Ch.54 Panic

The Hokage jumped out the window and ran to where he saw smoke.

Hiruzen gasped at the scene. Houses laied flat and rubble remained in their place. There were people helping others but before Hiruzen had time to ask them questions there was another loud crash behind him.

He looked behind himself and saw the person who was causing such destruction. "Who are you!" The Hokage yelled. The man with orange hair turned to him. The Hokage's eyes widened. This man had piercing's all over his body. Not to mention the seemingly glowing purple eyes this man had. He was given no warning. Suddenly he felt a push of air and he was sent several meters away.

The Hokage caught himself and looked up once more. But this time, the ginger was gone. Or the one he saw a mere second ago, now it was a man with long orange hair, still covered in piercings and had the Rinnegan.

"The Rinnegan was told to be one of the rarest Kekkei Genkai how do so many people seem to have it?" The Hokage thought to himself. He decided it was best to not bother with any unnecessary thoughts.

Obito stopped suddenly on the branch he was on.

Naruto looked back at Obito confused. "What is it Obito?" Obito didn't respond but looked back at a ring that he had. It was glowing. "What is that Obito?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow. "I had taken this from the hideout. It's purpose is to alert backup or call for a meeting. Different patterns mean different things." Obito explained quickly.

Naruto's eyebrows furrowed. "Then what is it?" Sasuke looked over at the ring. "It's Morse code. But somewhat different." Obito nodded. "We need to go back to the leaf." Shikamaru felt his breath leave his body.

"Is the village really being attacked?" Shikamaru was quiet. Obito narrowed his eyes. "I was not informed, but yes. And it seems Nagato is requesting backup." Every muscle in Naruto's body tensed. "Then let's hurry before he flattens the entire village." Naruto's eyes were wide betraying is otherwise neutral face.

They ran as fast as they could but they were at least a whole days away.

The Hokage looked up. He saw things he wouldn't have thought possible. Souls of his comrades had been taken.

Now it seems that another summons rather large animals at will. Hiruzen had no time to think about his actions he had hurt himself several times in the process of trying to dodge these mechanical like things.

He saw Kakashi held down by these rods of the color black. Then without warning one of them started to fly. There had been 6 Rinnegan users here. Six. The Rinnegan had been told to have been a gift from the sage of six paths himself.

The Hokage looked around desperately. In a way he was completely cornered. If he were to pull the reaper death seal he would only get rid of one problem. It wouldn't be enough. He had no time to even summon his summon.

The Hokage felt his nerves scream where his arm was. He looked to his side to see nothing. His arm. He had been crushed by falling rubble, though only his arm did. He had been getting slower, all he could do was dodge and now? He couldn't do anything. He couldn't feel his arm.

The Hokage looked up with a sour expression. He had to be the most pathetic of the Hokage. No doubt they were after Naruto. He remembered Jiraiya warning him about the Akatsuki but Jiraiya had no other information to give other than the cloaks they wore.

Was this a lackey? Or a the leader of the Akatsuki? The Hokage hoped he was the leader, someone more powerful than them would be... Not good. He felt his vision darkening. Before he completely fell unconscious however, he felt a loud rumbling.

The four of them had been running non stop to get to the village, but they had traveled far.

Finally, Obito stopped. He looked over at Naruto. "We aren't going to make it at this pace." Naruto felt himself twitch. "Why arent we running?" Is all Naruto said. Obito looked at Naruto harder. It's a easy to transport myself. But I doubt I have the power to stop pein. It's another things when I transport someone else entirely.

Naruto's eyes widened. "Due to Kakashi having my eye, I have a hard time using my Mangekyou like I'm supposed to." Obito trailed off. "I'm not going to explain any further. Just... Naruto. Buy us some time." Before Naruto could protest he felt himself swirl into nothing. Everything was black for only a few seconds before he felt himself appear again.

And just as Obito had said. He was taken to the village. Or what was supposed to be the village. Naruto had arrived to late. Naruto didn't stop to grieve however. He saw himself, his blonde self running away from what was obviously pein.

Naruto didn't wait any longer. He didn't think and longer. He jumped and was running down to stop Pein from getting his past self. Which. He proved successful. Naruto grabbed his past self and held him behind him. Peins expression did not change.

Pein remained quiet. "Don't bother trying to get him." Naruto finally said. What he needed to do. Was buy time. Until he had sufficient backup. But how well would that work with someone such as the six paths of Pain?

"You have the same chakra as the boy." Pein finally said. "I know that." Naruto said tightly. he could handle them all easily. But what concerned him was... The villagers.

His younger self shook behind him. He hasn't even completed his first year of the academy and already he had to figure out the hard way that he was being targeted.

"Nagato." Naruto finally said Peins expression changed slightly but went back to it's usual blank expression. "I want to talk to you. But I cannot allow you to continue your assault on the village and it's villagers." Pein looked darkly at Naruto. "Then fight." Pein said harshly. Naruto narrowed his eyes. "Then so be it." Naruto's face could only be described as sad.
