Ch.59 The rebuilding

It had been about a month since the whole Pein thing. Turns out, Yamato or his real name, Tenzo was still more than willing to help the re-building process, it has gone mostly uninterrupted. The occasional traveling Shinobi from a different village had been funny to watch. Every color that colored their face would disappear.

Although... Naruto had yet to see it. Naruto had been in a coma for about a month. Sasuke was in a coma for a week or two he is freshly waken up. And Shikamaru hadn't even entered one.

During the meteor part of the battle, he had used most of Kurama's chakra and his own. The only thing that allowed his to live was the other tailed beast chakras that still resided in his body as dorment beings, only making themselves known when they need to aid Naruto.

It has been a while since Sasuke and Naruto had fused their chakras in that way. It tired the both of them to no end.

But... There was a time skip for a reason. Naruto is going to wake up soon enough.

Fugaku looked over at his son, his future one. Mikoto shared the same look.

"Hey! Future me! Teach me how to do that now!" The younger Sasuke was referring to the Susanoo. Sasuke gave his younger self an obvious frown. "How many more times are you going to ask? I've already said no. Several times." Itachi mumbled slightly. "Since you got here Sasuke you have shown no emotion, but when you do it's kinda funny." Shuisi laughed.

Sasuke sighed. "I need to go. They said Naruto is making a full recovery. That means he will wake up soon." Itachi crossed his arms. "You two are practically inseparable." Sasuke's eye twitched.

For some reason, the thought that Sasuke and Naruto were inseparable was kind of wierd. It might have been the part of him that still remained before he left the village that told him so.

Sasuke only responded with a "Ew." And disappeared.

Sasuke made his way to he hospital and was greeted by Obito. "I thought you would have came." Obito stopped Sasuke. "He's awake. Thought I should tell you." Sasuke nodded and walked even faster to Naruto's hospital room.

And just as Obito had said, Naruto was awake. Though, Hiruzen and Jiraiya was in the room. It didn't deter Sasuke.

"Hi Naruto." Sasuke made a small wave. Naruto smiled in response. "You definitely heal fast." Jiraiya said with his arms crossed. Naruto scratched the back of his neck. "Kyūbi." Hiruzen nodded. "That's what I want to talk about actually." Sasuke remained quiet.

"Have you managed to use the Kyūbi chakra and take it as you wish?" Hiruzen questioned. "Or was it because the Kyūbi didn't want to die so he lender you the chakra?" Jiraiya piper in another option. Naruto shook his head. "He gives it to me willingly. I do not take it from him by force." Hiruzen stood still agape.

"Willingly?" Naruto shrugged. "It was when I was... 17?" Naruto made a fake thinking pose. "Well it doesn't matter." Naruto waved his hand on the air. Jiraiya made a quiet hum. "May I check the seal?" Naruto furrowed his eyebrows. "I suppose?" Sasuke watched as Naruto lifted the hospital shirt and revealed a black seal covering his stomach. Jiraiya checked it as he said he did and his eyebrows furrowed.

"The seal seems a lot looser than it should be." Naruto laughed. "Well yes I suppose it would." Sasuke crossed his arms. "Kurama doesn't like the cage, so he doesn't reside in it any longer." Jiraiya looked at Sasuke. Hiruzen remained quiet. "Kurama? Walk around free?" Jiraiya asked with a raised eyebrow.

"The Kyūbi's name is Kurama." Naruto answered Jiraiya's first question. "To allow constant flow between the two's chakras and allow them to share, Kurama cannot reside in the cage that would keep him at bay back then." Jiraiya made a silent laugh.

Naruto sighed. "Enough with the questions I just woke up, you know." Hiruzen laughed. "Of course, sorry Naruto." Jiraiya grumbled and left the room Hiruzen following soon after. Leaving only Sasuke and Naruto in the room.

"What would you consider next?" Sasuke finally said. He made sure the Hokage and Jiraiya we're out of ears reach. Naruto crossed his arms and bit his lip. A habit he aquired throughout the years. "I couldn't be sure." Naruto and Sasuke was quiet for a few more minutes.

"I think everything else that is going to happen, happens in our years when we finally become ninja." Sasuke nodded. "Then we wait." Naruto smiled.

"Though I guess our younger selves have to wait anyway." Naruto's eyebrow raised. "The academy was destroyed and only the older years can attend due to the short staff issue." Naruto nodded. "I guess that makes sense."

"Then the real issues is..." Sasuke trailed off. "Orochimaru." Naruto finished Sasuke's sentence. "He came during the chunin exams. We will wait then to do anything." Sasuke nodded.

Naruto began standing up. He had been unhooked by any medical supplies a while ago. It had been Sasuke's idea. They were running critically low of medical supplies. With Naruto's fast healing he would be fine without it.

Sasuke exited the room while Naruto changed. Naruto opened the door and smiled at his friend. "Then I believe we get a little bit of a break." Naruto laughed. "Let's force someone to buy us ramen." Sasuke said. Naruto's smiled turned mischievous. "I bet Shikaku would." Sasuke chased after Naruto.

Obito looked from his seat next to Kakashi. And there had been a running Naruto and Sasuke chasing not far behind. Both Obito and Kakashi raised an eyebrow at the scene. "They must be in their early thirties, and they still chase each other around like children." Obito said as he crossed his arms. Kakashi laughed. "It's probably because Naruto finally woke up from a month long coma." Obito nodded. "Possibly."

Believe it or not, Kakashi and Obito's relationship has actually been improving. They had been hanging out with each other almost daily. And Obito and Kakashi share a house. It's kind of forced, since Yamato can only do so much. But, the friendship that seems to be forming, was much needed between the both of them. They both had been lonely idiots in their own way.
