Whoever's scent was on that piece of the cloth is somewhere nearby.
Pakkun grunted. All the other dogs crouched near the ground. Whoever they were tracking had been close to the village. Pakkun thought the scent might have been familiar but dismissed the idea.
The other dogs look at Pakkun's direction. He nodded in response. A couple of the dogs turned into clouds of smoke. Pakkun hopped on top of a tree. He crouched.
Naruto had been looking around. He wanted to see if there was any traces of Zetsu. The faster they could get rid of Zetsu in particular, the better. Especially due to the fact Zetsu is just a black blob that relies on other people.
Before he could continue his search he was being called by Kakashi. "They said they found the scent." Kakashi's eyes were blank. In the end, somewhere inside him told him that Obito wasn't alive.
"Then let's move quickly. We don't want your friends to get in the way." Naruto quickly jumped out of the house and made his way into the tree branches. Kakashi followed close behind.
Guys head perked up.
"I can sense Kakashi again!" Guy jumped up from his feet.
Since they had lost track of Kakashi's chakra they had waited in the same area. "C'mon! Let's go quickly! Before he disappears again!" Kuranai shared guys enthusiasm.
Shikamaru scoffed. "Damn. I really had thought they might have gotten away." Shikamaru sighed before jumping down from his hiding spot. If they were waiting they must not be going very far. The group of Shinobi. We're too close as is.
Shikamaru was in his normal form. He jumped in front of the charging Guy.
Guy halted to a stop. Shikamaru needed to get guy out of the picture. Guys Taijustu wasn't something he wasted to chance with.
Now that Shikamaru studied his opponents. He was going against a Taijustu user and a genjutsu user. Not to mention Asuma. The other two were sensory ninjas.
"Who are you-" guy didn't get a chance to finish his sentence. Shikamaru had knocked him out. He was both older and more experienced. As hard as this would've been if they were also from the future, in the end they aren't.
"What's the big idea! Who are you!" Asuma hissed. They were all in defensive positions. "I'm afraid. You can't follow them any longer." Shikamaru looked at his old sensei with dark eyes. The last time he saw him he had been a re-animation.
"That's our friend that your stopping us from following! It's non of your business!" Kuranai yelled. Shikamaru sighed shakily. Kuranai had been pregnant with Asuma's child when she had died. "My friend is with Kakashi." Shikamaru finally said.
"Who is your friend?" Asuma said he changed his chakra through his special made Kunai. "He's a blonde." Shikamaru shrugged.
They were surrounded by trees. The perfect place for Shikamaru to fight.
Before Shikamaru could blink there was Wind style Kunai flying in his direction. Several Shurikan came from the sensory Ninja.
Shikamaru doged out of the way. He used his jutsu to grab one of the Wind infused chakra Kunai and threw it back at the group of Shinobi.
Asuma's eyes widened before he dodged out of the way. "That is a Nara clan jutsu! Who are you!" Asuma yelled.
Shikamaru jumped in behind the sensory type ninja. They had expected him to jump there. But not that fast. Shikamaru grabbed them both before hitting there heads together. There was a loud crack. Shikamaru's eyes tightened. He hadn't meant to hit their head together that hard, but it is what it is.
"Your a spitting image of Shikaku Nara. But you look younger." Asuma finally said. They were growing increasingly more nervous. Whoever this guy was, he had no issue with any of their attacks.
Shikamaru let out a sigh. "Yea whatever." Shikamaru started heading in Asuma and Kuranai's direction. Asuma instinctively grabbed Kuranai and got out of the way of Shikamaru.
Shikamaru's heart tightened. He had failed to protect Kuranai before, and now, he was going to be the one to hurt her. Shikamaru stopped and looked sadly at his past sensei and Kuranai.
They looked frightened. "Please just don't follow them." Shikamaru voice was low. They seemed taken aback from the sudden change in thier attacker. Asuma only nodded.
He had realized that whoever this guy was. He wasn't trying to harm them. Only stop them. He had looked unhappy when he hurt the Sensory ninja more than he had intended. And now. He seemed sad to even harm them.
"Why?" Asuma finally said at the retreating figure. Whoever this mystery Nara was, he seemed to flinch at Asuma's words but didn't turn around to acknowledge them.
"It's this way?" Naruto checked with Kakashi. "positive." Kakashi didn't want to speak. He wanted to see his old teammate again. Even if he hated him.
They stopped in front of what seemed to be a neater version of the other house. It had looked like it was made from a earth style jutsu. But the difference was... Naruto sensed Obito inside. Naruto's gaze hardened.
"I want you to start the conversation Kakashi." Naruto finally spoke. Kakashi flinched. But Kakashi hesitantly nodded. "Ok."
They ran into the house of Obito and there he was. But. He was expecting them it seemed.
But. Would he expect what they came here to do?
They could see his eye in his signature orange spiral mask. "Obito." Kakashi managed to say after a long silence. Kakashi seems out of breathe. Obito's figure straightened slightly.
He had not expected them to know his identity. "Why? Why, wouldn't you come back?" Kakashi said before he lowered his gaze. "No. I know why you didn't. Because I broke your promise." Kakashi looked back at Obito.
You couldn't see his expression. But he seemed to be confused. Naruto stared from the side.
"Obito. Take off the mask. So we can speak face to face." Kakashi said while clenching his fists. He had imagined what Obito would look like but the image was never without blood.
