"

Shikamaru looked at his friend in disbelief and so did Sasuke. (Maybe the first emotion he has shown on his face since he got here.)

"The Hokage had found out we are from the future. I doubt even if I denied being from the future, Hiruzen wouldn't believe me." Naruto said with a tired sigh.

"It was me who told him straight up." Shuisi said as he leaned on a tree. Sasuke shook his head. "It was unavoidable. You just sped up the process." Shuisi crossed his arms and let out a "hmph."

"You didn't tell Hiruzen anything did you?" Sasuke finally said looking over at Naruto.

Naruto's eyes widened. "Of course not! I'm not an idiot! We all know if someone like him were to know the things that happen in the future he would just make things worse."

They all seemed to nod in agreement to Naruto's statement. "Future? How interesting." Naruto looked up to above them with a sigh. Jiraiya blinked. None of them were surprised except Shuisi! "You told me on purpose! You could have at least let me felt cool!" Jiraiya let a fake tear run down his cheek. Jiraiya hopped from the tree he was in. "If secrecy was what you were after, you surely lost it." Sasuke shrugged. "Secrecy was just so we wouldn't have people on our asses like someone we know." The three of them stared at Jiraiya begrudgingly. Jiraiya nervously laughed. "C'mon Naruto! Help me out here!" Naruto's eyes tightened.

Maybe another reason they didn't want to tell anybody was so they didn't feel any unwanted emotions as well.
