Ch.41 Hospital, please?

Shikamaru sighed. He had been conscious this entire time.

Shikamaru looked over to his dad and Sasuke. They had been trying to treat his head.

"Does the leaf do this often?" Sasuke waved his hand towards Shikamaru. He was talking about the fact they hadn't treated him before interrogation.

Shikamaru shook his head. "Not usually, only if the person who is being interrogated it considered truly dangerous. Which... Doesn't happen often."

Shikamaru looking up the ceiling. They were in his dad's house. "I wonder where mom is anyway..." Shikamaru moved his hand slightly.

This caught the attention of Shikaku. "Please don't move Shikamaru." Sasuke nodded in agreement. "We don't have to get on the move right away like we did back then. Just rest. or... Try."

Shikamaru let out a weak sigh. If someone were to see him, they'd wonder why they weren't taking him to a hospital.

"Get on the move right away? This is a common occurrence?" Shikaku looked up from his son to Sasuke. Sasuke nodded slowly. "Unfortunately. When it came to the idea of kidnapping it was usually Shikamaru to get kidnapped." Sasuke shrugged.

"He's the brains usually anyway." Sasuke looked back down at his friend.

Shikaku's eyes tightened before looking at Shikamaru again. "So what? What's next?" His father seemed to be very distraught probably upset as well.

He probably doesn't like the idea that Shikamaru has been kidnapped several times. It was unavoidable though. Kidnapping became a last resort near the 'end' of the war.

From the way Sasuke said it, it made it sound like Shikamaru has been kidnapped like 100 times. He's only been kidnapped twice. Still a bad thing but who cares.

Shikamaru moved his eyes towards the door. He heard his younger self, Ino and Choji.

Shikaku looked up towards the door before sighing. "I thought they would have been gone longer. Sorry." Shikaku looked over at Sasuke.

Sasuke shook his head. "It's not your fault. I'll move Shikamaru to the couch if that's fine." Shikamaru was glad for that. He had been set on the dining table for some reason. Both uncomfortable and unsanitary.

Shikaku nodded. "I don't mind." Sasuke nodded before picking Shikamaru up holding him bridal style.

"This is embarrassing for the both of us. Don't worry." Sasuke said before laughing quietly and setting Shikamaru down onto the couch. It was the only encouragement Sasuke knew how to give, a joke.

"Hi dad." The younger Shikamaru waved before taking off his shoes. Ino and Choji copying soon after. "I was wondering if we could hang out here. It's hot." Choji nodded and so did Ino. "It's so unbearable! It sucks being sweaty with long hair!" Ino whined. Her hair hadn't been necessarily long yet, but it was a good point.

"Ah, yes of course. I'm dealing with something right now, so please stay in Shikamaru's room." Shikaku smiled.

The younger Shikamaru eyes narrowed. "Yea ok. We wouldn't have been really anywhere else anyway." Shikamaru led his two friends into his room. He snatched a glance to his living room. He saw someone on the couch and someone sitting on a chair.

Shikamaru shrugged. Probably his 'future' self and some work person his dad knew.

Shikaku walked back to the living room. "Alright... Now what." Neither Sasuke or Shikaku knew how to actually treat Shikamaru. Shikamaru grunted. It was supposed to be a sort of laugh, but it didn't come out that way.

Shikaku shook his head. "Sorry this had happened Shikamaru." Shikamaru lightly shrugged. "Don't worry about it." Sasuke said what Shikamaru wanted to.

"What about Naruto?" Shikaku looked at Sasuke. "We will wait to leave Konaoha until Shikamaru is fully healed. And if... If miraculously Naruto convinces the Hokage and Jiraiya we aren't the bad guys... We won't have to leave." Shikaku nodded. "Fat chance though."

"You don't seem at all surprised Tobi." Jiraiya said looking at Naruto. Naruto shrugged in response. "I've already known. If that wasn't obvious." Naruto looked over to his old teacher.

Jiraiya nodded. "You seem to know a lot of things. Things we would have ever hoped to have known in the first place." Jiraiya looked around the room. "You are... Strange." Jiraiya received no response.

"Yea anyway..." Naruto looked around himself. He didn't want any of Danzo's followers listening. "Sasuke... And my other friend..." Naruto didn't finish his sentence.

Hiruzen was about to speak before Jiraiya butted in, "Don't worry about it. They are fine to roam the village." Naruto raised an eyebrow.

Jiraiya continued much to Hiruzen's dismay. "Soon after they had escaped... I had realized, that they had no intention of harming anybody. Especially you."

"What made you think such things? Hiruzen asked. "You saw the destruction. You agreed with me that they must be kept under supervision." Naruto furrowed his eyebrows. "So The Valley Of The End. It truly was..." Naruto said barely above a whisper.

Obito looked over at the blonde. "So what... He said wasn't a lie?" Obito had been talking about Kurama. Naruto shook his head. "I wouldn't believe he would have. But no, he did not lie." Naruto looked back up from the floor.

Jiraiya and Hiruzen look at the both of them. "Who's he?" Hiruzen asked. "Is there another person in your group we don't know about?" Jiraiya butted in. Naruto shrugged. "I dunno." Jiraiya looked at Naruto unamused.

"Your so secretive that it's annoying." Jiraiya shook his head. "Whatever." He looked back to the Hokage. "I do not believe they pose a threat to the village. Let's be honest. If they had planned on harming the village, they would have done it by now." Hiruzen narrowed his eyes seemingly thinking about Jiraiya's words.

"Then. If you three aren't such a threat as we believe you three to be... Then I have a proposition." Naruto narrowed his eyes. "Go ahead." Hiruzen stood up. "You three claim to be leaf Shinobi." Naruto nodded. "We are." Hiruzen looked out the window behind himself. "Then what if you were to become leaf Shinobi? Go on missions we assign?" Naruto looked at Hiruzen. "I wouldn't mind." Apparently surprising Hiruzen. Naruto shrugged. "I have nothing against the village and as I said. We are leaf Shinobi. Or at least used to be..." Naruto gave his signature smile and put a thumbs up. "Give me a headband and I'm ready to be of service!" Obito inwardly smiled. "It was strange to see such a duplicate of Minato act like his old self."
