Ch.39 A turnaround

Naruto looked at the ground. The last thing he wanted when they began planning on changing the future. Was that they would be seen as criminals. But maybe it had been foolish to think the village would accept them so fast.

Obito stared at where the Uchiha used to stand. "That was Sasuke?" Obito said curiously. "Yes it was." Naruto sighed. "Well. You can come if you want. But I'm going to observe what happens." Obito nodded. "I'll be behind you." Obito shrugged. Naruto smiled. He doesn't know how he got Obito to trust him so fast. But maybe it had been because Obito wasn't to far into the plan of Infinite Tsukuyomi.

Sasuke heard the yells of Anbu around the building. He concealed himself quickly.

They probably know we are coming. Sasuke gripped his sword tightly before sighing. "I wonder if they already know I killed Danzo or not." Before Sasuke finished his sentence he heard Shikaku yelling. Yelling at Jiraiya.

Sasuke listened carefully and followed Shikaku's voice. Jiraiya from how he was talking. He was pretty angry. Sasuke sighed again. He took placement on a flat surface above where Shikamaru was most likely. Then he was in the building. And Shikamaru, was most likely where he stood.

Jiraiya stepped back a few places and Shikaku's yells stopped. All they knew, is that Sasuke had just teleported where Shikamaru was. And now, Shikamaru was gone.

"What have you done?" Jiraiya said straightening his posture. "Nothing of your concern." Sasuke looked over to Shikaku. "If I were to let Shikaku escape... He could aid Shikamaru." Sasuke pushed himself out of his thoughts, and shook his head.

Jiraiya was on edge, hence why he didn't attack yet and gave no signal for the Anbu to attack either. "Where did he go?" Jiraiya asked impatiently.

"None of your concern." Sasuke remarked. He knew Shikamaru was weak as of right now. He didn't have to his his chakra.

Sasuke gripped his sword and looked over to Shikaku. He could see the impatience in Shikaku's eyes. Sasuke narrowed his eyes.

"You have no right to intervene and interrogation." Jiraiya placed his eyes on the Uchiha who called himself Sota. "I had all the right. My standards for The leaf village are low. But not treating a prisoner... Is the exact reason why I hated this village and left." Sasuke looked back over at the sage.

"You are a rouge ninja. That's what I expect." Jiraiya crossed his arms. Sasuke nodded.

"It is true. I am rouge. You know the story." Sasuke said. Jiraiya furrowed his eyebrows. "The damage. The damage at The Valley Of The End. That truly was you and Tobi?" Sasuke contemplated his answer.

"It was." Sasuke's face was blank, he showed no emotion. Jiraiya looked around himself. He saw no signs of the blonde. Before Jiraiya could continue stalling for time. Sasuke disappeared and reappeared at Shikaku's side. He didn't even blink. And yet... He didn't even see the Anbu being taken down.

Before he could run to Sota and Shikaku, Shikaku was already leaving and Sota was blocking Jiraiya's path.

"Your stall for time was... Severely obvious." Sasuke scoffed. Jiraiya looked over at Sasuke with dark eyes. "You really know how to embarrass someone." Before Jiraiya could continue Sasuke was removing his eye patch.

Jiraiya watched carefully. He had thought he had lost his eye in some way.

"I wanted to keep this secret honestly." Sasuke sighed.

Jiraiya stared at the Uchiha in shock. A Rinnegan. Not just a Rinnegan but it had the same marking's as a Sharingan.

His thoughts were screaming Nagato. "Where..." Jiraiya trailed off. "I did not steal Nagato's eye. I had activated my Rinnegan myself." Sasuke said seemingly reading the sages thoughts.

Jiraiya was about to speak once more before being interrupted. "Do not chase after me." Sasuke said "Huh." The sages face was confused. Before he had time to start chasing the Uchiha, he was gone.

Jiraiya cussed inwardly to himself. He didn't give it a second thought this time. He chased after what he thought was a trail of the Uchiha's chakra.

Naruto watched as Sasuke used Jiraiya's old student as a decoy to escape.

"You three know Nagato?" Obito asked. "We do. I had fought him before." Naruto observed as he watched Jiraiya exit the Hokage tower looking around. "Will he be able to track Sasuke down?" Obito asked while crossing his arms. "No. He is faster than me." Naruto said.

Obito nodded before looking back over to where the sage stood. Then without warning he was being tackled to the ground by the sage.

Naruto gasped silently. "Obito!" Naruto yelled before grabbing the sage and pulling him back by his hair. Jiraiya cussed before looking at Naruto and Obito.

Jiraiya's eyes tightened. "Then I followed the wrong trail." Jiraiya sighed. "Sorry-" Jiraiya cut himself off before looking at a disheveled and confused Obito.

"You said Obito. Did you not?" Jiraiya looked at the blonde but waited for no answer. "Obito?" Jiraiya looked back over to the Uchiha with a massive scar on his face.

Obito looked back Jiraiya to signal, he was in fact Obito Uchiha. Jiraiya furrowed his eyebrows. "So you weren't lying when you told Kakashi that he was alive." Jiraiya's eyes widened. "You guys arent the bad guys... Are you." Naruto looked over at his old teacher in disbelief.

"N-no! We don't want anything to happen to the village." Naruto felt like crumpling to the ground. He hadn't realized that these were the words he wanted to hear.

"We would have never harmed the village." Naruto sighed and looked over at Obito. He still wasn't going to tell Jiraiya about the whole future thing. Jiraiya looked over at Obito. "Why didn't you... Why didn't you come back?" Obito flinched slightly. "He is back now!" Naruto grabbed Obito. "I had thought you were Sota. I suppose. You both are Uchiha." Jiraiya shrugged. "Yea... But you both need to follow me." Naruto sighed and nodded. "Yea. That's fair." Naruto and Obito followed the white haired sage.
