Ch.48 Hesitance

Asuma had heard of this before, with Shikamaru. Or the adult named Shikamaru. Shikaku had asked to see him later. Asuma didn't recall every word that was said but he remembered it being as strange as this right now.

"What is he talking about Obito." Asuma finally said. Everyone wanted to ask but no one had done so. Obito looked at Asuma and stared at the rest of the group.

"Just as you failed to tell me rouge ninja were involved. I will fail in telling any of you anything in return." Asuma stared at Obito in disbelief.

"We hadn't failed to tell you anything Obito!" Asuma yelled. Choza looked at the group that had rescued them. "You didn't tell him who was involved in the attack? We had sent that specifically so the people sent would be aware and careful." Choza looked back up at the person who they called Obito. "I'm sorry you weren't informed of something such as that. You handled yourself well otherwise." Obito nodded.

"Even if you had informed me, I would have no right in telling any of you." Hana narrowed her eyes but nodded. "Alright then. Let's just head back." Everyone nodded and agreed.

Obito had went ahead of them. He had no intention of small talk.

Choza looked around himself. "Why wouldn't you inform him?" Asuma narrowed his eyes. "We were told not to. The Hokage had said that it would have been for the best. But clearly it was not." Choza looked ahead at Obito.

"Strange." Is all Choza said before dropping the subject.

Obito took a sudden right and stopped. He felt the other group of leaf Shinobi slow down but continue. Obito was glad that they didn't follow them.

He looked around and saw Shuisi he had been leaving the tree line. He saw some travelers as well.

Obito stayed where he was before finally jumping down. He didn't want to alert the travelers in any way.

Naruto narrowed his eyes before looking to his side. And just as he did Obito came from the treeline. Obito stared at Naruto in shock but quickly put on a straight face. Shuisi just watched.

"What happened?" Obito finally asked. "Our mission was a trap from the beginning." Obito slowly nodded. He could tell Naruto did not want to talk about it. "Shouldn't you be on a mission?" Naruto finally asked. "I finished and I branched off from the group. I felt your chakra so I came here." Naruto nodded.

"Well alright then." A silence surrounded the three. "Does he know, cause I know something important." Naruto looked at Obito confused. "Ah! The future thing." Naruto nodded. "Yes you both know." Obito nodded and Shuisi stared at Obito.

"When on my mission, I had encountered a person from the future. I do not know if anybody else was, as I killed them." Naruto stared at Obito. "What about the one you kept alive?" Obito was quiet. "They took him in for questioning." Naruto stared ahead of himself. He didn't know if it would be a bad or good thing. "Alright." Is all Naruto said.

Shuisi stared at Obito. "Are you an Uchiha?" Obito stared. "I am." Shuisi stared harder. "I've never seen you before." Obito shrugged. "Makes sense, I wasn't in the village till just a little while ago." Shuisi shrugged. "I guess that makes sense."

There was an awkward silence. Naruto stood up. "Let's head back to the village." Shuisi and Obito nodded. "Alright." Shuisi responded. Obito picked up their still unconscious teammate and started to head back.

After an hour of running they were finally back to the village gates. Obito sighed. "Finally." Obito set thier teammate on the ground. Naruto stared at Obito but sighed. "We need to go to the Hokage to brief the mission." Naruto said staring at Obito.

Obito nodded. "Have fun." Obito swirled out of sight. Naruto picked up their teammate once more.

They registered their teammate into the hospital and even though Shuisi urged Naruto to check himself in as well, Naruto denied and went to the Hokage tower.

Naruto knocked and someone opened the door. There was another team in the office but the Hokage urged them to enter. "Are you okay blondie?" Hana said placing her hands on her hips. "Ah, yes. Don't worry about it." The Hokage stared at them confused.

"Where is the rest of your teammates?" Shuisi handed the Hokage the scrolls. "They were not leaf Shinobi, we did not learn thier true affiliation." The Hokage's eyebrows furrowed. "Why is that?" Shuisi looked at Naruto. "They exploded themselves once they realized they were not going to win the fight." The Hokage nodded grimly.

"Then infiltration.." the Hokage trailed off. "We need to ask you something Tobi." The Hokage began again.

Naruto looked around the room. Everyone seemed to be averting their gaze from Naruto. Shuisi seemed as confused as Naruto.

"What is the question that means an entire team needs to be here to hear it?" Naruto narrowed his eyes to the lack of an answer.

"Get on with the question then." Naruto waved his hand in the air.

The Hokage nodded. "We are more confused than angry just to call your nerves." Naruto nodded and the Hokage continued. "There has been multiple instances of you and your friend getting in situations that could be considered more than strange."

"Please just get on with it. I do not need to be comforted." The Hokage nodded slowly. "We have a lot of evidence for my next claim. So please do not see this as a joke." Naruto crossed his arms. "Hurry I'm poisoned." The Hokage's eyes widened but continued regardless. "We have reasons to believe..." The Hokage trailed off. "That you and your three friends are from the future just as some of the enemy Ninja we have encountered have been." Naruto kept him composure. He stared at the Hokage then the rest of the room. He kept his composure but Shuisi in fact. Did not.
